The Lions Club is a civic organization founded…read morein 1917 by Chicago businessman Melvin Jones in order to bring together business clubs to address the social problems created as a result of WWI. By 1920 the Lions were international with chapters in Canada. In 2017 the Lions Club celebrated their 100th anniversary in Chicago where they were founded. Today there are 1.4 million people who are Lions positively impacting their communities with service projects. A charter member of the Coral Springs Lions club was Lewie Mullins, the first elected mayor of Coral Springs. Mullins was a Coral Ridge Properties Vice President who was the first developer of Coral Springs. Mullins also helped build the Covered Bridge in town. Sadly he passed away at the young age of 49 after only two years in office. Lions Park was dedicated on June 6, 1970. It was the first park in Coral Springs. The land for the park and Hunt Elementary were donated by Coral Ridge Properties to the school board who then donated back 6 acres for the park. Lions Club members John Nekich and Col Ralph Gray fundraised to build the baseball diamond which was used by the first little league in the city. The early Coral Springs community enjoyed the weekly BBQ's sponsored by Coral Ridge Properties along with baseball and softball games. The park was the end of the town parade route and held the celebrations after. Today Lions Park is still bringing the community together. Park amenities include basketball courts, benches, concession stands, grills, pavilions a playground, picnic tables, restrooms, sand volleyball courts, softball/baseball fields, a paved walking trail, and tennis courts. The Lions Clun is still an active organization in the city today.

I would do it again next year. Its a driving experience. They had a sign of a station to listen to. I got static so I used mine. You have to stay inside the car. They had a bathroom stop halfway. It was around thirty dollars and you had the option of buying 3D glasses for $6, ouch a little overpriced for paper glasses. I did buy them lol. What the glasses did was that it added a figure to the lights. My glasses had snowman and if I moved they moved with me. It was cool. The snowman were everywhere. My son got candy cane. It was the same experience. The staff seemed to be enjoying themselves. Some really got into the holiday spirit. Everyone was very cheerful here. It was a happy atmosphere. I was glad I came.

Hounce houses, photo opportunities, pumpkin patch, pig races, hayrides and more! The kids and us had a blast. With the overwhelming amount of people that came, it never felt so crowded that you could not participate in what you wanted. Some lines, but not always. It was pretty well organized too. Props to the staff on that! The day was beautiful, and we got through everything we wanted to in the 3 hours we were there!

They were among a half dozen sharecroppers who eventually were able to buy the land they farmed enabling them to work for themselves. Tony Mitchell helped those in his community get business loans and Cheatham Moore was the first African-American appointed to the City's Housing Authority. Mitchell and Moore were both instrumental in getting the city to create Westside Park in 1951 so that African-Americans in the segregated city would have a place for recreation. The park has now been named the Mitchell Moore Park and Community Center to honor the men's legacy. You can find the 16.1 acre Mitchell Moore Park next to Blanche Ely High School. Park amenities include a 10,000 square foot community center which has a gymnasium, arts and crafts room, meeting rooms, and kitchen. The park also has five lighted basketball courts, football/soccer field, picnic pavilion, playground area, lighted softball/baseball fields, four lighted tennis courts, volleyball courts, and the Houston/ Sworn Aquatic Center with 9, 25 yard lap lanes and 2, one meter spring boards. In 2021 The Orange Bowl Committee and the City of Pompano Beach partnered together to create a 4 million dollar recreation facility including a new football field known as Orange Bowl Field at Mitchell Moore Park. The Orange Bowl Committee's Legacy Parks program has provided over $21.5 million worth of improvements to selected South Florida parks and recreational facilities. Other improvements to the park included new synthetic turf football field, an electronic scoreboard, a new press box, shaded seating, an enhanced walking trail, and upgrades to the two existing baseball fields, and building refurbishments. Mitchell/Moore Park brings the community together. The park hosts many events. sports teams, lessons, and activities like summer dive in movies at the pool. The football field is state of the art and gives the youth in the city a safe place to practice sports and learn all the great lessons that come with it. There are so many recreational opportunities to enjoy in this well appointed park.

Since then, they have done our weekly maintenance (or at least were supposed to have weekly service). From the get go, I should have taken the ill communication as a I sign, but I proceeded to hire Alan and his team to do the job. The initial repairs went okay. The workers were messy, came and went as their leisure, but the job eventually got done. There was an issue with the pool light installation and Alan wanted to charge us for whatever their snag was, but it was never stated in the contract that additional costs may incur so we did not end up having to pay. I think this decision ended up coming back to haunt us... After the repairs, we decided it would be best that Larry's continue to do our weekly pool service since we had just invested a lot of money and I would like the same company to maintain the pool 'just in case' something happened. Fast forward 2 months later, the pool light fell out. It was 'fixed.' It then fell out again a couple of months later- 'fixed' again. And just last month, it fell out again- Alan told my husband "We'll have someone out there to fix it. It'll be no problem." After weeks of calls/texts reminding him that the pool light needed to be repaired, he finally told us via text we have to pay and that someone must have jumped on it. No such incident happened. The light was faulty since they replaced it! The weekly service itself was more like "the whenever the technician could make it out" service. We've heard excuses of weather and personal situations followed by a 'sorry' with no actual resolution. Alan is the definition of an unprofessional business owner. He's out to get new business and lacks in maintaining existing accounts. He nickels and dimes everything- monthly charge increases, regular calls about different pool parts needing to be replaced (which we always ended up paying them to do) etc. He has no idea what is going on in the field (proven by his common "Oh, I thought that was handled" response). His communication skills leave a lot to be desired. Returning calls is a rarity and his texts come across as being quite unprofessional. There are too many other people out there trying to make an HONEST living. I recommend giving one of those pool companies your deserved business.

Larry Pool and Spa in Coral Springs. Alan Debs the owner is a charming guy but the job from the…read morestart went wrong. One of his workers installed the new tiles around the pool crooked. They took tiles out and re installed them again crooked. The coping (bricks) around the pool was cut wrong so they ruined the bricks. They took out about 25 linear feet of the coping (bricks) and installed new bricks to replaced the ruins ones. After many incidents , the owner brought a new crew. The crew took off the crooked tiles and re installed them properly. They installed the euro-tile with a defective sealer according to his worker. They attempted to removed the sealer with pressure cleaning but it keeps cracking up and much of the dirt is trapped under the sealer. Within days after they finished the re-surface of the pool the spa brand new surface turned yellow damaging the surface as well as the light chrome finished. They blamed the salt system was faulty. They did fix the salt system and the pool surface however the chrome light fixture is black again. I found my self many times discussing whats going on with the worker and trying to find solutions. The worker at the end of the day didn't fix the problem and the owner after many attempts hasn't either. The last thing, the slate rocks that were installed are full of calcium and is there fault because they are the ones who maintained the pool until August 2014. I gave Larry's Pool every opportunity to make this right, I waited patiently before I left this review, I even text and email the owner a month ago Sept 11 2014 and so far NOTHING. Its been over a year and Larry Pool have not fixed my issues and is obvious that they wont. Safe yourself the trouble and do not hire them.
