Can order freshly brewed tea (hot/cold)

Still my favorite tea brand! I've been trying different tea brands whenever I travel somewhere, but MF still has a place in my heart. We came here thinking that it still has the salon (restaurant/cafe), but it turned out that it's been closed for 2years already. Only the Marais & Etoille stores have the cafe. However, you can still order tea hot/cold from here Staff here is super nice and patient. The tea collection is pretty complete. They have the new stuff as well as the classic selections. Don't forget to pick up some Madeline. We tried the yuzu, earl grey imperial madeline. Regretted that we only got 1 pc. MF hasn't failed me yet. Always try to always have MF tea in my pantry.

I had high tea with my family, it's a beautiful space. I love their teas. I often recommend this spot to my friends when they visit Paris.

One of my friends grew up in Paris, and had purchased some of Mariage Freres tea for me to try as a Christmas present. I fell in love, and put it on my to do list to check this place out upon my next visit. I was not disappointed. This location is one of the original shops, and you can definitely sense the history of tea when you walk in, and provides an additional charm to the atmosphere. The tea shop is on the first floor, and you just need to climb the stairs in order to access the tea room. The tea shop is a bit overwhelming, as you can choose from many different types of tea, sold in different ways. You can buy tea in bags, tins of just the leaves, or go the front and ask for your choice of tea by weight, and they will open up a canister and make a bag for you. The tea room was historically charming and cosy. I could have spent hours here. They provide you with a food/tea menu, a tea only menu, and a book describing the different teas, and tea etiquette. The food here looked amazing, especially the pastries. I wish I had come with more room in my stomach. My friend and I each selected a tea and a macaroon. I loved that you get a full pot of your selected tea. The tea of course was amazing. The macaroon was OK. It was everything I had hoped for and more. I ended my stay of course by purchasing some of the amazing tea leaves to take home with me.

Duck foie gras salad with prawns. This, with a good Darjeeling, and I'm in heaven!

My wife and I had just finished exploring the Louvre and decided to stop in to Mariage Freres for some tea with brunch. This is a quaint little shop, nestled behind rows of apartments just South of 'Les Bouquinistes' restaurant. The atmosphere is exactly what I would expect an 'old school' tea shop to look like. The main floor is where they sell tea to customers, along with the assortment of gifts and tea supplies. There is a small staircase with a menu next to it leading upstairs to where the tables are. While the tables are a little crowded together, we were able to find a corner to ourselves, and enjoyed a nice spinach salad with duck foie gras, salmon, and prawns (there were other ingredients, be I wasn't able to write it down in time). Served with green tea toast, and a piping hot darjeeling tea. I would recommend this place to anyone who is near the Louvre, Notre Dame cathedral, and wants to enjoy a lite lunch with tea.

Angelina, Paris, France -- April 12…read more Our family of four with kids ages 9 and 10 stopped here for lunch after visiting the Louvre, drawn in by its reputation for having the best hot chocolate in the world. We were looking for a place to relax and refuel, and the experience felt a bit mixed overall. Arrival and First Impressions The space is elegant with classic Parisian charm. The line moved quickly, and we were seated with a great view of the dining room. It felt refined but still comfortable. The Highlights The famous hot chocolate lived up to expectations, thick, rich, and almost more like a dessert than a drink. We also had French onion soup and an éclair, both of which were very good. The pastries were clearly well made and thoughtfully prepared. The kids had chicken tenders, which they enjoyed, even though the tomato sauce was a bit different from what they expected. The Challenges The biggest drawback was the price. The meal felt expensive for what we ordered, coming in at €154 for a fairly simple lunch. Service felt slightly rushed as they moved tables along quickly. Final Thoughts We would likely return if we were nearby and specifically craving the hot chocolate again. It is a classic Paris stop and worth trying once, but the value may not justify going out of your way unless that signature experience is high on your list.

It really tastes like melted chocolate with a bit of milk mixed in to make it more drinkable. We went at a bit of an off time, late morning and it wasn't overly busy. We saw our server once and I couldn't recall who he was when it came time to get the bill. I asked a hostess walking by for our check and she told me to ask our server while walking away. We were able to flag another server down eventually but the whole process just took too long. The tables for four have chairs that don't quite tuck in causing for a bit awkward seating. If you like really thick hot chocolate, give it a try but otherwise ok to miss this one. Plenty of good hot chocolate throughout the city.

THE FOOD ------------------…read more+ THEEEEEE gold standard for macarons in Paris ... or anywhere for that matter. + Macarons here are a little crisp, a little pillowy softness and a whollllllle bunch of flavor. - It cost a pretty penny (about 3 Euros for 1 piece), but you won't regret it for a second when you bite into one of these addictively delicious treats. THE SERVICE ----------------------- + All class, top notch white glove service - literally - they handle the macarons with much care like it were gold! THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------------ + Located in the heart of the Champs-Élysées on Rue Lincoln, so, YES, it is busy like rush hour outside ... and inside. + There are 2 sides to this massive flagship location - you can either make a purchase of macarons at their store OR dine/sit down in their tea house. Both have lines to wait on, but making a purchase only takes about 10 minutes on a weekend, while dining in looks like an unimaginable wait! + The store to make a macaron purchase at has 3 tables to sit around to enjoy your purchase of delicious macarons. You MUST catch someone about to leave (like we did) in order to snag a table. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS ------------------------------------------- = Expect waits on a weekend afternoon, especially to sit down in the tea room. If you just make a store purchase, it's only about a 10 minute wait ... and you'll be thanking your legs for that. = It's a tourist destination in itself, so expect LOTS of people taking photos of this location. CONCLUSION ----------------------- = Yes, I'm from the tri-state area and they've had a Laduree in NYC since 2011, but there's alwayyyyys something special about going to one of the originals and this spot is no different.

I came here on my first visit to France with my sister and brother-in-law. I had just finished my time at the Eiffel tower and walked over to this restaurant for a drink and a snack. I was seated immediately, waiting for the rest of my party. The staff were incredibly patient, allowing me to stay for the fifteen-ish minutes it took for my family to arrive. We, of course, ordered the hot chocolate topped with cream. It was incredibly rich, which was the draw. It was required that we each ordered our own teapot, which provided about two and a half cups of hot chocolate. This was a bit excessive, as the drink was heavy and I could only stomach a cup. I did wish the restaurant allowed us to split the pot amongst our table. Nonetheless, I enjoy dining at Carette and returned on my second Paris trip with my husband. Anyone visiting for the first time should try their thick hot chocolate at least once.

It was head and shoulders our favorite coffee shop in the City of Light, and we lowkey made our rounds. It's a small shop, but filled to the brim with life and passion. I'm normally not a pastry guy, but if I lived anywhere near Motors I would absolutely be a pastry guy. The cinnamon roll was light and delicate, as opposed to the overly sweet and dense ones I'm used to. We also got a vanilla pastry they were testing, and a sugar cookie with milk chocolate drizzled on top. Ugh, take me back, inject these into my veins. I got my goto hot black coffee, and you could taste the freshness of the beans. My girlfriend got a latte that had the most beautiful little flower art on it. How do they even do that? I'm proud of myself, as I knew even when we were sitting in here enjoying our pastries, hot coffees, and each other's company that this was a moment I would look back on and cherish. It's always great knowing it's one of those moments when you're actually in it. You can fully appreciate it. My one regret is that I didn't get the ladies name serving us, as she was so sweet, recommended great pastries, and was just a pleasant human being. They don't make em like sis anymore...
