Totally surprised by the quality of the food, which was artful and exceptionally presented French bistro fare. Other aspects need work, but they're brand new. Had dinner, started with a peach and bucheron cheese on arugula salad and had the bouillabaisse for dinner. The salad was perfect - the bucheron was perfectly aged and slightly cooked (broiled?) and seasoned, it paired perfectly with the arugula and peaches, the dressing was nicely balanced - it was deftly topped with a sparing amount of a "granola" that was just perfect. The bouillabaisse was not dramatically tomato, but extremely well balanced with perfectly cooked seafood. The entree was warm, not hot - a flaw shared by my wife's chicken- which I tried and will probably order the next time. It had an almost surreally good bed of potatoes that must have been whipped with cheese - delicious but delicate. The chicken must have been brined- but not overly - it was tender but wasn't salty. The sauce was top rate French. Silky smooth and delicious with a beautiful color. I thought dessert was just ok. Now on to criticism - it wasn't packed, but far too loud. They desperately need sound traps. The decor is not cohesive and the lighting was far too bright for most of our dinner - recessed can lights are not compatible with dining, unless you're in a college dining hall. The reception is amateurish and needs attention. Our waitress is a professional, as was the other service people we interacted with. Their competition is The Grand and Pascal and Sabine. They're head and shoulders above La Mondina (which is a good restaurant). read more
