There are plenty of high-top tables and booths to accommodate a decent crowd. MaGillycuddy's Bar is one of those places that instantly makes you want to settle in and stay awhile. The atmosphere strikes that perfect balance between cozy and relaxed, thanks in no small part to the awesome tin ceiling-- it kind of gives this place a vintage charm you don't see often. The crowd is just what one would expect, just regular folks enjoying a libation and watching the Wild game. And they have pulltabs!! We settled in on a high-top table and ordered beers and our lunch. The Nashville Hot Shrimp is a must-try. just the right amount of heat, and packed with flavor. The Guinness cheeseburger is an open-faced burger topped with fries, Guinness cheese sauce, and, of course, bacon. The baked potato soup was soupy with hardly any potatoes in it. My medium steak was rare and had to be sent back. The prime rib was served without horseradish and we had to remind her to bring it. The prime rib was cold upon arrival. Our table did not have any condiments (the other tables all had a condiment stand with ketchup, mustard, salt, pepper, etc.) and none were ever offered our brought. Oh, and by the time she returned for me to send my steak back, the others were pretty much done eating. When the server brought our check, she did apologize for our inconvenience, but no effort was made to comp our bill or ensure our satisfaction. (We were so ready to go at this point we did not ask for a manager). So disappointing... And they really weren't all that busy.

I'm trying to think of any place at any time where a hamburger was so bad, but can't come up with anything. It wasn't burnt, it just tasted like it was cooked from frozen and sat on the grill for the entire 70 minutes we waited and slowly heated the life out of the meat. It was almost like they wanted it to be horrible. I've never been to a place that charged for fried onions on the burger. French fries were clearly from frozen and the freezer burn taste was strong. And due to the wait, arrived cold. We did have wings that were pretty good, sauces were nicely done. As far as ambiance, there were tons of televisions but all were showing the game show network, really? The NBA playoffs were on and we're showing Family Feud on every single TV, weird. This was the only food place in town that was open, in the future we'll go to another town. And I will not be visiting the butcher either, if you can't cook a burger I have doubts you'd know how to butcher the meat. I'm surprised the people who live in Kimball would ever go to this place.
