When we returned to Carespot for the doctor here to check on his wound the doctor here asked how many stitches he got and my husband was said none. It was glued. I've been there before for a broken foot, chest pain and even a swollen foot. This place is horrible. Worse thing about moving to Ocala from Pembroke Pines is finding adequate medical care.

I will never use their…read moreservices again..The whole atmosphere of the floor I was on was a very toxic work environment, the staff was so short handed and over worked, the services were the worst. Patients being postponed several days for scheduled surgeries because of short staff or not enough operating rooms for over scheduled appointments. I have hypertension and was not given my blood pressure medication for most of my 4 day stay there, until my pressure reached 188/109, they said that they put it on hold because at one point my pressure was good. WHAT??.. The waiting for things like medications, help with iv, getting ice or drinks was ridiculous. I waited for 30 minutes with my iv pump beeping and nurse light flashing and pushing buttons every 2minutes to quieten the beep before I took it upon myself to just turn it off. A blood technician came in to do blood work and proceeded to use a vein that was already injured from an iv being put there, I asked her don't you think that's already bruised up enough,and she responded to me, no it's a good vein and I'm going to use it..ok fine, so I sat up to let her and she said no you need to lay flat down because I can't do it like that cause of my back, well I thought I was the patient ma'am not you. Honestly I'm still here and it's 230 in the morning and I'm just waiting for 6am when the doctors make their rounds so I can request to get out of the awful toxic environment, I would seriously think twice before using this health facility, it's almost like the patient is last or forgotten. I feel really bad for some of the staff because of the conditions of their work environment..It was sad to see the nurses getting cursed out because they had to be the messengers of bad news to patients because of the cancelations of surgeries, what an experience it was,this is only part of it,honestly I could write a mini series of the events that took place these last 4 days. But in reality I just want to get out of here, 6 o clock can't come fast enough.

I refused to go because about eight months ago I was in that hospital, admitted through the ER for an MRI, and the hospital refused to treat my chronic pain with the hydrocodone I am prescribed by pain management doctor and would only offer me Tylenol. I was in such excruciating pain that I left the hospital AMA in the middle of the night to go home and take my pain medication. Over this past week my symptoms got worse so I went to the ER in Ocala. I was admitted with Acute Kidney Injury, Pulmonary Edema, and Anemia. Many of my prescriptions are written for specific brands or specific generics, so I brought my own medications, in the pharmacy bottles, because I knew the hospital might not have the exact ones I need. Upon admission, no medication reconciliation was performed. Hospital staff took my home medications but refused to give them to me. I was told the ER doctor did not enter my medication orders correctly into the system, and that the ER doctor had left and could not fix the orders. I was told the pharmacy would not "put their labels on them" and I was told that the on-call doctor was not calling back, and when the nurse practitioner arrived, they also would not correct the medication orders. As a result, with the exception of being given Ivabradine and Ambien that evening, my medications were all withheld for 19 hours. In the morning when I realized they were not going to give me my hydrocortisone I had to make a difficult decision. Hydrocortisone is essential for me because I have adrenal insufficiency/HPA axis dysfunction. Missing a morning dose can cause an adrenal crisis--a life-threatening emergency that can cause severe low blood pressure, shock, confusion, vomiting, and even death if not treated promptly with steroids. I had to leave the hospital AMA, so they would return my medications to me, only because I needed to take my hydrocortisone to avoid this potentially fatal complication. The ER doctor told me he was going to temporarily increase my furosemide overnight to treat the pulmonary edema and difficulty breathing. This medication was also withheld. Then the cardiologist told me that I needed to stop the furosemide. I told him that I have been stable on this medication for over 20 years and without it I end up in the ER with difficulty breathing. Since my symptoms are new, and I have recently been diagnosed with autonomic dysfunction, it is very unlikely that the furosemide is the cause. I have documented autonomic dysfunction (diagnosed by abnormal tilt table testing). This affects my blood vessel tone and can cause fluid to shift out of my blood vessels into my tissues (a phenomenon called "third spacing" or capillary leak). Because of this, I can have: Low blood volume inside my vessels ("dehydrated"): This leads to low blood pressure, dizziness, and can worsen kidney function (as seen with my recent Acute Kidney Injury). Too much fluid in my tissues ("fluid overloaded"):This causes swelling (edema) and, in my case, even mild pulmonary edema (fluid in the lungs) as seen on my recent chest x-ray. This means I can be "dehydrated" and "fluid overloaded" at the same time, and standard advice about fluid or diuretic use may not apply. My treatment needs to be individualized and carefully balanced. My symptoms have not resolved. I still have Pulmonary Edema, Acute Kidney Injury, and Anemia and I'm at home having difficulty breathing. But I cannot return to the hospital because they will again withhold my necessary medications, putting me at risk for even more severe complications and they clearly do not know how to treat Autonomic Dysfunction so their treatment plan could further harm me. Is this the standard of care that you aim for? If so, I have a suggestion. Since the hospital plays a lullaby over the PA system every time a baby is born, you should also be required to play a funeral dirge over the PA system every time you kill a patient! I most certainly will be filing complaints with the Florida Agency for Healthcare Administration and The Joint Commission.

The whole team here must have been handpicked. Nurse Shep, is EPIC, and checks all the boxes for a quintessential professional. Each and every person we met are so phenomenal that we must give the accolades that are well deserved. They were conscientious and efficient covering all bases, which gives such a peace of mind. The warmth, and empathy was astounding and we could literally, feel the passion they have as medical- professionals who hold the Hippocratic Oath as their code of conduct. The knowledge and wisdom applied was indeed impressive. The whole team worked together like a fine-tuned machine, in a display of astounding cohesiveness which is so refreshing as they respect each other while they serve their patients in need. They are expeditious, hard-working, and quick to share a smile. Working in the ER must be taxing as this is a time, not planned, and caretaker/family members must drop everything to get the patient there as quickly as possible in most cases, so now emotions are filled with anxiety. However, somehow it gets better when they walk in your room, and suddenly a sense of peace overcomes you....because you know that they have it all under control. It's an Emergency facility so I was a bit hesitant to go in as this was far from an "emergency" but when I went in I simply could not have been treated better! Between registering me, taking me back to a room, taking my vitals and history, getting the Doc in to see me, look at my ear and give a referral and checking out, I was out of there in 30 mins or less! Everyone was super nice. Although you can go in for "urgent care" this is a full-on Hospital facility. Everything is state-of-the-art. I could not recommend it more highly!

Terrible hospital. I was in so much pain in the waiting room that people kept telling the staff…read morethey needed to help me. It was so bad that a group of people did a prayer circle around me. Then I had a doctor yell and scream at me when I was admitted and in my room. As he wanted to do something to me, and I said it would be fine if they blocked the area first. As it was in so painful that I couldn't even touch it. When I tried to tell the doctor that I am allergic to the stuff they give you to drink for a colonoscopy . He told me to shut up. I ended up vomiting all night long was covered in sweat. They had to change my bed four times. My blood pressure was 205/120 . That with giving me antinausea medication and pain medication every four hours I only drank about a cup of the stuff than the same doctor came in a yelled at me for not drinking more of it.
