I have been going to Dr. Natividad for over 15 years now. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS LADY!!! She is patient, kind and attentive. She takes your concerns seriously and doesn't blow you off like most doctors. At one point, I did attempt to find a doctor closer to where I live. However, he was very cold and was in a rush to get me out. So after that I swear I would never leave Dr. Natividad EVER!!!! The drive is well worth it! Her taking the time to getting to know her patients is a rarity and I treasure that. I feel like I can talk to her about anything, regardless of how embarrassing the subject matter may be, and she will work on trying to find a solution. Yes, you may have to wait to get an appointment with Dr. Natividad. Yes, you may not be seen right on your appointment time. However, for her to do everything I said previously, she has to take her time with each patient, which I respect because I know she will do the same for me. I have had to navigate health issues at times and found her opinion and care so helpful. She is willing to take the time to listen and I've never felt rushed by her. This has been the worst experience I have ever had with any Dr's office. I would give zero stars if it were allowed, but I would not recommend this office to anyone. To not refill medication which can be life threatening because the PA wants lab work. I explained that my financial situation prohibits me to do any additional testing ( I've had several test, Scans, bloodwork) all normal, at this time the money is needed for my medication. They do not care. The PA has placed it in my chart she will not refill until I make an appointment. Then they told me in order for them to print my records to move to another office I would have to PAY. To speak to the PA I would have to schedule an appointment. I have sent a message, no response. However, the nurse/ receptionist stated that my only option was to make an appointment. I asked if this could be documented in my records and she kept stating that what the Dr said was documented. I explained that I want it to be documented that she is refusing to refill my medication and of course nothing! Very unprofessional and unacceptable. I hope no one has to experience this. I am grateful for the care I have received from Dr. Natividad and her staff, PA's for over 20 years. Dr. Natividad listens, is extremely knowledgeable, patient, calm, and caring. I would highly recommend her. In fact as my daughter is an adult returning to the community, I want her to see Dr. Natividad. Yes, referrals may be out of date at times, but I have experienced this with most doctors I see. There are some staff who are not as helpful as others, but there are some staff who have been there for many years and are helpful, kind, and responsive. Over the years, I have seen all of her PAs as well and have felt they were skilled, patient, and responsive and though I may prefer Dr. Natividad, I feel confident in all her medical and support staff and appreciate them. read more

I concur with many of the reviewers here that Dr. Natividad is wonderful, as is her PA, Loraine. I have been going to Dr. Natividad for about 10 years now and she always remembers me even though I see her maybe 1-2 a year for check-ups. However, the low rating is because A) I can never get an appointment with her unless I book way ahead; and B) her office staff is (as several people have pointed out) extremely rude, lazy, and inflexible. Dr. Natividad has always taken her time with me and is very thorough. She used to email and call personally with results, but I haven't seen her in awhile, so I'm not sure if she does that anymore. Loraine is also extremely personable and thorough. I went in once with a recurring migraine and she made me do all these exercises to rule out anything more serious. I have called several times with ailments such as colds and they always say there's nothing to fit me. For instance, I called one day with a bad cough and the office staff told me that all the doctors had left for the day (it was 4PM) and to call back tomorrow. Usually, they offer an appointment but she was obviously in a hurry to get me off the phone. I asked for an appointment on Monday and she immediately said, "We don't have anything." She could have at least faked tapping on her keyboard. Another time I needed a referral and the office staff said I didn't need one. I argued forever on the phone with the staff and finally drove in and walked in to talk to the staff and Dr. Natividad. Finally, I got my referral, but what a waste of time for me! I also don't like that Dr. Natividad seems to be offering strange services that don't relate to her practice, like botox. (I heard this on the recording while on hold.) It seems like she really needs to make money or something. The ads for extra services are kinda tacky. Although her office is very convenient to my house and office, I'm thinking of switching simply because I just don't have the energy to deal with her rude office staff. After an initial visit I followed up with a email question and never received a response. I returned for a follow up visit I was refused service. I had an appointment at 10:30 am and they sent me a bill at 10 am. I didn't have the full amount on me and asked to make a partial payment. They demanded payment in full and would not let me see the doctor. I am immuno-compromised and we are in a pandemic. Go anywhere else. They do not care about patients. read more

I was in need of a doctor and was looking for someone in my health network and a female doctor. After reading reviews on yelp I decided to go see her. The male receptionist/assistant was very kind and helpful and got me in the next week. When i arrived, I barely waited to see the Doctor. She was warm and genuinely interested in my issues. She also gave me some samples to hold me over until my health insurance from my new job kicked in. She is great and I would recommend her. read more

I love Dr. Natividad. I've been seeing her for almost 7 years now, and feel extremely lucky to have her as my primary care physician. She truly LISTENS and takes the time to understand who I am, and how my health is, down to the smallest detail. I just had my most recent annual physical with her. She spent 30 minutes talking to me (talking WITH me, not at me, or in a distracted manner, just WITH me in the most respectful caring manner ever). About my health, my family's, how I've been doing during COVID, etc. Through the course of that discussion, she reminded me of little health related things that I wouldn't have thought to bring up. But because she took the time to care and listen, I left the office feeling like she really knows who am I, and how I'm doing. She exemplifies bedside manner like no other doctor I've ever had. Also, working with her office is easy. I am able to make an appointment pretty quickly (they offer virtual visits as well) each time I call. And her phlebotomy staff is friendly and skilled too (no multiple pokes to draw blood--I hate that). All in all, I highly recommend! read more

Dr. Natividad is one of the best primary care physicians I've had. She is very thorough, she reads your chart before you see her, she asks a lot of questions, she offers help, and she is not judgmental. Most importantly, she takes the time to listen to me instead of rushing. And she follows up. She called me after a blood test came up funny during my physical and asked me to come in to retest it. I've never had any problems with her office staff, everything has always run really smoothly and everyone has been polite. But even if I did, I would probably overlook it because I think I could put up with it to receive quality care. read more

She's a wonderful primary care physician. Her practice, Advent Health Group, has a majority of female doctors and PAs. Members of her staff speak Spanish and other languages. I'd recommend the medical group to anyone. read more

Since she left, I've being seeing Dr. Natividad for all my primary care needs...from the sniffles to a back injury... and she's been great. Please see previous review for further info...Recently, I made the mistake of giving this practice one last opportunity. I had hoped that with the practice changing locations, maybe there would be a change in staff or at least Dr. Natividad would maybe have more control over how her staff represents her practice. I should have stuck with my own advice. Not only has it been a huge challenge to ever get in touch with a doctor or a nurse, the office staff actually attempts to provide medical advice in lieu of following through with ensuring the doctor (or nurse) contacts the patient. Don't even get me started on being able to see anyone in the practice if I'm sick--I had given up on seeing Dr. Natividad due to her never being available, but I haven't even been able to see a nurse/one of her peers when sick. Furthermore, echoing my original review--the staff lacks any level of professionalism, kindness, or understanding--and expanding on that: YOU WORK WITH PEOPLE. PEOPLE--MOSTLY SICK PEOPLE--ARE YOUR CUSTOMER BASE. If you hate working with the patients--THE CUSTOMERS of the practice--then GET OUT OF THE CUSTOMER SERVICE BUSINESS. You have to answer the phone. You have to relay and address patient requests. You have to see patients on a daily basis. You have to have manners. You can't talk about the patient's medical issues to your co-worker (hello, HIPAA laws), and especially should have the better sense to do so while the patient is still in earshot. You can't fax the patient someone else's paperwork and then laugh about it when I call to let you know I received someone else's file including her social security number and lab results. It's not funny, and it's illegal, whether or not intentional. Please take more pride in your work. I have rarely encountered such poor customer service, manners, and tact in a business. I would think that with Dr. Natividad being so caring and kind that it would either rub off on her staff, or that she would at least have the forethought to hire people who effectively represent her. I'm not sure if the staff is under-trained, poorly educated on customer service, or just miserable in general, but regardless of the reason there is no excuse for one human to speak rudely to another human. At least do the bare minimum to be polite, even if it is fake. Dr. Natividad, I have tried on numerous occasions to speak with you directly regarding my patient chart as well as your staff. I'm not sure if you have not received the messages, or maybe are too busy to follow-up, but please be aware of the many reviews here and understand what your staff is doing to your business and professional image. I'm sorry, but I can no longer recommend your services to anyone, even with the disclaimer regarding your staff. The interactions have just gotten too unprofessional, beyond rude/brash/short (I can think of many other words), and frankly nearly ridiculous for an organization that works with people and should be focused on providing a positive patient experience. read more

Dr Natividad is the best of the bests!!! I am her patient since 2005 and I never had any problems with her! She dose not miss anything, and she takes your health and your well being very seriously. She always refers the best specialist in the area and she is very caring and detailed. I hate when people give 1 star to the doctor because they are unhappy with her office staff. I would rather had problems with her stuff and be sure that my doctor is amazing and well educated since My life is in fer hands and not in Kevin's/Brendan's, etc. hands!!!! read more

Here's an update: FInally Cherlle got tired of me calling every 20 minutes and told me she would speak to her office manager to see if they could just write me a prescription for an antibiotic. Well, funny enough--the phone lines are down from 12:45-2pm for their lunch and the office manager didn't call me back. Then immediately at 2pm I call back and it goes to their answering service--they didn't turn their phone lines back on until about 2:10pm. When I finally speak to Cherelle again, I asked her what her office manager said and she puts someone named Brigitte on the phone with me who proceeded to tell me they don't write prescriptions for antibiotics over the phone and the soonest they could see me was Friday. I told her she should have trained Cherelle to know this so I wasn't sitting around waiting for them to come back from their damn lunch break! What kind of incompetence!!!!!!!!!!!! Arghhh!!!!!!!!!! Then when I asked Brigitte what she did she told me she was part of the clinical staff and when I asked her what that meant she repeated "clinical staff." I again told her I don't understand-are you a doctor, a receptionist, what does clinical staff mean? I was trying to figure out why Cherelle would put me on the phone with her, rather than the office manager I was supposed to speak with. The only thing I could come up with was that Brigitte was polite, whereas Cherelle--not so much. I plan on writing a letter to doctor Natividad because I really like her but how can she employ people who do not care AT ALL about her patients??!!! BLOWS MY MIND. I'll be headed over to urgent care today I guess. Usually I love this office however today, NYE, I called and spoke to the MOST unpleasant receptionist--Cherelle/Sharelle I don't know how to spell it. I don't get it--why do you have to be SO RUDE? I'm calling your office because I am SICK and when I ask you, since you are all booked for today, if you can call me if anyone cancels bc I work down the street, you yell at me and say "No, ma'am we don't do that. The woman who called before you asked me the same thing and I'm not doing it for her either. Our office doesn't do that." I mean this receptionist had a major bug up her butt and I just left another doctor for having rude receptionists. I do not have time to deal with these rude jerks--especially when I am sick! Where is the cool receptionist that has the amazing voice that I always say should do voice-overs??? Haha maybe I'll call back later. But seriously I am considering changing my doctor bc I can't deal with the damn rudeness it's just so unnecessary! I would give this place negative 2000 stars if I could. Our appointment was at 2.30pm and we were not even seen by a doctor until 3.30pm- that's an hour long wait. A long time for a small practice with like, 2 other patients on the roster. Everyone who works here seems to legitimately hate their job, from the receptionist to the technicians. They're all stunningly rude and unpleasant. We have since switched to a different healthcare provider, and are so much happier. read more

The office staff here are outrageously rude and disorganized. I saw the receptionist yell at a woman who had been in a car accident after failing to explain their business procedures to her. I have had appointments repeatedly rescheduled without apology and although the Doctor herself is quite good, I will not be coming back. I can't believe I haven't written a review sooner! I have been a patient of Dr. Natividad's since I moved to the DC area in 2001. I have since moved 2 times, each time further outside the beltway, and I continue to see Dr. Natividad. She was my brother's doctor and diagnosed, during a routine physical, an underlying heart condition that he had been living with that other doctors missed. He raved about her so I decided to try her. In the almost 20 years now that I have been going to her (and my husband, as well) she has always been extremely thorough without being an alarmist. When I did need to be referred out she has always sent me to top-notch specialists. She is extremely responsive, has the best bedside manner, and is an excellent listener. She has been able to diagnose problems quickly and find solutions, often homeopathic ones, and doesn't automatically jump to pharmaceuticals. When I did need pharmaceuticals she worked with me to get the right meds. When she orders an addiational test it is because it is needed. Testing is costly, time consuming, and anxiety producing yet without it many conditions would go undiagnosed so I appreciate how she is always able to manage that delicate balance. I have been very lucky with my health but just yesterday I had a scare and the way Dr. Natividad and her staff handled it reminded me why I love this doctor and her practice so much. She called me back within minutes when I was obsessing over a test result that I didn't understand. I managed to get an appt for follow up testing almost immediately and her new staff was lovely to deal with and had all the paperwork faxed over to radiology instantly. The front desk (all relatively new) seem genuinely happy and ready to help, which is rare for a doctor's office and not always the case in her office in the past (which is a small price to pay for a great doctor). I am very health conscious and trust Dr. Natividad with my life. I just call or make an appt without worrying that the staff will be nasty or that she will send me on a medical wild goose chase. I never use Dr. Google and that is how it should be! read more

Dr. Natividad is great. The administrative assistants (or whatever their title is) are absolutely oblivious. I am going to switch to another doctor SOLELY because of them. Ms. Skalinskaya "don't argue with me how medicine works" - are you joking me? Your sole purpose is to handle administrative matters and you cannot even dial my number. Dorothy we aren't in Oz anymore. You'll understand that lead in if, like me, you've been a long-term patient (over 10 years). I read some of the other reviews and would acknowledge that I too experienced some less than professional service from the reception staff during the "dark" years. But now I'm here to tell you that Dr. Natividad has heard our complaints because heads have rolled and things have drastically CHANGED for the Better. Along with a new location with FREE onsite parking (check).The new team is top-notch. Pleasant when they answer the phone (check). Apologetic when they ask you to hold briefly (check). Courteous when you arrive at reception (check). Professional conversations while patients are waiting within earshot (check). No condescending attitudes (check). Better communication directly with the doctor and/or PA via the patient portal (check). If you want a non-emergency appointment with Dr. Natividad you will still need to be patient. Her schedule is booked but you can get in. Her PA Chantelle Powell is amazing too--very personable, capable, efficient and provides the same quality of service I'm used to getting from Dr. Natividad. I don't know about you but when I'm sick, I just want to be seen so when I call for a last minute appointment, I'm happy to take whomever I can get. The point to me is that they can accommodate me. I'm very happy that Dr. Natividad took the steps needed to make her practice top-notch. She and her current staff should be encouraged to keep up the good work. And I encourage you to give them "a/or another" chance to impress you. read more

Dr. Natividad is wonderful. She's very through, asks a lot of questions and seems to care about the health of her patients. I give her five stars easy. The staff is so terrible that I don't think I can go back to this office. I was told that my blood work would be back on a Wednesday. I called on Thursday after hearing nothing on Wednesday, and the response I got was "Yeah, we're really busy," and then I was hung up on. Called again the next day and was told "She hasn't gotten to them yet," when I asked if the person on the phone could take my information to make sure the doctor could call me, she responded "yeah, we don't really do that." It's now been one week since my last phone call, and when I called again this morning I was basically berated for bugging the girl. For what it's worth, I have been going to this doctor's office for the past 5 years, but being hung up on twice pushes me past my limit of what I can stand. Horrible office staff. Dr. Natividad herself seems very thorough and interested in my well being but her office staff is abysmal. I showed up on time for my office visit and had to wait over 10 minutes to be checked in because everyone was busy. That's fine but as I was standing there, staring off into space, I heard one of the female office staff loudly whisper, "Would someone help this lady she is staring a hole in my head." That was my introduction to the office. A man proceeded to help me and promptly told me I was late. Actually I was on time. Then I had to wait over an hour to see the doctor even though my appointment was at 9am. The office doesn't even open until 8:30 so how they can start off running an hour behind is beyond me. As I waited the office staff had several loud fights among themselves. They were also very loud and rude to people calling to make appointments. It is not worth putting up with this nonsense to see the doctor. I'll be finding a new PCP. read more

I have found Dr. Natividad a warm and patient person. She is very knowledgeable and frankly I found her fantastic. Waiting time was minimal and they got me appointments the next day both times I needed one. I have two complains both dealing with accessibility to the doctors. I have found the desk personnel to not be very patient, expecting you to know things about how they do business and having a bit of an attitude just because you interrupted their day. However, the thing that actually makes me feel I want to switch doctors is that I found it impossible to leave a message for the doctors. There is no email, voice mail box or any possible way for them get your messages. The closest I have gotten in two days of trying to reach Natividad is that they put a note in my file yesterday for her to call me. I feel like I actually have a better chance of her reading this yelp and getting in touch with me then her seeing that note in my file: "Dr. Natividad I'm going on vacation next week on the 14th I need to know If I can still go and what I need to avoid." Other than clerical issues I feel like the medical staff is extremely gifted and I have had a good experience. read more

Five stars for Dr Natividad and Loraine Guthrie, but being a great doctor doesn't do any good if you can't get in to see her. Her office staff is abysmal, with the exception of Kelvin, who is more helpful. They never pick up their phones, they don't deliver messages when they say they will, they give bad information, they're rude, and treat you like you're an imposition whether you need an appointment or are having some kind of emergency. I've had enough. I've been seeing Dr Nat. for 6 years, but I'm leaving the practice because her office staff is just that bad. read more

Dr. Natividad: is amazing !!! She is always helpful, listens, takes time with me, and genuinely cares about my well-being. She is busy, so it may take some time to get a call back. But she has helped me with major health concerns very effectively for years. I have to drive 45 minutes each way to see her. So she'd better be good, right?! Ha! Great bedside manner and very knowledgeable. The staff: can be hot or cold. They are under a lot of pressure so I try to give some leeway. I have spoken to a rude person now and then. That means I might have to call a couple of times to get what I need. Dr. Natividad is worth that little hassle. Also when I expressed how urgent things were, they definitely were more attentive and helpful. p.s. They just moved their offices in Nov. 2016 from Ballston to near VA Hosp Center. I have gone to Dr. Natividad for over ten years. I took a brief respite when I went with Kaiser Permanente, but I changed my health insurance so I could go back to Dr. Natividad. She is a terrific primary care physician, great bedside manner. Yes, there are times that you may have to wait past your appointment time, but that is because she really does spend time listening and talking to you - which is a rare commodity these days. There have been complaints about the office staff, but I have seen a marked change for the better. They're not perfect but are improving. I guess that these reviews are taken seriously. read more

Dr. Natividad is a caring, knowledgeable and compassionate doctor. Her "office manager" Keisha is a callous, disinterested, rude and dismissive creature. The rest of the staff are fine (Kelvin is actually very good with patients). I am currently searching for a new doctor. They cancelled my appointment TWICE and would not give me another one until 3 weeks later. My initial appointment was made in February for a March appointment (cancelled twice). I also had to INSIST I wanted a health exam , NOT a follow-up which Keisha insisted that is what I should be scheduled for. This woman is not FIT for her job. I've been a patient at this practice for the past five years and have rarely, if ever, experienced the issues others have cited. From her front office staff to the phlebotomists to medical assistants to the PAs/Dr. Natividad, my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. Yes, I've had to wait beyond my scheduled appointment time but never more than 15-20 minutes (on a bad day). The medical team are warm, caring individuals who seem genuinely interested in my personal health. Dr. Natividad (and the PA I've seen) take time to listen and find solutions.
