Once again, it did not disappoint. The entire staff, from front desk to housekeeping, were friendly, happy, and welcoming. Both the room and entire facility was spotless and tastefully decorated for Autumn. Everything in our room worked to perfection and the turn down service is a nice added touch. Can you put a price tag on opening your balcony door and seeing the ocean crash against the rocks? Sitting on the balcony and drinking a hot cup of coffee overhearing the sounds of nature? We love the 24/7 access to hot tea, coffee, and bottled water. We made a few day trips up to Portland and Freeport and helped the economy up there as well. Once you have a taste of the Cliff House, it is tough to go somewhere else in Ogunquit.

The lobby has beautiful decor and the view over the cliff is fantastic. Every floor has a Maine Station- which includes a coffee station, 3 water options, and some fruit. Our room was spectacular and had a view over the cliff. It was not warm outside so unfortunately we weren't able to use the outside pools. For what I could tell there are 2 outdoor pools, one indoor pool and a larger hot tub. There seems to be a lot of weddings there. I believe like 3-4 a weekend. The grounds were very well cared for and there were different activities throughout the day you could participate in. The location is a little remote which is nice, but hard to explore being that it was our first time in Maine. The food was pretty good for the most part. We liked the food better at The Tiller than Nubb's. The drinks are really tasty, but can get spendy. We overall really enjoyed our visit and stay at Cliff House. Rating would be 4.25

The menu has lots of great options. I had a hard time deciding on one dish. I ordered the lobster roll and didn't realize there were multiple options for variations. I went with the Connecticut style (served warm with butter and no mayo) and loved it. I also opted for the truffle fries which were delicious. I also ordered the green juice which was refreshing and tasted great. I was in a party 3 and everyone liked their food. The vibe was relaxing and the decor was good. It is kind of spendy and the portions were a little on the smaller side. I would recommend getting brunch/lunch when in the area.

The food and experience execution is not great. It feels like they are trying too hard to be upscale and the results are disappointing. We ate several appetizers and entrees and nothing stood out as even above average. We liked the arancini but we ordered it with lobster...they forgot the lobster...we told them...and they still never brought it. My son had chocolate and vanilla ice cream for dessert. They stacked the chocolate on top of the vanilla and it was melted into the vanilla by the time it came. Thats not the end of the world but its one of many examples of poor execution. Even the free bread wasnt great and the maple butter didnt taste of maple. This place will never hurt for customers given the view but I suggest they focus more on simpler to execute crowd pleasers vs. trying to be ambitious and being consistently unsuccessful at it.

After hopping from restaurant to restaurant, all booked up, we walked in the Crooked Pine to find a waitlist inside the restaurant as well. They had seating outdoors and, given no other choice we agreed. What a treat!! We were seated by the fire, Frank Sinatra was singing in the background, string lights above us - couldn't be happier, we loved everything. I had the Lobster papardelle, and my husband had the stuffed cod, both were incredibly flavorful and savory. I would come back here anytime!

What we ordered: -Cornbread: 3/5, great portion to share with the table and piping hot which I loved but wish it was moister and had more honey on top. -Caesar salad: 5/5, incredibly fresh, dressing was delicious and evenly spread among the whole salad, fresh anchovies on top were a nice touch -Crabcakes: 4.8/5, only comes with 2 but the cakes were very fresh and flavorful. The corn on top was very boring I wish they spiced it up a bit but it did not take away from the flavor of the cakes so I kept the score high. -Lobster Pappardelle: 5/5, one of my favorite meals we ate on vacation!! Generous lobster portion with perfectly cooked pappardelle in a very tasty sauce. I already miss it and wish I could eat it again. -Braised Short Rib: 3.8/5, beautiful presentation and everything tasted great but very small polenta/carrot portions and I wish the meat was more tender. It wasn't bad, it just didn't blow my socks off. -Espresso crème brûlée: 4.5/5, was the perfect birthday dessert for my boyfriend and he absolutely loved it. Quality espresso flavor, wish it was a little crispier on top. Food was ~4/5 but our overall experience was 5/5. Our server, Pedro, was so friendly and helped us with dish recommendations. When I told him we were celebrating a birthday, he brought the crème brûlée out with a candle and two other staff members to sing to him which was so sweet. We will definitely come back here next time we're in town!

Although a change in ownership over the years was a surprise, the new owners kept up the charm and elegance I would expect from a resort-style establishment. From my first phone call, to the bellhop, to the front desk, to the absolutely fantastic dinner(s) and breakfast, the entire team was there for us to ensure our needs were met at every step. The Wentworth met our every expectation. A special shout out to our dinner wait-staff (Skye). Skye took the time to explain the menu and to offer other options for the ever chasing "Best Lobster Roll" in New England. Naturally, Skye recommended the Wentworths own in house Restaurant (The Salt K&B) so we went for it the next evening and Skye was absolutely spot on. Their Lobster Roll was spectacular. The "Best" in New England may be up for debate, but we were very happy with this and all other meals we enjoyed during our visit. Solid five stars folks to the entire team at the Wentworth Inn in Newcastle, New Hampshire. The Opal group has other facilities closer to us, which we'll be checking out soon. Check this place on folks you will not be disappointed.

They offer bikes to get around the property and, in many ways, it's like an upscale summer camp. Our cottage (#48) was awesome, sort of off on it's own but still central, large, great outdoor shower, and super well decorated. I also loved the screened in porch. The staff can be reached by text message and are very responsive. The housekeeping was hit-or-miss, oddly replacing some things, but not others, and not very polished. The restaurant, Earth, is extremely popular (so make dinner reservations well in advance.) We only ate there for breakfast, and the breakfast was very surprisingly amateur and not that great. The property is nice, but starting to show wear and tear. I think it will need an overhaul in a few years to keep going, particularly with the high rates they charge. The location is remote, but they allow you beach services with their sister hotel, Tides, only 6 minutes away via car, and it's easy to get to downtown Kennebunk and Kennebunkport.

We, as long as others, were doing laps around the main lot and the mini lot for the Harbor Hill Inn trying to find a spot. We ended up having to park on the street because there were not enough spots at Harbor Hill. When checking in, we were told there are enough spots for each room, yet the lot for our Inn was completely full. We were also told that if we found a spot, we shouldn't move the car. We wanted to explore the area more, so we did have to leave, it is odd to me that an Inn doesn't have a better parking situation for Inn patrons. We thought it would be fun to go to the pub for apps and a drink before our dinner reservation at the main restaurant. Unfortunately, we were met with an hour long wait for 2 at the pub. I do find it interesting when an Inn doesn't open up reservations or spots for their own guests to dine, rather than locals. When we did go to our dinner reservation, we had a nice time. Our waiter was helpful. When the food came, they brought out a wrong dish. The boy that brought it out told us he wished we said something before he put it on the table because now the dish couldn't be used. We weren't able to tell it wasn't the right dish until it was in front of us.... we then waiting 15 minutes for the right food to come out. Our waiter had them remake my meal as well since it got cold, which was nice. The food was great once we finally had it. They also comped 50% of the wrong dish which was also nice. After dinner we had drinks and headed back to our room to go to bed. A phone call woke us up. It was the front desk; they told us that "Someone came into the lobby furious that our room is being so loud. They said that last night, this morning and this evening we have been ridiculously loud." I told the person on the other line that we have been asleep in bed, and we only checked in this evening. I find it curious that the front desk wouldn't look who was in the room and if we had even been there the day prior. Then, instead of offering an apology, they said "well do you hear any noise?" I said earlier the room next to us was making some noise but nothing like they are describing. They then said, "well which side, right or left?" I said I do not know I need to go back to bed. Pretty unbelievable, and something that hasn't even happened to me at a cheap hotel. I wish I walked away feeling better about our stay, but it is in a beautiful location...

This is not a welcoming place…read more It was my first time visiting Maine and I was very excited to eat a lobster roll. After looking through reviews I found this place and decided to give it a try -- a decision that I wish I could take back. I went at night and there was a live band playing so the place was packed and people seemed to be enjoying themselves. I was immediately met with a ton of "why are you here" stares, from the crowd and staff. The young men (both of color) behind the order counter were the only ones who were a little friendly. I ordered a lobster roll, it came out pretty quickly and I made my way to find a table in a small open area with a TV playing a football game I wanted to watch. If I'm being honest the brioche bun tasted better than the lobster itself. As I was sitting down, a bartender threw a cardboard box and it hit me on the head. I guess he was attempting to throw it in the corner behind me but when it hit me and didn't apologize and basically told me that I was in the way. Why he would throw anything in the direction of customers is beyond me. Although I highly doubt he would have done so if I "looked like" the rest of the crowd. As a Black woman I felt extremely uncomfortable and unsafe. I immediately got up and practically ran out of there while I had the chance to. Needless to say I'd never return again and I'm sure they're okay with that.
