I have previously requested not to be called prior to 9am (after being woken up before by their calls) due to my sleep schedule (that this practice supposedly focuses on "mind and sleep), and called to complain about this happening again. The office manager, Happy, was extremely unprofessional in her attitude with me when I told her in a professional manner that this had occurred and interrupted me three times while I was speaking, telling me that they start calling patients as early as 7:30am and that they will note my file not to call that early. I never had a chance to explain that I had requested this previously because she interrupted me. When I asked her if I could explain the reason for my frustration she told me "No", that she didn't want to hear it and that I could either re-schedule or move to a different practice. I told her that I wanted to explain why I was upset and she again said my only options were to reschedule or to find somewhere else to go, and when I asked to speak to Dr Schroeder (owner of the practice) she told me he doesn't speak to patients about customer service issues and I had to deal with her as the office manager. When I informed her again that I wanted to explain why I feared that this would recur based on it having previously occurred, and if she would not listen then I wanted to cancel my appointment she then proceeded to hang up on me. I called her back immediately and a minute later was told she was in a meeting and unavailable. I am shocked at the unprofessional way I was treated by Happy as the office manager after being a customer for well over 10 years. This is not the way to take care of your patients!

Dr. Nassar seems to be another example of a, "pay me first and then I'll tell you if I can potentially help you" psychologist. With that mind set, those if us on the edge and needing help will just have to go through several first visits with several psychologist and tell our story and explain our symptoms several times and pay several hundreds of dollars in the meantime. And if you're like me, there are times you have laid in bed in the deepest of anxiety hells, contemplating pulling the trigger just to escape the intense fear in your head. The clock may be running out on people like you and me. We don't have time for psychologist that won't simply say, "yes, I've seen this before and I believe I can help. I'll have my office manager contact you." Hang in there. There are good psychologist out there. And we'll find them. I hope.

I am young and used to not being listened to, but this visit took it to the worst possible level. Dr. Mabile has ignored my pain on multiple visits before this since 2022 and never provided any medication or numbing, but what I experienced with Dr. Illston can only be described as casual cruelty. She first left me in the room for over 45 minutes, then came in and out repeatedly, leaving for long periods. She also refused to re-prescribe me my birth control, which cost about $2.00 with insurance, even after I asked. She instead prescribed me Slynd (which they seem to be pushing lately), which costs over $200 even with insurance. During the pap smear "attempt," I was given no pain relief, and she ignored my discomfort and pain and tried to tell me that a tampon and speculum were the same size; therefore, this should be no problem. She also inquired about my sexual activity and virginity status, then recommended penetrative sex as a way to get used to the pain. Needless to say, her comments were extremely inappropriate and rude, bordering on discriminatory language. I would not recommend this practice to any woman of color or queer person, as they are not affirming or understanding in the slightest. Dr. Illston, in particular, should be fired. For such a medically invasive field, one would hope they'd be better, but practice does not care about you or your feelings.

Once I was called to the back, the young lady who took my vitals was personable and made me feel comfortable about my visit. Dr. Charity Johns, MD, listened attentively, was kind patient, and explained in detail what needed to be done. She gave me her professional opinion, which was exactly what I needed to hear. Thankfully, since I had traveled for almost 3 hours, she was able to fit me in for two different procedures when you usually have to make an appointment for each. It is a long drive from where I currently live, but it is important to have a good OB-GYN, especially for us, girls who are aging. Per an email request, I received a phone call saying I could complete a form for my new physician (I've already done this) and if I wanted my records I could PAY A FEE for them to be provided via CD. I have two overwhelming concerns: 1) I and/or my insurance company have paid through the nose for medical care for the past 8 years; and 2) who uses CDs anymore-- new computers don't come with a CD drive! What century are you in? Everything is cloud-based now and precisely why I should be able to access my records via the portal. As an example, I can access my Emory and Mayo Clinic records today (some are over 2 decades old and others over a decade old). This is a terrible business practice and nothing but a MONEY MAKER for this practice. I'm hugely disappointed in this nonsensical practice. And, I would also be concerned about a medical office SNAIL MAILING private, medical records. Isn't this a HIPAA privacy concern?

In January 2025 I made an appointment for the earliest new patient appointment, which was in June 2025. I decided to wait for the appointment because I really appreciated the philosophy found on the website and definitely liked the glowing reviews. I had positive interactions with all staff I encountered and the clinic was clean and bright. The provider I met with suspected a new problem/diagnosis and so started a work up with labs and imaging. Clinic staff did follow up with me once labs resulted out and referred me to a specialist. The ordered imaging was performed ~2 weeks after my new patient appt but I never received follow up, from the NP or anyone else at Ponce Primary Care re: the imaging results. It has now been ~3 months since my last communication, specific to my care, with anyone in this office. I decided to reach out to discuss the standard of care, which I felt to be lacking. Dr. Chad Costley did return my call within an hour or so and he did verbalize disappointment with my situation. He assured me that my experience is unfortunately the exception to their typical patient experience. I was informed that the NP I had been assigned to was "only part-time and here less than a month". I did not ever receive any communication from Ponce Primary Care to notify me that my assigned provider was departing or to invite me to call to schedule with another provider for seamless continuity of care. I was told that my imaging results were never sent by the imaging facility I went to and that "this is where the wheels came off". That is absolutely possible but it was also not confirmed to be true at the time of the statement. The report not being in the patient chart does not mean it was never received by the ordering office or sent to the ordering provider. Sometimes things get scanned and assigned incorrectly, or not scanned at all. Lots of possibilities there. To me, that shows a lack of accountability for not holding a supervisory review of a departing provider's caseload/EMR task list and it also fails to consider that an out-of-state fax number associated with the ordering provider could be the problem. I waited 6 months for a new patient appointment and, whatever the circumstances, was lost in the shuffle. I will not be continuing with this practice, although I'm sure they have many satisfied patients as evidenced by their overall rating. My advice if you wish to establish/continue care here: Be able to advocate for yourself and for your own healthcare. Be knowledgeable about when to follow up on your care in case the practice doesn't. If the wait is still 6 months out for a new patient appointment when you try to schedule, do not think an extra special or VIP experience awaits you - realize that they just might be too busy to accept new patients.

If you schedule an appointment you need to tell the patient and not note cancelled in their patient portal when they weren't aware of some of the appointments due to a miscommunication error. It didn't warrant the action taken. I've received a great deal of care denial with this healthcare system, so I shouldn't be surprised.

This review is of the Woodruff Family Housing at The Shepard Center in Atlanta, GA, for their…read moreoutpatient patient and patient families. This is mainly for informational purposes. We are staying here while my husband rehabilitates at Pathways. Before coming here, I searched everywhere for pictures of the housing so I would know how to prepare. The building is older but serves its purpose well. You'll need to bring cleaning products including a vacuum, mop, bucket, etc. This particular unit had a few of these items but we had to move rooms and the next one did not; be prepared for them to not be available. The kitchen is stocked pretty well although, ours needed measuring cups, spoons, mixing bowls, mixer, and kitchen towels. The refrigerator is full sized but, on the smaller side. There is an ice-maker. There is a standard coffee maker, no k-cups, only ground. There is a microwave and our kitchen happened to have a crockpot, although the first room did not. The hot water takes forever to heat up so run the water for about 15 minutes before stepping inside to shower. They will gladly provide you with any medical needs you may have such as a shower chair, lifted toilet, etc. The towels and washcloths are a step below a hotel and SMALL. My husband found them too rough for his sensitivities. Myself, I thought they did a great job exfoliating, so just your preference. We ending up buying some and made our stay more comfortable. Bedrooms have two twin beds OR one twin bed and one hospital bed. Please confirm with your case worker what your needs are!! Bring blankets and mattress toppers for your comfort. The beds aren't the most comfortable but will suffice; they remind me of dorm room beds. We brought a king sized tri-fold topper, pushed the two twin beds together and made a king sized bed. Obviously this required us to bring our own bedding but completely worth it to us. Hey, if we are going to be here a while, let's make it comfortable!! Keep in mind they can't take donated mattresses when you're done so either meet a neighbor who would appreciate it or be prepared to leave with it once it has expanded. Trash bins are on the ground floor through the parking lot. At night it's dark. The first time I chose to bring mine back in since it was a good walk in the dark and there was a running, white van parked nearby. Hey, I've seen what happens in the movies!! Lots of renovating/construction going on but they are doing an adequate job of rerouting you with very little inconvenience. Security is very friendly and helpful. There is a secured parking garage. You have to have a key card to access the garage, your floor, and your room. There's plenty of handicap parking right by the door of each floor. There is a mailroom. If you're ordering Amazon, I recommend the Amazon Lockers located about a mile or less down the street. There is a delay from the mailroom (I am on day 4 of packages I know have been delivered) and they are not there but a VERY limited time on weekends. They do bring your mail to your room and if you are out, they open the door and place it and any packages just inside on the kitchen table. Very convenient and takes any worry away of your packages sitting out. Be patient .. I was told many are volunteers. Internet is okay at best. The TVs are smart TVs so your apps are available. There is a TV in the living room and bedroom. There is a laundry room on each floor. Keep in mind you can only access your floor. There are 2 washers and 2 dryers. They actually provide the detergent. It's an off brand powder and obviously you can bring your own, as we did. I have not seen any fabric softener so you'll need to bring your own either way. There is a floor downstairs that has couches, games, movies, etc.. Should you need the Shepherd Center or want to utilize their cafeteria, there is a walkway located in the garage area. You are only outside of the building/inside the garage for a very brief walk. The Shepherd Center also sponsors a Family Dinner every Tuesday night at 5:00. The food is furnished by local restaurants and local people that generously donate. It's FREE! Afterwards, they play several rounds of bingo with generous prizes. Mrs. Shepherd, herself, attends almost every meal. She is the very elegant lady on her motorized cart assuring everyone's needs are tended to. Should you need Piedmont Hospital during your stay, if capable, I recommend walking there. It's less than an 8 minute walk. Piedmont makes you pay for parking every single time you leave the hospital. I think the first 30 minutes are free but, then it's $7-$10 according to your stay. I walked every time of day, from very early morning, midday, and late a night and felt very safe every time. I hope that you find this information helpful for your stay!
