Ordered a stuffed pizza from this place with 4 tippings to the tune of almosy $27 in addition to an XL pizza for a grand total of almost $53. Once pizza was picked up anf back home, looked forward to enjoying my pizza. Unfortunately, THAT WAS NOT THE CASE! Started to eat the pizza and ended up with a mouth full of NOTHING BUT CHEESE! Peeled back about 6 of the slices and maybe found 6 or 7 pieces of sausage and about 7 or 8 pepperoni. Minimum small diced pieces of green pepper and onion. Called them to make them aware of this and the guy answereing says let me get you the owner. Owner gets on the phone and once informed states he's sorry, that's not how they make them. Informed I could take pictures, hell i could bring it back. Owner states they are usually stuffed. If that's the case, WHO IN THE HELL REMOVED IT FROM HOT MELTED CHEESE??????? Owner then says I can give you a couple of dollars off of your next order...WTF???? YOU DEFINITELY DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT ME SPENDING ANY MORE MONEY WITH YOU! It's such a shame when they could care less! I'm definitely going to share the pictures with all of my over 2500 contacts! In an effort to make sure we're not supporting BS service in 2025! Their delivery drivers are extremely courteous. I've been ordering from Marie's for many moons, and if there was an issue, which was always rare for me, they must certainly made it right. I love this place. Their pizza is fantastic, but beyond that it's their Lasagna that's fantastic. I've ordered take out and delivery from them for over 8 years and have never had a problem. In fact we've had friends at our house and have decided to order food here. I recommended the Lasagna, many of them ordered it. The next time they came over they wanted to get it again. They do deliver and that is great if it's late night or you just don't feel like driving. Generally they are very good with the service. They will deliver to a building. Order taker on the phone was very easy to work with. -Pizza was of good quality and drink options available. -Great hours for the area Cons: -Pizza box was a bit beat up when we got it and it damaged the pizza slightly. Amazingly despite a little cheese being on the top of the box the pizza was in pretty good shape. Rockford, IL seems to have a LOT of pizza places from which to choose. The large franchise places are here, but there are even more "mom and pop" places who make the franchise places look bad by serving a very high-quality product. With so many pizza places here, one could easily have trouble picking a place from which to get a pizza, as most places serve a great pie. Some have a great thin crust, some are dirt cheap in price, some have a great thick crust, some have a great stuffed pizza; but few seem to have all of the above under one roof. For over a decade, Marie's Pizza has had some of the best pizza in town, hands down. Whether one orders their great thin crust, double crust, thick crust, or stuffed pies, one will not go wrong with eating here. This family-run pizza place has a tasty red sauce they make in-house, with hints of onion and garlic supporting the ripe tomatoes. They also sell a few different red-sauce and Sicillian'ish entres and sandwiches, but they seem to mostly sell a lot of pizzas, and for good reason! The pizza's crusts are cooked perfectly while not being too greasy like many other pizza places' pizzas can be. Cheese is not overbearing, but is adequate in quantity, as are the toppings used. Carry out and delivery are the only ways to get their food, and they are open until late daily. The shop is accessed off of 12th Street from Charles Street due to Charles Street's realignment a few years ago and is easy to get to from Swedish American Hospital or on the way heading east out of downtown Rockford. Although not well-known by many in town (or easily confused with a similarly-named well-known south-west-side eatery with much-lessor quality pizzas), you are missing a real treat if you miss this neighborhood pizza staple! read more

Meatball sandwich. You will thank me later. Add some cheese and don't forget the grilled onions. Wow!!! The meat flavor is something to be appreciated here. This is my go to dish that I dream about when I am attempting to be a healthy person. I have never had a meatball with such flavor. The cheese tortellini is a solid pasta dish. Perfect amount of sauce and the pasta was cooked perfectly. Lasagna dish is dynamite. Yet again it comes back to the meat and cheese combination that is out of this world. The pizza is a solid choice for Rockford pizza. Unfortunately I have not indulged in it as much as some of the sandwiches and pastas, so I can't give as much of a review on it. Overcharged $1, got wrong item, eh! I ordered the Italian Beef with cheese ($4.70 & $1.25), Onion Rings ($2.60) and a can of pop ($1). I got the Fried Mushrooms instead ($2.90). Tax included, it should have been $9.85, but she charged me $10.85. No receipt offered. The mushrooms appeared to be frozen and deep fried, and were just ok. The Italian Beef was again "ok", at best. Fair sized bun, with lots of beef on one end, virtually none on the other end, overall a bit skimpy. Good amount of stringy cheese. Good, not great. I asked for it "extra juicy", it came out dry, but with a side container of juice. I could have used two. She quoted 20 minutes, and I think it was most of that time, a bit long for putting meat on bread and melting some cheese. They offer a variety of pastas and sandwiches, along with pizza. I'll try something different if I go back. Napoli's still outshines everyone else in town on Italian Beef. The same meal with fries (LOTS more meat, LOTS of fries) is $7.00 there. I have ordered from Maries pizza for over 8 years now. It was one of the first I tried in Rockford and I liked the pizza from the start. I have been a vegetarian for more than 3 years, so when I bit into my pizza (which was supposed to be spinach, mushroom and peperoncini) and found italian sausage, I was not too happy. I called, politely explaining the situation, and asked if I could recieve a credit, it was 11pm. The owner told me they don't give credit's, they don't give out free pizza's, and they could bring me a new pizza tonight, or receive a $1.65 credit next time. It was late, and we didn't want to wait another 20-30 minutes for a pizza and $1.65???!!! I haven't had meat in years, the LAST thing I wanted to find on my pizza was sausage. I ended up having to drive up there because they agreed to "return" my pizza. One piece and one bite was missing from this large pizza. Two out of the three people eating it, would not have now, because of the sausage. I was not trying to get a "free." pizza, I just wanted the pizza I ordered. I am extremely dissatisfied with the service I received from Marie's. They refunded my money and I will NOT be ordering from there again. It's a shame. We ordered Marie's recently a few times to try something new. The first two times was okay tonight ordered from there omggg a sloppy wet nasty pizza with some burnt mushrooms. At this point nothing had been taken out if it as it was so watery the cheese wasn't even on it. I called the man that answered was rude and refused to give back money. This is by far the best pizza in Rockford. We have tried others and they do not even come close. We end up comparing them to Marie's. The location is not very convenient for us, but it doesn't matter. It is worth it. And... they put enough sauce on the pizza, but not too much. A lot of places skimp on the sauce. They use fresh mushrooms, which is a plus for me. I would always have to ask other places if they use canned or fresh mushrooms. Why would you not use fresh? They offer a 'Family Size' pizza, which is awesome. It is huge! It is fast and prices are good. Be aware, It is carry out or delivery only. read more

In all my 18 years ive never been so appalled by the customer service of a business. we had ordered a beef/saus combo with no cheese and sauce ON THE SIDE. not only was there sauce on the sandwich the owner was SOOOO rude. we brought up how the sausage was covered in sauce and his exact words to a LADY were "what do you want me to do fucking wash it thats how its cooked" I personally never get sauce on my sausage sandwiches and its never had an ounce of sauce on mine. all in all Im not to impressed with the food and now im no longer impressed by the service. You dont demean a customer let a lone a female who just gave your company almost 30 dollars for mediocre food. Was in Rockford for an event this past weekend, and we needed to order some pizzas for the family. We decided on Marie's based on the yelp reviews. Ordered two cheese pizzas, one sausage pizza, and one supreme for carry out. Pizzas were delicious... some of the best I've ever had. If you like mounds of fresh ingredients, a lot of cheese, and a pizza that is very filling I highly recommend Marie's.
