The lunch fish tacos are very good and reasonably priced. Our server was super friendly and fast. The margarita I tried was with Don Julio and it was quite orange-citrus, a bit on the sweet side more than I like but the husband liked it a lot. The complimentary salsa and chips were tasty. The ambiance itself is very underwhelming here, small and not very well lit. This place is really about the food. My husband got al pastor lunch tacos and he was very impressed. Overall though I would not say the atmosphere is that great, if you want ambiance there is a good place near the Ottawa Wal-Mart that is better. read more

Ordered from here for the first time... and pretty disappointed. The way it was packaged left grease all over the bag, the rice and beans were cold, the beans were against my burrito instead of the compartment they were supposed to be in. Something tells me it only would have been half full anyways. Didn't realize I paid $10 for a spoonful of beans. The burrito was at least somewhat decent... but I didn't know asking for sour cream meant they would load it on there. They also gave me a bag of chips with no salsa... there were no napkins, no fork or knife. Nothing. First time there, and probably my last. Definitely NOT worth what I paid. read more

This restaurant is over priced! We went there and ordered a pitcher of margarita. There is suppose to be 5 servings in it. The pitcher was filled to the top with ice and when we got it in the glasses, there was only 3-1/4 servings. The beans which suppose to hold heat was cold. The portions that were served were skimpy. Guacamole about1/4 cup was $3.50 and the sour cream was $1.00 but get this....they charge a dollar more because of covid for the entrees which is not posted on the menu and was never told prior ordering. The waitress which is the manager never wore a mask. The health dept should be notified. Chips and salsa were put on all the empty tables and when I was leaving a couple were told that there weren't any tables (lie) to wait at the bar. The chicken fajita that said $12.95 on the menu was $14.50 on the bill! Never again! They are not a 4star restaurant but have 4star prices! Come on you can do better!!! read more

this place made me wait an hour said they were busy. There's two other tables that already had an eaten. They did not refill my drink cup asking me how everything was and all I got was chips that were cold and sauce that taste like pizza sauce that you get out of the lunch a bowl's and then when the food finally came, I asked him why it took an hour and why the family behind me got serve the same time we did and she told me that they make all the fajitas at the same time so they didn't even start making my food 25 minutes into me sitting there then when I brought it up to the owner son, he was rude told me if I don't understand the service business that I can leave I did so then today I'm getting harassed and called saying that I owe money for food that I never took never touched and was threatened and told to get out of here before something happens bad. screw these ppl and hope they get shit down shit ass place! read more

My fav place for my steak tacos or my pollo a la Diablo, (aka Devil's chicken) Margaritas are great, my fav is strawberry-mango. Family ran place and great people. They are closed Tuesdays and can get pretty packed on a Friday night. read more

2 stars and I'm being very generous. Prices don't match the menu , the waitress was rude from the start and may I add none of the staff wears a mask. The food portions was a joke it's about half of what it used to be and the enchiladas where ok but nothing is ever Oder again. Horrible. I have ordered from this place 2 times now and have been disappointed both times. This most recent time I ordered the 3 taco meal with rice and beans. I do not care for beans so i asked for no beans and asked for the tacos to have cilantro and onions only in the taco. When I received my meal, I received 3 tacos with lettuce as the only topping. I also did not receive my rice as a side as well. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Called and placed and order and they messed it up because the guy taking my order couldn't hear me but refused to go to another room to place my order so I was yelling in my phone. Our experience was nothing short of terrible. We had to wait 1.5 hours for a table. The margaritas we very week and had more ice than anything else. The food was over cooked and the staff both the bar tender and waitress were unfriendly and unapologetic about everything. read more

I just experienced my first serious gastronomical disappointment since I arrived in Ottawa at the beginning of August. I'm always in awe of the incredible variety of options this small town of 20,000 has to offer, but I'd been craving Mexican food for a couple of days and since I remembered that Mariachi's in Naplate was once the go-to place for authentic Mexican cuisine, we called to order carryouts for three. We ordered from the online menu with no variations so, in theory, the order was simple and straightforward. Unfortunately, when I got home, I discovered that what should have been my dish, Enchiladas Mexicanas, an enchilada combo with three different fillings and toppings, had been substituted with a thin, tough skirt steak smothered in industrial grade cheese and tomatoes straight out of a can, with no seasoning. I supposed it was a mistake so I called the restaurant immediately. Sergio (who had been very cordial and had offered me a mini-Margarita while I waited because my order was late in coming out) was initially testy and then got downright rude. He insisted that what I got WAS the current version of Enchiladas Mexicanas. When I protested that it was different from what was described on the menu, he said that they now served this variation because no one liked the original version represented on the menu. Welcome to the Mexican Restaurant Twilight Zone? It'd be funnier if I wasn't still hungry and still craving Mexican food. My husband and I had dinner there last night. We have been to Mariachis many times. They have new menus and in fresh new interior. They are only getting two stars from me for their poor menu wording and off putting indifference to customers. My husband ordered a steak dish, Lomo en Chile de Arnold, that stated that it had red chili peppers in it. We of course expected it to be a little spicy with red chili peppers in it, duh, it's Mexican food. But this dish was so hot that my husband could not eat it. When we pointed this out to the waitress they just kind of laughed and said "oh that's the hottest thing on our menu." So my question is why doesn't the menu say that? We are no strangers to spicy food. I am Thai and my husband eats hot Thai spicy food on a regular basis. Most menus that have spicy items on their menu have some type of rating to better inform their customers. Due to the poor customer service we got, I do not think we will be back. You would think after the tornado, every business in Naplate would be bending over backwards to please their customers. It's a shame. read more
