We bought our tickets on Sunday for Monday. We also purchased two sodas, pizza, ravioli, and popcorn so I could review this theatre properly. We walked in the door the pleasant worker at the front asked if we purchased online tickets we told her yes and food, she stated she just needed to see them. We then proceeded to online pick up counter for food. My husband showed our order to the young man behind counter he handed our cups to him and yelled across to someone that we needed a refund with no further explanation. Unacceptable behavior, I asked another employee why we were unable to get our food and we're informed they do not serve food on Mondays, their website should not allow payment and should state that. read more

We went to see the 40th anniversary special showing of The Muppet Movie, and fortunately the movie was good (how can you go wrong with the Muppets?) because the rest of the experience clearly said, "We don't give a crap about you, just hand over your money". The movie was showing in #8. The seats were modern and comfy as most seating is now, but they were dirty. Garbage was left in the drinkholders. You didn't dare stick your hand in the crack of a seat because they hadn't received a good cleaning in a lonnnnnnng time. Refreshments were extremely overpriced.... $15 for popcorn and a soda, a pair of tickets was nearly $30. My wife had to get up after the movie started rolling and find someone to turn the lights down. The sound was left quiet -- as in at pre - preview level -- the whole time. Our cashier was bored stiff, uninterested and disengaged, as were the concessions folks. Hey, if you hate your job that much, find another line of work! Booo. I have better places to take my entertainment dollars. Next time I hear the theatre industry whining about declining revenue, I'll know why. read more

Let's start with the positive. Dream loungers, multiple screens for many choices, reasonable ticket prices with special deals (Tuesday's for example). Ok... now let's hit the areas for improvement. We purchased tickets on line in advance which is truly the only way to go with in demand new films. We downloaded our tickets to our phones for easy entry. The problem is you still need to get in line for a ticket at the theater (either with kiosk or live person). In Milwaukee area at AMC you simply walk up to the ticket taker and they scan your mobile ticket. Only one of the the three kiosks was able to print tickets and that one was not reading credit cards so a huge non-moving line formed. Luckily my wife and I split up and she was able to move through the much longer live person line faster. There needs to be some customer service training for the staff as well. Each worker we encountered (ticketing, ticket taker, and concessions) was uninterested in helping us. No greeting. No smile. No thank you. The ticket taker even gave us a "I don't make the rules" speech when we asked about scanning our mobile tickets. The bathrooms not clean and only two stalls in the women's room. One stall and one urinal in the men's room. This is the only theater in town and they seem to run it like there is no competition. read more

Theater is clean for the most part, but my biggest issue is the staff. Absolutely no basic manners! Please, thank you, you're welcome etc. no use of them by the staff behind the food counter. A gentleman wearing glasses clearly wanted to be anywhere else besides at work. He was extremely rude....I get not everyone loves their jobs, but basic customer service shouldn't be that hard to give. Theater is fine otherwise. Since they did the total remodel and added a bunch of new amenities, this theater is the best movie theater I have ever been to. The theaters inside are very nice and the staff does a great job at cleaning all the seats and aisles. The staff is friendly and very easy to get along with. If you have a Magical Movies Rewards Card, make sure you ask about your points you have racked up because odds are you have a lot if you are a frequent moviegoer like me. The points work like money and you can use them to buy tickets, snacks, or refreshments. read more

We recently went to see Sing! as a family. Given the price of movies, we made sure to go on a day with a deal. Tuesdays offer $5 seats for all. Thursday offers $5 seats for students plus a free 44oz popcorn. Be sure to buy your tickets in advance to take advantage of these deals as seats sell out quickly and early. We chose to sit in the DreamLounger seats - really the only way to watch a movie now. They were comfortable; however, not as nice as some of the newer theaters offer. The concession stand is new with the typical theater offerings and treats. In addition, there is a Zaffiro's Express location inside. This grill option offers additional food offerings - sandwiches, burgers, pizza, appetizers, and alcoholic beverages. read more

$65 for two to go see a movie. Googling "Aurora Movie tavern" isn't accurate enough for buying online with an iphone apparently and somehow it defaulted to another theater 1000 miles away. The mistake wasn't noticed until the usher read the smallest print in the email (as fast as he found it i'd imagine that happens a lot) and i no longer qualified for a refund since it was less than 60 minutes prior to the movie. read more

Just wanted to add that they recently renovated a theater to the DreamLounger seats and Atmos surround sound. The boyfriend and I saw Star Wars there, and it was quite the experience! The seats have their own cup holders and recline at the punch of a button, and there is a ridiculous amount of leg room. I don't think there is a bad seat in the house! However, I definitely recommend buying tickets in advance, since there are now many fewer seats in the theater, and they are assigned. Which is great in that you don't have to show up early to get a good seat, but bad in that you should probably plan ahead a little. They waive the $1.50/ticket online fee if you have a rewards card, so it's definitely worth getting. Tickets are also a little more expensive ($9.50 each for a matinee), so presumably they're reserving this theater for stuff you really need to see on the big screen. Overall though, as soon as the boyfriend sat down, he announced that he never wants to see a movie another way again. So there you have it. read more

We watched Star Wars here with my family. We sat in the regular theater, not the dream lounge super screen because the lounge seats are assigned seats and we didn't buy our tickets early enough to get my whole family sitting together. The workers were very nice at the ticket booth and concessions. If you get the rewards card you can get coupons for free popcorn occasionally. The seats in the regular theater had plenty of leg room for us tall folks. The ads that play a half hour before the movie were the gross national chain ones, but they kept us reasonably entertained with film trivia. The sound was good. Not too quiet or two loud. The only crummy thing was that when people go out the back exit it washes out the left side of the screen. I didn't see any warning signs saying not to use that door, either. People only used that door during the beginning text scroll and the end credits, so it didn't end up being as big a problem as I first feared. Overall it felt like a big national chain, but at least it was good quality equipment and nice workers. read more

I haven't been to the movies in years and thought I would check out there updated seats and relax to a good movie. I did like the updated food area and the seats where nice.... But the water leaking all over around are seats and the strong smell of mold made it extremely hard to enjoy my night out. Also we were in a late show where the last work was sitting outside smoking and didn't seem to care about cleaning anything... Popcorn on the floor and just like I remember... Don't let the New seats fool you... Its still over priced and not worth going out. If you feel the need, drive 20mins to Appleton. read more

While it's nice they offer $5 Tuesdays it's practically a crime what they charge for concessions. I thought I was in Disney. Almost $7 for a small popcorn that was the size you get for free at carnivals and farm and fleet. And every time I go they have the theatre so hot I roast to death. Those leather seats are HOT! And it feels like they crank the heat way up. read more

I wasn't a big fan of this theater before their remodel, but now I love it. The Dreamloungers are nice and comfy. I love the fact that I can recline and put my feet up while watching the movie. The screens and the surround sound are excellent, really helping to draw you into the fantasy of the movie. And although we don't often partake, I love the new expanded food and beverage offerings, with pizza, burgers, beer and wine being on the menu. Just a couple of things that bug me. 1. Going to the movies is not cheap anymore. To get an evening ticket to the Superscreen will cost you $13.50 per adult. Concessions are expensive-large popcorn and 2 large sodas -$20.00. For me, my wife and my daughter that means a minimum of $55.00 to see a movie on the Superscreen (a little cheaper for regular screen). I do understand that distributors take the lion's share of the box office so that theaters need to make most of their money on concessions, but it is starting to get ridiculous. Tuesdays are $5.00 movies all day long, but if you go in the evening, you need to purchase tickets online as movies often come close to selling out and get there really early as the place is packed with really long lines for the concession stand. 2. With fewer seats in the theaters and the ability to order online, it takes some of the spontaneity out of going to the movies. You better order your tickets online or you risk not getting a seat-oh yeah, that will cost you $1.50 per ticket unless you have a Marcus rewards card. Both of these issues are more about the industry, as a whole, as opposed to this theater, in general. I love coming here and seeing a movie, but with these issues I don't go as often as I used to. I am much more selective about what movies I need to see on a "big" screen and which I can wait for, to see at home. read more

This location is usually pretty busy so it's best to arrive early. There are only 2 lines that can form for tickets, also. They concessions are they best here I believe because they offer Code Red. The screens are pretty nice and adequate. Overall, it's pretty clean here and I like the maze layout more than straight directions. read more

I was just trying to get in to my movie and I pre ordered my ticket online thinking I could get into it because my mom has a job and shouldn't have to sign me in. I was robbed of my 5 dollars because I couldn't get into my movie because I am only 17 years old. So then I went to the self buy checkout the guy with the short blond buzz cut and glasses called me out in front of the theater saying I couldn't buy the tickets from there which I felt was very unprofessional. So he made me buy them from him and I had to buy the only pg movie which was legit ninja. After I bought them he told me "we will throw you out if you go in another movie" which I don't even know why someone would say that to some one. I am very disappointed with my experience and will be going to the Appleton movie theater for now on. read more

We purchased tickets online and when we got there we could not get our tickets. The cashier was no help and the manager acted like we were not telling the truth, by the time we went back out to the car and used our phone to prove that we had purchased the tickets the movie was already playing. The manager did not offer to compensate us for driving 30 minutes to not see a movie and couldn't even guarantee us that the refund went through. I love the new setup, was super excited to check it out last night! However, Zaffiros was closed due to a sick cook, which we were only informed after standing there, along with another couple, waiting to be acknowledged. My husband asked to buy a beer at least and the one employee couldn't serve. We went to get popcorn and icees since our first choices were out of the question, it was the bottom of the barrel for popcorn obviously old (it was a late movie, I get it). The area to get your drinks was absolutely disgusting, not to mention the icees were down all but one red and one Mountain Dew. Wish we would've known that beforehand. All of these things pale in comparison to the fact that the only other employee in sight was apparently an assistant manager who never said a single word to any of us! He walked around us as if we were in the way, sweeping, spraying counters while we were filling our drinks and totally ignored us. With the fact that including customers and employees there was 6-8 people in total around a hello would've been nice. I've seen him yell at a worker to open another register (she was helping a new guy) and then continue to walk away rather than help a customer. The service here is always subpar, maybe it'll get a renovation like the building did. read more
