My frustration was that she never told us about being able to add fish when we ordered and after I did order, how hard would it have been to just add the $5 to the tab for the two extra pieces. Again, the food was great, very friendly staff, but being charged full price like I was, isn't right. Looks like I'll find somewhere else for fish fry Fridays. ***UPDATE*** I received immediate communication back from the owner and she indicated that it was a mistake on their part. I should have been able to add the two pieces for the $5. The owner was very friendly and offered to make things right, which I plan to take her up on. The food was amazing, the staff was very friendly, but the owner's response puts them at the top. You don't see that very often these days. I'll be back for the fish and then I'll be back some other time for the burgers, because the burger menu looked awesome. If you're ever in the Fredrick area, stop at the Barrel House for some great food at great prices.

Decorate floor to ceiling in natural wood and spice it up with taxidermy. Now add people, sometimes a lot, sometimes a few. Always loud, with or without live music. The menu is classic tavern food with an emphasis on pizza and burgers. Having had the pizza a couple of times, I find it to be generously topped and well prepared. The appetizers are good and my clam chowder was solid. My dining partners have also been happy with our experience at the restaurant. We've also been pleased with the staffing and service during our visits. When we visit the area, there is a good chance we will give the tavern a visit.
