I've eaten at several hot restaurants this year in Houston, Austin, DFW, NOLA - this is my favorite of 2025. The spaghetti, while not traditional, was the best I've had in years - packed with well seasoned and tender ground beef and sizable chunks of garlic and carrot forming the rustic bolognese - and above all, it was served piping hot which can be uncommon! The salad was fresh and crispy and well seasoned, packed with fresh herbs and a tangy ranch. The grilled bread with Burrata and roast tomatoes was hearty and irresistible. To top it all off, they have Lone Star tallboys. Key Lime Pie was dank. Overall, awesome spot!! read more

This local restaurant in Marfa is not to be missed for its friendly service and excellent food. Don't be fooled by the relatively small menu because each item was outstanding. The butternut squash enchiladas & spaghetti bolognese were made with fresh ingredients and full of flavor. The simple salad was anything but simple with the perfect hint of dressing; the flavor was there but no oily aftertaste. Margaret's was a wonderful addition to our Marfa trip. We walked in on a Wednesday and were quickly seated at the bar/ center area. The menu was filled with so many delicious options. Excellent food, excellent service. The chef prepares the salmon and steak perfectly! Our main courses were accompanied by lovely fresh salads. We were delighted by our experience and our 5 year old was absolutely devouring the entrées. On a Wednesday night in Marfa we were greeted by a delightful, attentive staff. The kitchen is tuned in to the dining room and the love for their craft is evident. You can see the love and attention to detail with everything in this establishment. Wow! We stopped in here for dinner this past Friday night, our front desk of the hotel recommended it. Let me tell you, it was delish! We were amazed by the foods taste, it's appearance and the amount you get. Was recommended this restaurant by the hostess at El Cosmico and woweee it was so worth it. It could be difficult to get a table with a group as they tend to fill up and don't take reservations but my boyfriend and I were totally content to sit at the bar and were seated immediately. We split the sausage and cheese bread appetizer and they were delicious!! A great combination of complementing flavors that is bold and unique. I got the Red Snapper and my boyfriend got the Flank steak and both were incredible. Everything was cooked perfectly and the sides paired so well! I normally hate horseradish but the sauce they put on the steak was incredible! I asked for a glass of their house red to come out with our dinner plates and our server did exactly that while also juggling all of her other tables. Margaret's was super highly recommended to me by the lovely Jasmine who works at the front desk at the Hotel Paisano - she said that the staff is uber friendly and attentive and she was absolutely right! I popped into Margaret's on a busy Friday night and was immediately warmly greeted and was able to snag a seat at the bar. When you walk in, the bar is very long and goes all the way to the back of the restaurant and there is plenty of seating there if it's just you or more in your party. There was also plenty of room sitting at the bar between diners, I didn't feel squished. I'm also only 5 feet tall and I didn't deal with any uncomfortable feet dangling/lower back pain because the bar seats were so comfortable and there was a spot to put your feet. Super friendlly and kind service by every single person working here who I had the pleasure of interacting with. Non- stop smiles and a super attentive staff, checking in to make sure you are doing well and how you are liking your food. I ordered a sweet tea and the Red Snapper with lemony broccolini, Oaxacan grits and salsa verde and it was excellent - so fresh, cooked perfectly and the perfect balance of spicy/citrusy and it was filling while also being light. I also got a slice of the Key Lime Pie to go and it was so yummy! I'm looking forward to coming back again to try more on the menu! Absolutely recommend coming here! read more

Great dining experience. Waiting staff is very friendly and accommodating. We were there early, 5:00 ish maybe, only two other couples there. I just had a Caesar salad and a wild boar sausage (small plate). Both were great. My wife had a gluten free eggplant Parmesan, and she said it was really great. It's something she hasn't been able to have at a restaurant in forever, so she loved it and was actually thankful they do it gluten free. Overall great experience. A local store keeper described it as "elevated bar food" and while that sounds neat and all, I think they are on a higher plane than that. read more

After a disappointing dinner at a nearby restaurant, we decided to try Margaret's our second night in town. Wish we had gone there first. We ordered the anchovy chips and deviled eggs for our appetizers. Both were super good. I especially loved the deviled eggs, which were made from picked eggs giving them an extra kick. Very tasty. We got a very reasonably priced bottle of Mexican sauvignon blanc to accompany our meal. They only serve beer and wine, no hard liquor, but that was okay. There are plenty of bars around town. I got the tuna melt for my entree and it was awesome, sort of like returning to my childhood. My friend got the eggplant and let me sample it. Very good. The server was exactly perfect. She did not hover over us or bug us but was there exactly when we needed her. Oh, and don't forget the key lime pie for dessert. Scrumptious. read more

Super cool little restaurant in downtown Marfa. We started with the deviled eggs. So good. But you have to like pickled eggs. They're a little rubbery. I had the eggplant. It wasn't heated all the way through but the sauce was good and the eggplant tender. My friends had the salmon and bolognese and said both were good. I didn't think they key lime pie was worth it. Loved this place!!! Interior is great with a double bar running the length of the dining room. Other tables are built into the wall and it's a open kitchen concept. Wait staff was very knowledgeable about the menu (and also recommended a great breakfast place for the next morning - Aster). My girlfriend ordered Red Snapper & Grits while I opted for their Spaghetti Bolognese. The serving size of snapper was huge and it was grilled to perfection. Served on a bed of grits with grilled broccolini it was scrumptious!! The Spaghetti Bolognese was very "fresh" tasting with a lighter tomato sauce than your used to seeing in a Bolognese sauce.
