´Tis a grand day…read more Chicago is on our mind today, and Godfather's Pizza reminds us of our many Chicago experiences. We like to holiday for a week at a time in Chicago; in addition to several favorite Chicago Steak houses and ethnic restaurants, we always make time for a Chicago Pizza. These Chicago pizza houses may require 45 minutes to deliver the pizza to the table. Godfather's Pizza requires a phone call, and the pizza is ready in 15 minutes for take-away. This weekend, several other Greater Dayton Metropolitan Pizza houses are promoting their coupons; Godfather's Pizza in Centerville has never offered coupons. Nevertheless, Godfather's Pizza is very busy with dine-in and take-away. Godfather's Pizza is in desperate need of web page development as well as correct search links. Often, it takes a few too many mouse clicks to locate the menu. We like the Super Combo, regular crust. Somehow, the employees at Godfather's Pizza have not yet mastered the built it yourself concept. Godfather's Pizza creates our kind of pizza. We look forward to return visits. The tariff is appropriate for the fare.

The pizza is fresh and handmade, the only downside is that the pizza tends to be very greasy, and sometimes inconsistent. The service here is amazing. The first time I went to this establishment, there was a bit of a wait for the food. While this didn't pose a problem for me and I didn't feel inclined to complain, they gave me a gift card as an apology. This demonstrates that this business deeply cares about their service and quality. Especially because nobody had even made a comment about the wait time. We were quickly greeted and our server was attentive the entirety of the time. I got the Riverside roundup and it was just what I wanted. The prices here are really good for the amount of food that you get. The smaller salad is $4.95, and is big enough for an entree! I most recently had a combo of a chipotle chicken flatbread sandwich, a side salad, and a soda for $7.99. I had to take the salad home! The pizza here is also pretty good - I mean, it's no Cassano's, but it's a nice hand-tossed pizza. The inside is really big, and we've never had a hard time finding seating for our whole group. There is also a large patio and bar area if you're coming in for a drink. Sometimes it can be a bit loud inside, especially with the country music turned way up... but this is par for the course in New Carlisle so you really can't be too surprised. There are also plenty of tvs if you wanted to watch a sporting event, but not so many that it's annoying. Tasty and affordable, just the way I like it!

They were SERIOUSLY short-handed and the poor guy who was taking orders was running himself ragged, even though there weren't that many people there (maybe slammed w/take out orders??) Sad I didn't get my favorite Carmela's Mediterranean salad, but sadder for the overworked, overachieving bartender/waiter/who knows what else guy who ran a one man show that night. Having never been there we just relied on the small amount of yelp reviews and our phone call to the business - which the business owner leaving us feeling very confident in our order and in our decision to go with this place without having tried their food. We were not disappointed. I am unsure why there aren't more yelp reviews here, this place is great. I want everyone to try them. Service is simply impeccable and the family owned business and passion is demonstrated in everything from the ordering process to the actual quality of the food. Now, getting to the food, the portions are quite hearty, food is priced incredibly well. We ordered two types of pasta - the baked ziti and the chicken Alfredo. Both were incredibly fresh and delicious. We ate our leftovers for days and the quality was still great, food still tasted fresh. We got salad and that was just filled with fresh ingredients, it's very rare for a salad to pull you in, but this one just looked so good you had to have some. They gave plenty of dressing too. My last comment is just for the garlic knots. Left us completely speechless.....they were the star of the show. Just absolutely so good, you know they can't be that good if you're trying to keep a diet, but you can't help but want more. This place is not far out of Dayton, I want everyone to know about it! We had a great experience and I wish we lived closer so we could have some more garlic knots more often!!

When they closed, I was thrilled to hear they reopened in Fairborn, especially since it's right where I live. The first time I tried the Fairborn location, it was everything I remembered and loved. Unfortunately, the quality and flavor have slowly gone downhill since then. It just doesn't have that same authentic taste that made me fall in love with Verona's in the first place, which is disappointing because there aren't many great New York-style pizza options in the Dayton area. I really hope they bring back that original consistency and attention to detail, because when Verona's is at its best, it's unbeatable.
