We came here on a Thursday night for a Star Wars Fan Event to see the Mandalorian and Grogu movie the day before its larger release. I purchased my tickets online in advance (about $52 for two people), and it was not IMAX or 3D. As part of the event, there were special pins and drink specials in their bar - the bar is outside the theatre, this is NOT one of those theaters that bring you drinks inside. The posting said "photo ops" but when we got there, it was just one cardboard advertisement. There were special popcorn buckets and toys for sale. I thought the "Fan Event" was a little disappointing overall. There is a big parking lot outside. All of the seats were reclining loungers, and you do reserve your exact seat in advance, which I liked. We did not see a way to turn on heat, so maybe the seats aren't heated. You show a QR code off your email receipt, no printed tickets necessary. Lots of people had brought comfy throw blankets from home and I will definitely do that next time to make my movie more relaxing. read more

Our go to movie theater. Great location, plenty of parking and nice Tuesday deals. I like using their app to purchase my tickets and order certain items in advance. Drink area seems clean and they also have a bar. Lounge chairs in the theater are comfortable and recline. I wish the button with the heat works bit I'm sure the upkeep can be pricy. Seating area are clean most of the time. Every now and then you'll see leftover popcorn from the previous viewing. I like their rewards program too. read more

I don't know what all these one star reviews have been through, I see a lot of "because of this one thing" bad reviews (Like the soda machines are turned off near the end of close of the cinema and you couldn't get a refill of your half gallon sized fountain cup?) Please read through the negative reviews before taking them to heart. We have come here quite often in the past few years, we were just there today, August 1,2025 for a 2:30 movie. Nothing but five stars across the board. There was a new process to getting into the theater than I'd done before and I much preferred this way. Go up to the front desk, scan your pre-purchased ticket (I buy through the app so I can pick good seats from the comfort of my own home and I can pick and choose everything about my visit from best seat selections, showtimes, screen type, seat types. After scanning in at the desk you get two paper slips with your theater number and seat designation. I found this insanely easier to having to keep looking at my phone for the seat numbers, not remembering the ticket guy's instructions about which theater I was going to. The theater is very clearly marked, aisles are very clearly marked, the seats are very clearly marked. So very easy to go find your spot. I've never had a bad experience with the seats at this particular cinema. The lounge seats, which all of them are, have always worked and reclined the way they were supposed to. I've never seen a tear, I've never seen a crack, I've never seen a split. IF you happen to somehow come across a seat that has a tear then go look at the screen at the entrance to your theater and you can find another open seat and then tell the first attendant you see about your broken seat. The staff have always been very positively responsive with us. If you are lucky you will get to choose the theater with the trays for your food. Bonus! It's not a brand new theater so not everything will be spotless, shiny, new, with soft, supple carpeting. But they keep it clean and it's nowhere near trashy in the slightest. I saw on reviewer leave a bad review because the food was so expensive. ............have you not been to the theater to see a movie for a while?... The popcorn is always generally fresh, the nacho cheese doesn't come out in clumps of saucy snot, the jalapeños with the nachos have always seemed of good quality. If you know how to do it right at Marcus Theaters then this whole process to go enjoy your movie is effortless. If you get confused don't blame the theater, you just don't know how the procedures work. Don't give a negative star review because of your ignorance of the process. We punched the tickets online from Fandango which came directly into my app. We purchased snacks (big popcorn to share between 3 people) and sodas. We found our theatre easily and the theatre itself was clean and comfy with the chairs. Screen quality was great, as was the sound. Staff was helpful. This theater is a bit past its prime, but it's still a good option if you're not too picky. The seats are aging, there's a stale smell, and even the soda/pretzel bites tasted a bit old. Good location, reasonable ticket prices, just needs a refresh, IMO. read more

The elimination of the smell of excrement in the lobby and the restrooms would be a huge improvement, as would the Baby Powder-scented deodorizer in the theatres. I have fond memories of Des Peres Cine 14 since my early childhood. Of course back then I believe there were only 4 theaters but the feeling is still the same. The place is always clean, including the bathrooms. There are various perks with the Magical Movie Rewards program. These include free refills on fountain drinks, free large popcorn on your birthday, discounted tickets on Tuesdays (and free popcorn) and many other benefits. The theater rooms have been newly renovated so the seating is now sleek and comfortable. The noise level is never an issue as everyone is always considerate of their neighbors. We hadn't been to a movie for a while! There just hadn't been anything we wanted to see. We ended up going the other day and I was pleasantly surprised. The last few theaters we had been to were not great. They all seem to have gone downhill. They've been dirty (sometimes downright filthy) and the staff are not friendly or particularly helpful. Walking into this theater was nice! It was bright and clean and the staff we interacted with were helpful and friendly! When we sat in the actual small theater our movie was playing in, it was also clean. It was like in the old days when everything was always clean and people were nice. So refreshing! My friend and I had tickets for an Amazon movie premier of upgraded. I haven't been to this theater location in years. First off, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The inside could use some upgrades. We found it odd that the bathroom sinks were more updated compared to the soda machines. The other Marcus theater had the electronic ones and they have more than just 2 stations. This one only had the one side with two stations. The other drawback was the bathrooms. Only one set! They decided right before we got out of our movie to close down for cleaning. The ladies one did have a smaller one but we tried to walk over to the other side, but no bathrooms. This could help them out majorly if they had bathrooms down each hall. We did enjoy the movie. Sucked having to sit in the front row so close. I took my family here to watch Migration, as my oldest son had been wanting to watch it for a while. The gentleman that was printing tickets was very personable and nice! I was excited for this experience! Then- we went to the food area to order...mind you, I've got two boys who are eager and ready to go see a movie and get their ICEEs! The customer service at the counter for the food area was horrible. I had a young lady who wasn't personable and seemed as though she was nervous....I had to tell her my phone number 3 times to get my rewards entered for the order, I asked her a question if there was a kids combo that came with an ICEE...she had no idea (there was one!), and I had asked to order a soft drink and she didn't put that on the order. I had to go back to her about 2 times....by the time I sat down I was so overwhelmed with frustration with my experience with her and another man at the food counter, I cried.... We accidentally bought tickets to a different Marcus Cinema. When the Customer Service rep working the ticket counter explained to us our error, she offered to ask her manager if there was anything they would do. The manager came over and made us feel so welcome and explained this type of thing happens. She didn't make us feel dumb for our mistake , she did some magic on her end and let us stay right there to watch our movie. Amazing customer service all around. We came to a daytime show to see Kung Fu Panda. I bought tickets on the app so we quickly checked in when we got there. The concession stand looked empty but I finally found someone to help us get some kids combos. The size of the theater was nice and we were able to easily find our seats. A friend introduced me to this theatre and I have not looked back since. I have passed this theatre for years and wondered if I was missing something. Apparently so, I was missing out on a whole experience. Yessss, that's right an entire experience!!! The parking is plentiful, so no worries. As soon as you walk in, the ticket counter is to the right, the concession stand is straight ahead and my favorite spot........The Bistro Bar is to your left. I love it!!!! An entire bar that is upscale. You can chill in there before the movie and have a gourmet meal with a plethora of liquor options. Yesssssss, a plethora of premium alcoholic beverages, ranging from wine, beer, cocktails and liquor. And get this, you got options, options on sizes, options on liquor, options on drinks, options on wine, etc.........WHAAAATTTTT!?!?! The variety of food offerings will blow your mind. My favorite was the chicken and waffles until they removed it from the menu. I do enjoy the chicken strips and fries as a replacement. They also serve several gourmet smash burgers, pizza and much more!! The food is made to order, so it is hot-n-fresh when served to you. You can add on or substitute items which is a plus. Also, if you prefer not to wait for your food while it is being made, they will give you a buzzer to take to your seat. The theatre is huge with plenty of theatres. It does not matter if you are in a large theatre or small, all the seating is GREAT. All the theatres provide leather chairs that recline. What I enjoyed most about Des Peres Cinema were the reclining/rocking stadium seats!!!! I was able to get nice & comfy as I laughed my socks off (wait, I wore sandals) nevermind.... the movie was hilarious. The screening had an amazing turnout; luckily I arrived a bit early and snagged 2 seats because the theater was packed. My guest enjoyed the concession nachos and noted there was also restaurant style menus available for more intricate orders. This is not my usual movie theatre, but I was lucky and got FREE tickets to sneak preview of Trainwreak; so I found myself expanding my movie theatre experience. I was elated to see that the theatre had stadium seating. Being height impaired, I always seem to get a basketball player in front on me. With stadium seating, I don't need to worry about my vision being blocked. However, the seats seemed to be worn out and in need of re-conditioning. I've seen chairs at a consignment shop and Goodwill with better spring support. The concession stand was extensive and had several combo offerings for two to share. I always go with the classic movie treat; popcorn and ice cold soda. Half way through the movie, I wished I had gotten the nachos. Why? Someone behind me was enjoying them and I could smell the jalapeños. The aroma alone won me over. The theatre lobby, auditorium and restrooms were very clean for the volume of traffic that was going through that evening. I also, found the staff to be extremely friendly. The young men at the box-office and taking tickets were both witty, adding an extra touch to their customer service. The reason for only 3 Stars is due to the technical difficulty in getting the movie to start and having to pause and re-start again. I do not know why this place has such a low Yelp rating. I guess they must have made some changes, as all recent reviews have been positive. I can only go off of my experience. This is my first experience with the Marcus Theaters and it was great. The staff was very nice and helpful. If you want to apply a discount, such as military discount, you have to get your tickets at the customer service desk. The theater and the bathroom were both very clean. And this place has free refills on your drinks and a full bar. You can't get much better than that. It is stadium seating with seats that fully recline. The sound in the theater was awesome. They also have been advertising for family movies that they show throughout the week that was pretty cool. I think tickets were like $5. I hope that this movie theater chain catches on and spreads nationally, giving the bigger theater chains a run for their money. read more

The workers were very hostile. One worker only enforced their absurd rules when the manager was around. We got yelled at by the manager over something so minuscule as our drinks. They had very big egos towards a group of teenage girls. I'm sure they had a good time making us scramble to figure out what to do. We have friends, younger than us, who got into the movie no problem. These workers pick and choose when to enforce their rules. We are currently sitting in the car, watching teenagers go in and not have to come out, and getting into the movie with no problem. When I was a manger I would have rated it a 2 on a good day. The box office is kinda in a weird spot now, but I usually get tickets online anyway. Love the heated, comfy seats. They bar is very nice. I'm a fan of Wehrenberg theaters in general. I've only been to this particular theater twice and only at their 5-star lounge on both occasions. Why? Because I like killing 2 birds with 1 stone (not literally-- no birds were harmed on either occasions) and that is what dine-in theaters or in their case, the 5-star lounge can do for you. You will sometimes find the place in a bit of disarray such as last night but as long as the actual theater I am watching the movie in is clean and orderly, I have no problem. Honestly, I only noticed a few boxes laying around possibly from some shipment of theater goods that arrived yesterday and are yet to be tended to. No big deal. The food is pretty good. Not 5-star dining but more like Applebee's choices though I would say slightly better. By that, I mean they will not burn your burger and in my humble opinion, is just better tasting. They have a selection of wine, beer, and adult milkshakes as well. There are also appetizer baskets, desserts, pizzas, salads, and a variety of nachos. The lounge seats are comfy, they recline and can be heated if you prefer. They also have mini round tables in front of the reclining chairs if you need to put some dirty dishes somewhere away from you. The theater attendants are attentive, friendly and helpful. No issues getting checks before the movie ends. I definitely appreciate the other patrons not constantly ordering random food stuff during the movie so the attendants aren't walking around while something big is happening or about to happen on-screen. With that said, I will definitely be choosing this movie theater again in the future. It definitely helps on being efficient, meets cleanliness standards, and offers service with a smile. read more

I love this movie theater. Recently it changed names to Marcus Des Peres Cinema. We are spoiled here. We always purchase our tickets ahead of time and get the assigned seats in the Bistro theater. The screen quality is amazing as well as the sound. Last night we saw the Avengers and visited the bar in the lobby for a drink. It is almost better than a sports bar in there and the drinks are made well and very reasonably priced. In Tuesdays they have $4 16 ounce beers and $6 24 ounce drinks for all of you beer drinkers. In addition, they have a pretty nice wine list for a movie theater! The mega screen in the bar for all of you sports fans is worth leaving your home TV and your comfy couch to get out and watch a game in the bar without even seeing a movie! The service in the bar is really good. In addition, in the bistro theaters, you have assigned seating and loungers which raise your legs and are sooo comfortable that if you eat dinner prior to a movie and sit in one of these seats, you may have just paid for an expensive nap. Please work on your website. My wife and I really dislike the new, hip "dine-in" movie theater experience, so we actively avoid it like the plague. Yesterday I bought tickets on the website for Captain Marvel and when we arrived at the theater we found out they were for the "dine-in" theater. No where on the website, or at least not in an obvious place" did it state that the tickets were for the dine-in theater. Disappointment for sure. The clerk at the front desk was able to switch our tickets to a normal, old school screening room, but there was a $5 upcharge! That seems like a bit of a rip off if you ask me. #bummed read more

This was my first time coming since the Marcus remodel, three and a half stars. Ronnie's is much better. The bar was understaffed, and there was a line five long when I got there. The bartender was moving as fast as she could, but there was some stupid rule that I could not buy more than one drink per person w ID, which completely negates the divide and conquer of one person getting drinks and the other getting snacks. Ronnie's didn't have that rule. The seats were small, and no heat button that I saw. The projector broke, but management did give us free tickets, and fixed it in fifteen minutes. read more

TL:DR - Had a reputation for being dirty 15 years ago when I last came, still the same. Re-model looks nice, but theater cleaning is still clearly lacking. I usually don't write reviews on non-food places, and least of all movie theaters, but this trip was so bad I feel others need to know about it. I've lived in STL my entire life and have not been to the Des Peres Cinema in about 15 years as it was always dirty compared to other theaters and adopted the reserved seating later than others. But with Marcus Theaters' $5 Tuesdays, and them having the only showtime that worked with my schedule (whereas my preferred Marcus theater, Chesterfield Galaxy, did not) I gave it another shot. Pleasantly surprised, their remodel of the theater was welcomed and nice, so much so, that I gave them another shot. This second Tuesday, ever, cemented that this will be my last resort theater. Some of my biggest gripes include that there's only one set of bathrooms in the theater section. So if you're in theater 11, the furthest theater on the right side of the complex, you have to walk all the way back to the middle. Most theaters tend to have a set of bathrooms on each wing. Additionally, the chairs in the theater were filthy. On the arm rest of my seat, there looked like crusted nacho cheese from a previous movie watcher and wet napkins in the cup holder. In my partner's cup holder was two pieces of already chewed gum. Now, I'm not expecting a movie theater to be the cleanest space anywhere, like floors will be sticky, I get it. But stuff like this to me is unacceptable and something I've rarely if ever seen at the other theaters I frequent (the moolah, chesterfield galaxy, amc creve coeur, west olive, chase park, galleria, and esquire). Given the dearth of quality alternatives, Des Peres is a no go for me. read more

This is still my movie theater of choice. It's easy to get in and out of and is away from the teens that have taken over Ronnie's (good point Carl H). I still cringe at the price tag of $20 for a couple for a show. It makes me always second guess not checking the video on demand list at home first. However that is a problem of the industry and not this one location. Tip... the super-fantastic Schuncks on the other side of 270 is a must stop before a show.
