This is definitely my go to Mexican restaurant. I've been coming here pretty much since they opened, and my son was in a highchair. I love to come here because of the raspberry margaritas but when I came tonight, they didn't have any. I'm hoping they didn't get rid of them. I ended up getting a frozen peach margarita which was really delicious and I got the steak quesadillas. Both were equally delicious. Jonathan was our server and he said he'd only been there two days but he seemed like he's been doing it forever. He was very attentive and friendly. Again, I wish they would redo the bathrooms because they look pretty rough. I didn't sit in the bar area because there was live music and it was extremely loud so I ended up sitting in the dining area. They do have a cute little bar where I'm sure they have a lot of regulars that go there. If you haven't ever been there, I highly suggest giving it a chance. read more

This is hands down the best Mexican restaurant in the area! Their carne asada is the best I've ever had...just wish I could replicate it at home! Even the chips in a takeout order are warm, crispy, and delicious. The service is impeccable, too. The staff are all so friendly and we never have to wait for drink or chip refills. This was our first time here today and everything was very tasty and fresh. The Spanish Chicken Soup was amazing and full of flavor and chicken and having the rice with it was a good combo. My Grilled Shrimp was overcooked but everything else was delicious. My hubby had the fish tacos and he loved them my kids had the Steak and Chicken Fajitas and they enjoyed them. I've been wanting to check this place out for a while, so I decided to come for my birthday. The live music is a great vibe except if seated too close it becomes too loud. We got queso which was not good. It tasted like mac and cheese sauce which was interesting. The food was good, they put lots of cheese on top and inside of my chimichanga. I would give this place a 4 out of 5 stars. The atmosphere was amazing! From the host to the waiters to the owners I felt like they took real dedication to make everyone feel welcomed. Took us less than 5 seconds to get seated and since it was nice weather we asked to be seated outside. While in the meantime we waited on our food we had complimentary chips and salsa, had live music, and outside games like corn hole. The music was my favorite part as he let us do song request. I ordered the chicken chimichanga that came with beans and rice. The only con I had about the food was that the chimichanga was kind of soggy and the chicken kind of tasted burnt. I'm lying here, on my comfy Hampton Inn bed, almost doubled over in pain. How could an appetizer and a veggie side fill me beyond full? Could it have been the 3 Tito's raspberry lemonades? Uh, maybeeeeee. After fighting Birmingham traffic (Huntsville may be the biggest city in Alabama but Birmingham definitely wins with traffic). I decide that I was done driving and chose to walk across the hotel parking lot rather than go back out into that mess. Good thing I wasn't driving - did I mention Tito's? It was super windy, yet I, and apparently most other diners, chose to eat outside on the large, semi covered patio. It was so windy that my extra crisp, extra delic chips were flying off of my table. I wasn't exceptionally hungry so I chose to stick with an app - quesadillas, to which I added carnitas. The 8 little wedges, served with lettuce, tomato, and a little guac and sour cream, didn't look like much but turned out to be way more than enough. They were absolutely delicious. Because I "only" ordered an app, I also ordered a side of street corn. I didn't really care for it, the cheesy "crust" was just too overpowering. I'd be remiss to not comment on the raspberry lemonade(s). They were good but all three were made differently, one being so tart it reminded me of the Atomic Sour candy my kids used to eat. If I had to do it over, I'd probably opt for one of the large variety of margaritas or another tequila drink. The girl at the front desk of the Hampton Inn recommended that I eat at Margarita Grill. She didn't steer me wrong - maybe y'all should offer her a referral discount! read more

This place is one of our favorite go to for Mexican food. They always have plenty of space and I love their outdoor seating for our kids. The outdoor area has fans when it's hot out and heaters when the weather cools down. Service is typically fast and at tentative. The food is a never fail. We have our usuals which for me is the mahi mahi sizzler. The rice is flavorful and different from the other local Mexican restaurants, which I love. Definitely recommend for the vibes and atmosphere. read more

And when I brought it to her attention, she argued. Then I ordered dinner and mentioned soft tacos and when they arrived, they were meat only with no sauce and when I mentioned it, she said oh I thought she said no sauce that's what I realize she didn't understand English read more

If you are looking for authentic Mexican food, don't come here. The service was great and the restaurant itself was nice. There is live music every night and options for seating. You can sit outside on the heated patio, inside, and outback where it is pet friendly. The food itself was not the greatest. I am not a fan of mesquite charcoal and that is how they prepare all their meats. My kids got cheeseburgers with fries and I got chicken nachos. My kids did not like the mesquite patty so they barely touched their food. I was disappointed in the nachos overall because it was just chips with cheddar cheese on top, microwaved. Only reason we came here is because of the convenience, it was right by our hotel. read more

Nov 14, 2021 - Driving back from Arkansas, we stopped for the evening in Pelham (just So of Birmingham, AL). The Margarita Grill was outside our Hotel. Walking distance..... GOOD.... really didn't want to drive anymore !!. Parking lot was packed, inside was bustling with servers getting meals to tables. Very crowded. Food smelled good. Found seats at the bar, they immediately brought over some chips & salsa to munch on...(Salsa was very mild in heat but had good flavor). Good music playing. We ordered regular Margaritas...nice pour. Not too sweet. Then ordered Tamales for dinner. Moist and very, very tasty and full of flavor. Still needed to ask for "hot sauce"... but overall, delicious. Didn't get to the restroom to see cleanliness since we had the Hotel room across the parking lot. We did notice servers wiping down (sanitizing) the tables and seats though. It was good to see with Covid "still lingering". I would recommend Margarita Grill as a good place to have a meal and we would stop again when in the area. read more

I've been to Hoover, Alabama twice for work travel. Both times I came to Margarita Grill. Once for lunch, and once for dinner. Both times were good. For dinner they had live music outside which was really nice. It was country music and the weather was perfect and the atmosphere was great outside. My server was really nice and attentive, checking on me enough to always keep my drink full but not too much that it was annoying. I got a burrito in a bowl which was REALLY tasty. I got steak and the steak was good - not too tough or chewy, and all the rest of the ingredients felt fresh. The second time I went for lunch, and again sat outside. The atmosphere was nice and the waitress was attentive and quick and friendly. This time I got the taco salad, which was tasty and fresh. I definitely plan on coming back here on all my future trips to Hoover! It's got to be one of the best restaurants in the area. Oh also - free chips and salsa on the table right when you sit down. Me and my husband came around 7pm and was seated immediately. They gave us the choice of outside or inside and we chose outside. The outside sitting was nice but the tables were super close together so we could hear everything our neighbors were saying. We got sat by the big group and they were super loud. The group isn't effecting my score though. My husband got the Queso Flameado and it was really really good! I had a couple bites and I had wished I had gotten it instead. Super cheesy. I got the Gold Chicken and it was good, but the chicken tasted like smoked chicken, which is okay, just isn't my preferred way of eating chicken. Over all both me and my husband loved it and will be back the next time we're in town. read more

Wonderfully authentic Mexican restaurant. Service was amazing. They constantly refreshed salsa and chips and drinks. I highly recommend the Casa Cazuela, as the sauce is wonderful. The flour tortillas were fresh and homemade. They also have a beautiful outdoor patio that is covered, they have heaters and fans outside, and they say there is music nightly after 6 on the patio. My husband and I came in with some friends. We were seated quickly, clean restaurant, and fast service. The tortilla chips taste fresh and are on the thinner side (which I prefer). Salsa was tasty, not too spicy. I will say it's a little on the pricier side for Mexican food. I ordered the Javier salad and they gave me an amazing amount of guacamole which is so appreciated. It is not a Mexican restaurant, it is more Latin food with Cuban and Brazilian dishes. Portions are small and the prices are quite high. The regular salsa is just tomato sauce and the spicy salsa has little flavor but has plenty of heat. The cheese dip is not typical queso blanco and is mostly flavorless. They are thin and crispy. The salsa was good too. We also ordered their cheese dip, which was really tasty. For my meal, I ordered a chicken burrito that came with rice. The burrito was good. The rice was good, but it was just a tad bit salty. One of my friends got the table side guacamole and she let me try it. They put a pepper in the guacamole. I believe it was jalapeño. The guacamole was fresh and tasty, but I did have to add some salt to it. For our group to be around 14 people, we were constantly being given refills and being checked on. The service was friendly and fast. One of my friends ordered a drink that wasn't on the menu. It was called Liquid Marijuana. I tried a sip of it and it was pretty good. It tasted like it had rum in it. It's a bright blue drink. Overall, I liked this place and I probably visit again. read more

I've been coming here for over a year and i've never had as bad of an experience as I did today. My boyfriend and I work near this location and decided to come in for our lunch break. When we walked in, employees were standing around talking, even looked back and saw us, yet didn't greet us. (maybe 2 tables in the whole restaurant) My boyfriend suggested we seat ourselves to get their attention, but I went up and asked if they were open (to be polite) and we finally were seated. It took 10 minutes for someone to get our drink orders, and another 15 along with waving someone down so we could order our meals. Every server that interacted with us acted like we were an inconvenience and we did not feel welcome. We had to ask for to-go boxes since it took so long. The food tasted good like usual, until i found a hair in the rice. Neither me or my boyfriend have black hair. I know restaurants aren't always on their A-game, and mistakes happen, but as a fellow restaurant industry employee, this was a horrible experience. (They also close the kitchen at 11 and the bar is open until 12 which is not stated on the website or anywhere in the restaurant) read more
