The last time I went to the Marcus Arnold Cinema ( to see Beetlejuice 2) it was a much better experience than the time before that when we went to see the big screening of the classic "The Blob", which was absolutely terrible. Having gone on May 27th to see Mando and Grogu, it was the best experience in quite some time. This is a prime example of why I like to give every business I review more the ONE chance to do a good job. Everyone has a bad day, managers frequently hire incompetent employees and sometimes there is a bum in the men's room selling combs and cheap cologne. No this time. The only negative comment I can give, is that my stratolounger got stuck and died and I had to climb out of the chair after the film. Not a big deal, stuff happens. My advice: go see a movie! read more

I don't know what's worse: the rude staff or the rude moviegoers. The staff is clueless and super slow. The guests bring their entire week's worth of food in with them and chow down while taking loudly like it's a family reunion during the feature presentation. And I can't even blame it on the kids! These adults have zero class and act like they have never been to a public theater before. This ain't your living room! Hard pass next time. read more

I ordered tickets on-line and added my rewards membership number, (that is suppose to save you a service charge) but was charged $10.00 for a service fee. I called the movie house immediately and was referred to corporate office. Corporate office was closed and a recording referred me back to Arnold box office. After 4 phone calls I have only gotten the run around. This has happened to 4 other people I know. BEWARE!! Watch out when you check out on line. This is one of the smaller Wehrenberg theaters but I know that I can always find a seat at any given time for a show as not many usually come out to this location. We came this time to see American Sniper. There was a special showing rate, as well as a special on popcorn and a soda so we were set to relax to this Oscar nominated film. I'm not one of those people who need all the frills of a 5-star lounge and I know that at this location I can come and enjoy myself and be comfortable. read more

I have been to this theater with my children 3 times in the last 2 weeks. Each time we paid for and reserved our tickets online. All 3 times we arrived and went in to sit down and other people were in our seats. We sat in different seats that were open, but then people gave us a heads up that we were sitting in their seats. So we moved around until no body said anything else. Marcus Theater needs to either have an usher in the theater to make sure people are sitting in the correct seats or they need to stop with the assigned seating. I would have told the people sitting in the seats to move, but having my 3 young children with me I didn't want to start drama with anyone over something like seating assignment. read more

Just stay home. For a Marcus theater this is the grossest one I have ever been to. If you're in the area just go to Ronnie's on Lindbergh. Went once here and will NEVER be back. Any of the older reviews should be ignored. This theatre recently got a much-needed renovation. The floors and carpet were changed. The outside was renovated. All of the auditoriums now have recliners. They really turned this place from almost a dump to something great. If you've been to Ronnie's before, you can expect a similar experience. This is my third visit to this theater, and I am definitely a fan. each time I have seen a movie here I have had a very pleasant experience. from the ticket window to the snack bar, everyone was friendly and helpful, in addition to being quick and efficient. I found the theater to be well maintained, and clean, and the bathrooms were nice and clean as well, you could tell that they were checked on a regular basis. The prices were as high as in other Wehrenberg theaters, but that unfortunately is the company's choice. The theaters themselves are well maintained, and floors were obviously taken care of. seeing the movie was just as pleasant, I'm so used to the bad behavior I see in other theaters so it's nice to have people pay attention to the movie on the screen and not their phones or have personal conversations. The modern movie going experience has become and expensive excursion, you really want to get your money's worth when spending it on things like entertainment. I feel 100% that I'm getting my money's worth at this theater even though I've only had a few movie going experiences at this location. read more

They didn't turn off the lights during The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It. Kinda ruined all the scares to not have it dark.

I've been to this theatre many times in my life, since I've always lived in the area. We came here to see Captain Phillips this past Friday. First off, I'm very happy that we have a theatre in Arnold. I like the fact that it's close to home, and there's a Culver's right across the street. :) I'm not one of those people who need all of the extra frills at a movie theatre. I don't need to pay $20 to have a seat that reclines, a waitress bringing me food and drinks, etc. Just give me a comfortable seat and a clean theatre and I'm good to go. After all, I'm just there to see a movie. My wife and I almost always eat somewhere else before going to a movie. I'm not interested in paying $13 for popcorn and a soda. You can get a much better meal elsewhere. I know some people like to do that for the "movie experience", but that's just not my cup of tea. We did luck out on the fact that October is movie month, and you can get a ticket to an evening show for $7 this month. That's a much better deal than the usual $10 or so. Overall, I enjoy the theatre in Arnold. Is it the fanciest and best one around? No. Is it convenient and satisfactory to me? Absolutely. I'll be back for sure. read more

Back in the 90's, Wehrenberg started this whole rash of theater building. They rebuilt and built new theaters all over St. Louis. This was one of those theaters, and over the years, it has become neglected...probably due to the fact that Wehrenberg has put so much focus on their other, newer, fancier theaters. However, this place, though a little ragged and outdated, has some benefits that other, newer theaters don't have. First of all, this place is never busy. You can show up one minute before a movie starts, get your tickets, your popcorn and soda so large a small baby could drown in it, and still get a decent seat next to your friends. It's nice. The place has all the updates that were available in the 90's, so it's not a rathole. They have the good speakers and large screens and stadium seating. Also, there really aren't any little kids here...it's great. Now, like I said it's run down. The parking lot has been ignored and there are a ton of pot holes all around the thing. That's a big downer. The place is a little hoosier, but I can live with that. The seats are worn and there's a lot of gum under them. However, I still like going here. Also, they still give me the student discount...even though I'm 27. Just show them your student ID....they aren't nazi's like Ronnies. SCORE! read more

Being at this theater makes me feel like i'm still in 2002. Completely outdated. Seats are gross and give off a weird odor. Decor is way dated. The whole teal and purple scheme has gotta go. I have not been to this movie theatre in over 5 years and I will never come back again. This is the most unkept, nastiest movie theaters I have ever been to. The seats are nearly black because they are so dirty. I would have left if I hadn't been looking forward to seeing this movie. So no, it's not been updated in a while, the seats aren't really comfortable and the decor may be a bit outdated, but there are no lines, their prices aren't as exorbitant as these fancy theaters and I just came to see a movie and not have to sell an organ to do it. The seats I had did not look like the pictures so I'm hoping they have done some improvements, they just have no give when you lean back. I don't know how this location stays in business. It never seems crowded anytime I come. That being said, I tend to go here more than other theatres on the south side of town because I can arrive a few minutes before showtime and just walk in and get a great seat.
