I have loved this place since it opened! Earlier this week when I was there, I had a different…read morewaitperson. She did a good job. But it was different when I got the bill- instead of a regular paper bill where I write in the tip, I got a paper bill and an iPad shoved in my face and the only thing on the screen was the page where you tip. The waitperson stood right there while I filled it out and didn't even say thank- you. So if you do this again, there will be no tip at all. I have never been treated that way regarding tipping. I actually don't think I will be back.

Fantastic service and food!!! Great ambiance…read more Roscendo was a wonderful, friendly waiter. My parents and I are in love with this place. We got carryout food last week and came back to dine in yesterday. Carryout orders were Four cheese and onion enchiladas a La carte, and Vegetarian combination C. The bean tostadas were crisp and loved the beans. My parents were wild about the cheese enchiladas. Yesterday I had Arroz con marisco which was the cheesiest Spanish rice ever. I think my eyes were bigger than my stomach caus I could only eat one tortilla, and the shrimp and scallops were amazing. Topped with the white queso sauce mmmmm. My dad inhaled the Fondita's seafood which had a generous piece of seasoned fish and shrimp. Mom liked the tacos. The atmosphere is fun and uplifting. Great selection and affordable prices. Conveniently located across from Wal-Mart. Definitely will be back.

Seems like as soon as we said out loud "hey where is that waiter?" He popped up to take our order. Guacamole salad was good but needed a little salt. We got nachos for the table, a kids meal was ordered and a chimichanga with ground beef was the entree. That food was out in under 8 minutes! The food was good and while I found it a little pricey for lunch it's not terrible. Overall, this was a great experience and I'd recommend it.

Carlos are waiter was very attentive and kept stopping by to check on us and refill our glasses with water. Complimentary salsa and chips. The salsa was ok not homemade and it seem like it was something poured out of a can. The chips were fresh and warm. If ever your in Ottawa I recommend you stop to dine in for some delicious food.

The selection on the menu seemed good but I was not super hungry so I ordered one cheese enchilada and one bean tostada. My brother loved the camarones el Diablo. Our uncle got a chimichanga and white queso sauce. He asked for a side of rice and beans but it didn't come out with his meal. He had to ask for them a second time and the waitress got them later. Queso was good (I tried a little). Brother gave me two pieces of shrimp and they were spicy and good. Unfortunately my meal came out much later than everyone else's and both items were freezing cold. I couldn't be bothered to send them back caus the service was so slow. I asked for a pinio Grigio and they had only enough for one small glass. It was not that busy there so we were not very impressed with the overall experience.

Brand spanking new Mexican place that took over the old Monte's Riverside restaurant…read more GDL (Guadalajara) Mexican restaurant recently opened and I believe owned by the same folks as Tapatios in Ottawa. We dined on a Tuesday evening and it was pretty dead inside. The interior is brighter than the former Monte's. The decor is pretty neat and the bar is super cute. They did a nice job renovating this space. Lots of Roman Empire female warriors on the walls. I ordered the fish tacos and had beans in place of rice. That is a delicious meal! The sauce is so good. Huge portions and plenty of fish. My bro got the shrimp verde plate and added chorizo. He also replaced the rice for beans. He loved this meal, very flavorful. Mom got a la carte ground beef taco and cheese and onion enchilada which she enjoyed. The menu is extensive and the prices are good. The staff are very friendly and kept checking on us through our time here. Ruben was an excellent server. The only minor gripes are it was a bit chilly in here, and there was no music in the dining area. Very quiet. The food is great so we are definitely coming back.

I'm not sure about the reviews before about the inattentive waitstaff as our server (at some points 2 would come to the table) was just as sweet as pie and super attentive. We had the beef enchiladas and chicken flautas. Which were both good, however if I go back, I would request them in corn tortilla as they seem to assume flour as the preferred favorite, which might be true around here but either way they were both pretty tasty. If you like a little spice be sure to ask for the spicier tomatillo sauce. It's wonderful! Onto the fried Ice Cream which was HEAV-EN-LY. It had hints of coconut to it as well. I'd definitely come back when Im in town again and will recommend to our friends who just moved here.
