I am a huge movie fan. I used to be a loyal AMC patron until I found Marcus in Elgin. They have really updated their theater and I love the ability to go on the iPhone app and select my seats. No waiting in line just show the ticket taker my phone and walk right in. The seats are nice recliners and clean! The added restaurant's food is far better than expected. Love the nachos and pizza. Good price too. The best time to go is $5.00 Tuesday's for free popcorn for club members. read more

4-5 stars for seats, serving adult beverages, and extensive food options but 1-2 stars for pricing so averaged 3 stars. maybe I'm cheap but spent about $25 per person for snacks without alcohol and a Sunday afternoon movie. Might go back on special occasions for a date night movie or something but tough to take family for a weekend afternoon flic. read more

Affordable and updated theater with reclining seats. Bathrooms could be bigger and upgraded and the front lobby can be really crowded but for the price on Tuesdays you can't do better! Plus I think this chain is American owned unlike AMC. read more

Great place to catch a great priced movie! Only theater that actually has matinees later than 1pm. Tuesdays gets you free popcorn with the already free reward card when you sign up! My boyfriend and i come as often as we can! read more

We live very close to Marcus Theater.We are going there A lot more because of the change now of the theater.I love the theater seating and all the updates they did. Good movies here. New releases on movies which is great and it's not that far away! And it's cheap!

We unfortunately ended up sitting in the first row in the dream lounger seats, and had the worst movie experience ever, due to being so close to the screen. We were so close that we could see all the little black dots on the screen, which obscured and blurred the picture. We were so close you could not see the whole screen at once and had to keep scanning back and forth to try to get an idea of what was showing. The only way to see the screen at all without craning your back till it was in pain was to fully stretch out the chair. All throughout the movie I had to keep closing my eyes or look down, and after 2 hours of this I got up so nauseous I could barely walk to my car. Never, ever choose a first row seat at this theatre. read more

I've always been very happy with this Theater until you changed your prices. I'm a senior and I've liked the fact I could see a movie in any of your theaters for Five dollars. Then a few weeks ago the price jumped to Six dollars a 20% increase, I was ok with that all those new seats and updating had to cost a bunch. Bot now you have gone way too far raising the price in the Ultra screen theater to Nine dollars and fifty cents that's criminal almost a 100% increase!!!! read more

this is a nice theater at a good location. I like the seats, they slightly recline and you can move the armrests up to be more comfortable. I like that it is not that crowded and more quiet. read more

This theater is also the closets to my house and I use to go there more often. I agree with the previous posts about the staff and the overall atmosphere, both are great! I have no complaints. However, I only gave them 3 stars because of their price to see a matinee. The Charlestowne 18 in St. Charles is a bit further of a drive but it is also a nice theater and does surprisingly cost less. If the Marcus theater lowered it's prices a bit I'd be there every time as it is my first choice. Unfortunately, right now it all depends on the time of the movie I'm going to see. read more

This theater is awesome since the remodel! Seats are great, the place is very modern and always clean. The new food stand is also very good, in my opinion (try the buffalo chicken bites!). The regular concession prices are outrageous, but no more than any other theater. The best part is they did not raise their prices when they remodeled EVERY theater to include the Dream Loungers. They also have tons of specials for $5 movies during the week, and showings of older movies and/or slightly older than new-release kids movies at a discount all the time, especially during school breaks and the summer, for those with kids. read more

I can not believe how disorganized this place is especially under construction. You walk in and there is no direction. We find where we should be standing and the lines are not moving. A lady that appears to be in charge tells everybody to go to the new kiosk. No lines or organization there either. After 25 minutes of trying to get tickets I get to the kiosk and it freezes. I get mine working and the lady "in charge" unplugs it and tells me to get back in line. I left. Maybe they need to stop and think about how to run the place if they plan on being open during construction. I will drive 20 minutes out of my way. The place in Wheaton knows how to run a theatre. read more

Used to be an ok movie theater to go to. Now with lounge seating it has half the seats and if you get a lazy cashier they assign your seat to you instead of letting you select it. But you don't find that out until you get in the movie. Basic theater with premium prices and ridiculous seating. Lousy service with sullen teenagers and low morale. AMC Barrington here i come. It will be worth the trip. read more

Movie start time is 3:40 and it is now 4:15 and the movie has yet to start. I've never been to a theater with a 35 minute delay to the start time. Definitely won't be returning to this location. read more

Love the place. It's the only place I go to see a movie that's in the theaters. The seats are very comfortable. Although some drinks and candy are overpriced, you get free refills on Large Popcorn! Another thing on the negative side is that the theater could be a little cleaner. read more

Love this theater. Reclining lounge chairs, friendly staff, and very clean. Had a problem where we were sold the wrong tickets once and manager gave us new tickets and passes to come back, great customer service. Prices are average, but they have $5 Thursday for students and teachers with ID, I take my kids every week. They also a loyalty program. read more

Reserving "dream lounger" seats online only cost my boyfriend ten bucks for two tickets to a matinee of Paddington (yes, we're both in our late 20s, and we thoroughly enjoyed the movie!). The lounger chairs are pretty darn comfy and awesome. Of course, hearing electronic whirring sounds throughout the movie as people adjust seats is a little annoying. But that's what happens when you give people a piece of furniture (i.e., a toy) they likely don't have at home. Some of the building's hallways are unpainted, which gives the place a drab, depressing look. I hope this means the theater is still undergoing a facelift; it could really use one. There was a little bit of congestion near the box office given how there's only a small space for lines to form. Add a few kids running around, and the experience of getting tickets can easily get overwhelming. But we'd definitely go here again for watching a movie that's been out for over a month at a discounted price on the comfy recliners. read more
