Dress needed to be adjusted at bodice, as it was loose. Front desk woman suggested adjusting the staps. I said ok, because I know nothing about adjusting a dress. The dress is still too loose and now the neckline is too high. It looks terrible. I've never worn it again. The price was fine for the two cuts and four inches of sewing. Do NOT bring anything here to be altered. I brought my wedding dress here on recommendation from family. The woman who I dealt with was extremely brash and aggressive, and told me I needed to come back when I lose weight. While I was in the dressing room I could hear her yelling to the other people that I needed to lose weight. Keep in mind, I am 5'2 and 120 pounds. Overall, the store room was a mess and the attendants were very unprofessional. I am not an easily offended person by any means, but my experience here was extremely hurtful & unprofessional. Not the type of experience you're looking for when preparing for a wedding, or any event. I would give this place 0 stars if possible. I will not be returning. read more

I recently had sleeve alterations done on my raincoat. While the work was fine, their customer service left a lot to be desired. When I dropped off the coat, the young woman who waited on me gave me the impression I was a bother. Same thing from another young woman when I picked up the coat. It doesn't cost anything to smile and be friendly/personable. If you treat me like something on the bottom of your shoe, then you don't want my money. I would not go back. read more

These wonderful ladies absolutely saved my life. I was in a wedding on Saturday, and on Friday when I tried my dress on Friday it didn't fit. We took it to Maria's at 2 o'clock on Friday afternoon, and the dress was finished by 10 am on Saturday, and looked incredible. Absolutely Horrible experience. My fiancée went in to be Fitted for her tuxedo for our wedding which is in 6 Weeks. Maria handed the bag of clothes to my fiancée and walked away. Everything was two sizes too big because she measured her Over her clothes. Then did No fitting, no pinning, NOTHING. She couldn't even be bothered to shake my fiancée's hand when they first met. She's rude and unprofessional. There are unattended children running around and screaming. They would rather sit in back and gossip with each other than actually do their jobs, which is to Help the customer. My fiancée doesn't know the first thing about suits and NEEDED help from a professional. This person did Not do that. Unattentive, rude, and dismissive. When my fiancée called back to cancel the re-order and explain that it was from lack of service, Maria said, "Oh okay" and hung up. NO ONE SHOULD GIVE THESE PEOPLE BUSINESS!!!! read more

Short and sweet. I have my son's pants hemmed here. He's in between sizes. It's quick and less than $10(usually I'm charged $5) a pair. I've never had an issue with too much or too little being taken off, and it only takes a day or two to have them ready. read more

I have given Maria's several chances - with many varieties of pants....everytime they have been shortened way too much. So I had written them off for pants a long time ago. The last straw came when I went to have a bridesmaid dress altered. I was urged to go there, against my better judgment, because those that urged me suggested she can't be bad at dresses and she's got to be cheaper than David's bridal. Well I needed the dress shortened and the straps taken in a bit. After I was told the alterations would cost just about as much as the dress, I hoped it would be ok. I picked it up, they were not keen on the idea of me trying on the dress as they felt it was busy in there, so it wasn't until I got home that I knew the dress was still way too long and the straps had still not been shortened enough. Not to mention, when paying, they had me sit there for 10 minutes waiting for one of the workers to get off a long distance personal call, only to finally tell me after she remained on the call they could take a check too- 10 minutes of my life i will never get back! read more

Had to get two patches sewn on my dress uniform in a hurry, and there were no objections. They were very knowledgable on military regulations, and had me in and out in less than an hour. The seamstress even fixed an old crooked patch free of charge. Would definitely return. read more

My friend took her wedding dress here to get fitted. Our first fitting appointment with them, we waited about 15 minutes for them to find the customers clothes and cash them out. As we were next and had a appt , they proceeded to tell us we weren't scheduled for anything and that nothing had been changed or done with the dress. Ok... ? well y did u have it for 4 weeks then ?? Anyway, we made another appt. 2nd visit fine. No great suggestions on any undergarments or bras to wear to make the cups fell fuller. 3rd okay. but ...some very pearly shinny buttons were added to the dress to hold up the train, that didnt match the dress at all. And was never mentioned to her that they'd be added. They stuck out. I felt so sorry for my friend as she was so unhappy with it. I know i will never go here for alterations. Unfortunately after all this ,the price she was quoted was extremely higher. Not organized. read more

I've gone to Maria's two times and each time the staff was great. My first experience was for my wedding dress, they did a fantastic job with my alterations at an affordable price when other places had quoted me triple what Maria's charged. Most recently I went in to have a garment altered that I needed for a trip I was taking the next day and they had it done in just a few hours. read more

I went to Maria's on the recommendation of a friend, when I wanted to have two dresses taken in. I made an appointment and was greeted very brusquely and shoved into a dressing room. The seamstress very hurriedly chalked up the dresses with barely any communication. Upon checkout, I was given a total for the alterations and nearly fainted. I've had many dresses altered and was appalled at what they wanted to charge me (I don't remember the exact amount, but it was over $100). They wouldn't provide any breakdown to justify the price (ie, taking it in would be X dollars, and changing the hem would be X dollars). I thanked them and said apologetically that was out of my budget, and they rubbed the chalk lines all over the dresses and tossed them at me without a word. The store seemed very unfriendly and unprofessional. I would not return. read more

If you have an atypical wedding dress with tulle, DO NOT take your bridal gown here. They completely ruined the tulle on the top of my dress. After multiple attempts to have the seamstresses fix the problems, I gave up and took the dress home out of frustration. Very upsetting to not feel like I was being listened to multiple times. For other alterations, I'm sure they're fine. read more
