Went today before strolling the art festival. Got right in and sat on the bar. They're real nice ..I had the veggie Benedict..which was perfectly poached eggs on crisp fresh, hot fried green tomatoes and avocado slices, sauce was delicious. Husb had the reg Benedict and was very happy. Our side were home fries that were tasty; nice fresh brewed tea. Really a great way to start the art! Service was good, food came nice n hot. I'm being generous with two stars and that's for server and hostess being good. Usually we like this place! What the hell happened! Cheese omelets almost ten bucks, and I'm fine with that but it was flat dry as a fart, and needed magnifying glass to find the cheese! The biscuit was like it wasn't cooked! Grits were fine.. coffee ok, service good. My first try at omlet was horrible so o sent it back next one came out just as bad flat dry maybe teaspoon of cheese. I could have done better and my cooking sucks!! We go out for breakfast frequently to get in our morning walk around Stuart. I asked was this new cook breakfast is usually good and this was awful. Not what we were hoping for. It's in a great location and the inside is "diner" atmosphere. The service was good but the food was sub par and very lackluster. Portions were mediocre and the over all taste was poor. Bagel was burnt and home fries were soggy. Couldn't taste the fruit in the crepes due to the overwhelming cinnamon. Nothing special about the lunch we had . The Turkey platter with dressing below average. The stuffing was salty and had an out of the box flavor to it. The green beans were flavorless even though they had onions in the them. The gravy was equally tasteless. If you like instructional food this meal is for yo. Maria's is a convenient little restaurant that's open for breakfast & lunch right on Osceola Street in downtown Stuart. They have so many options for breakfast & lunch and the restaurant was recommended to us by our friends who had eaten breakfast there earlier in the day. There is inside dining: counter, booths, and tables, as well as tables outside on a covered patio. My friend and I chose to sit at a booth inside so we could enjoy the AC and still look out the window. It was around noon and the restaurant was not too full on a Friday afternoon. Upon seating we were immediately approached by a bus boy who brought us water. Our waitress came by a few minutes later to take our food orders. (Menus we're already on the table.). There were so many choices and they had a list of specials up on the wall. We both decided to eat light so she ordered a grilled chicken salad and I ordered a Greek chicken salad. The prices were reasonable; $8.95 for the grilled chicken and $9.95 for the Greek salad with chicken. The food came out pretty quickly and the portions were a decent size; however both of the salads were just OK. There was really nothing special about either one, but nothing was really wrong with them either. Maria's is very convenient if you are shopping on Osceola Street, or work in the area. I think next time I would try a hot meal, maybe something on their specials menu, or breakfast. They do have lots of choices for reasonably priced food and pretty quick service. read more

The service was quick. The food was great. I have to give 5 Stars to the bread. I like my eggs with rye bread. The rye I got was the absolute best rye bread I have ever had. The rye flavor was strong but the bread was soft. I got toast with eggs. I love, love the rye bread. The waitress said it was from a bakery near Orlando that does not use preservatives. I wish I could get this bread in the grocery stores. But it's good for only 3 days. That's okay, I'd freeze it until I'd need it. Try the rye bread with eggs or with a sandwich. read more

This was a surprising choice. The restaurant itself is nice. It is on the Main Street and overall a good place to sit. The service was a little crappy, the coffee was ordinary at best, and the food was okay. As a touristy place on the weekend of Florida's biggest boat show, it was a bit disappointing. It wasn't busy, but it was disappointing Nono the less. Perhaps it might be better next time, although given the competition, I sincerely doubt we will head back there. read more

I've eaten here twice and have no urge to return. First time was breakfast on a weekend in a large group. Food was ok, restaurant was busy but service was fine. Went back for an early lunch and both food and service left much to be desired. Was served the strangest salad I've ever had in my life - the kind where you eat around all the stuff you don't want - like a stack of sliced canned beets (seriously, like half a can) and a pile of fruit cocktail in sweet syrup (gross - where is Gordon Ramsey when you need him). Restaurant was not busy, but only saw our waitress when she took our food order, dropped off our food without a word, and dropped off our check (also without a word). Never came by to see if our food was in fact edible, never said thank you when dropping off the check. No smile from her or even the owner when we walked in...'ugh, are you here to spend money and eat our food? great.' Too bad - their burgers look good but I can find a burger anywhere. This was our first experience here. I actually asked my daughter who had driven from Tallahassee (she's an FSU grad) to Ft. Laud to stop to purchase food and bring to me as I was stuck at a medical center in the area and hadn't had time to eat before my appointment where I'd be for hrs. While the service seemed okay and I don't have complaints about the pancakes, eggs, & turkey sausage meal ordered for me, my daughter and her friend had to experience being profiled as other restaurant patrons (white females) jeered them after staring when they walked in laughing and stating that they have a bonnet that comes down to their shoulders and too bad they didn't wear it today (neither my daughter or her friend wore a bonnet, but instead tied in bow scarves around the front of their styles during the long drive they were doing). Needless to say, this was disheartening to here and, tho I was suggested this place by another patient who had also just picked up breakfast this morning, I felt completely disappointed, wishing I had never sent my daughter here to experience this. It was not fair to them. Their reaction was simply to look at the grown white women making these racist comments and taking the higher road by looking away. It continued still and I can't even remember some of the ignorant remarks, but I decided to share this because it makes me wonder why these seemingly "regulars" feel so comfortable to harrass other patrons of a different look from there's without being provoked in any way. It makes me wonder if this type of culture/environment is condoned and/welcomed by owners or some of the staff here. Even if not, this was our first experience . I am a person who likes to support local or family owned business regardless of race of who owns, but living in Stuart for just a few yrs now, this was discouraging. My daughter is 25 and not a fighter or instigator, so much so that she cried as a little girl on sparring day when her dad made her take classes so she knows how to defend herself. The food was hot and fresh, but I heard the waitstaff tell the next table they were out of biscuits. It was fairly early on a Monday morning to be out. However, they had enough to serve us our Country Benedicts. I was asked when ordering if I wanted soft, medium or hard poached eggs. I got a bunch of slime when I ordered soft. Like undercooked. Food is classic diner style breakfast and is good. Portions are large.
