Denny's

UPDATED REVIEW: We…read morestopped coming to Denny's for breakfast due to life changes (nothing to do with them). A few nights ago on a Saturday night we wanted a late dinner so we ventured out to this Denny's. None of the staff we once knew are there now but no matter, the service was still excellent. They have remodeled since we last ate there and the restaurant is nice and clean. The ambiance was quiet and low-key - mostly just passing truck drivers on that rainy Saturday night. I got a breakfast omelet for dinner - mushrooms, ham, onions and peppers, and Cheddar cheese - and it was excellent. My husband had country fried steak and he enjoyed it. Overall a very nice meal, with an average price. I hope to eat here again soon.

On this morning, I received the worst customer service I've experienced from a server named Carol…read more While attempting to place a carryout order, Carol quickly became irritated, rude, and unpleasant to speak with, all within just a few minutes. I remained respectful and courteous throughout the entire interaction, yet I was met with an unnecessary and extremely disrespectful attitude. There was absolutely no reason for the interaction to become as unpleasant as it did. As a result, I canceled my order. Unfortunately, after this experience, I have no desire to return to this establishment or spend my money here again. Especially if Carol is going to be part of my dining experience. Customers deserve to be treated far better than how I was treated by Carol. If I could give the review negative five stars I would. Management should be aware of how customers are being treated, because one negative interaction can easily cause a customer to take their business elsewhere.

They have a few parking spots in the front, all of which are handicap spots. They have a decent amount of parking spots in the back. There is a decent sized dining area that is decorated like it is the 1960 with old school memorabilia and Coca-Cola stuff. If you are dining in you must place your order at the counter first. I decided to dine in. There are two counters, one on each side of the restaurant, only one was open during my visit. I guess that is where they get the "twin" in its name. The restaurant serves salads, pizza, burgers, spaghetti and other Italian entrees. I got the lasagna, which came with bread and a salad or you could substitute the salad for extra bread. They did not have fries. But they did have potato wedges, which is what I got to complete my meal. It took about 10 minutes for me to get my food and they brought it to my table. It was fresh and hot. The lasagna was small and tasted ok. I have had better, and I have had worse. The potato wedges were pretty good. They do not come with catsup though. You have to request it. All in all, this is a neat little mom and pop diner. It really takes you back. I think that it does miss the mark on table service though. I am glad to see that they got with the times and do now accept credit cards, as a few years ago they did not. I always love supporting local.

We arrived a few minutes before they opened but they were quick to welcome us and get us started on the options. Once you enter there is a counter where you order with a menu on the wall as well as a board with lunch specials. I got the spaghetti with marinara which also came with a substantial salad and garlic bread sticks. There are several rooms for seating with both booths as well as tables. The decor is very fun and festive and definitely Coke oriented! We weren't seated too long before our meals were brought to the table, and things were hot and fresh and smelled wonderful. My spaghetti was an ample portion with a lot of sauce which I mopped up with the tasty bread. The rest of the party are their food with gusto so I'm assuming they liked it. It is a fun spot for a quick lunch or dinner and they had lots of options for hot sandwiches or cooked food.

The baked lasagna is very good!

After reading many positive reviews on fb and Google I decided to step in and give it a try. I know my NY pizzas and have yet to find an authentic one is Indy. Yes .... I've tried most places and trust me that here is where you'll find it! I wasn't disappointed in the least but. I mean not .... one .... bit! We were greeted immediately by the peppy owner. He was very nice and helpful. In true NY style he talked to us like we were family the whole time we waited for our fresh out of the ovens amazing 'pie' slices. We were able to watch him do his thing from the counter. You are able to customize a slice as well as your own pizza. There's no premade slices that are just sitting in a window waiting to be chosen and then thrown in to be reheated here! What you want is exactly what you'll get! The pepperoni bread sucks and garlic knots were amazing He even has a stone so if you want a crispier crust just ask for 'char'. I highly recommend it. This might give a perception your slice is burnt but it's far from it. Really makes it crispy and you'll love it! This is finally an authentic NY pizza not just a thin crust with NY slapped on it! My only complaint is I didn't try it sooner but I highly suggest you don't let the outside fool you .... Give him a whirl

The staff is very friendly too, and of course the pizza is consistently delicious. (HALF THAI CHICKEN, HALF HAWAIIAN ADD BLACK OLIVES + ONION I'M TALKING TO YOU.) The $10 large pizza deal on Tuesdays is where it's at y'all. Sadly, I found out yesterday that Andrew the manager will be moving away, and I'm so sad!! He will be missed! Over the many months me and my dad have been stopping by to pick up a pizza, he has made such a great impression. He's always so nice, remembers my order and even knows it's me when I call lol. That isn't something that I expect from anyone who works in the food industry, but I think it's just cool that he remembers customers and really makes the pizza pick up an experience. Makes the customer feel appreciated, you know?. FOR example, Even when the odds were against him yesterday (the water stopped working and put him 2 hours behind on making dough), he knocked it outta the ball park by the time I was there by 6pm (which tuesdays are ALREADY very busy due to the $10 deal), all while remaining friendly and helpful to each customer that came in. Anyway, papa murphys is fantastic, and Andrew will be hard to replace :/ I have faith though!~
