Marcos Garden Services arrived on time, but that was the only positive of my experience. I needed to move plants from around my condo since my condo will be painted soon. I asked these two gentlemen to move one camellia bush and one large hydrangea plant a few yards over to the fence. They charged $100 cash for each plant!! They dug a hole for the camellia bush and trimmed it. They did not trim the jade plant that was close to it. When they dug up the hydrangea plant- they broke it into two parts. They DID NOT remove all of the plants near the second hole for the hydrangea plant. They DID NOT bring any planting soil. My hydrangea is dying. Their service was horrible! My neighbor to right and neighbor to left of me uses them on a weekly basis. The only complain is the loud noisy gasoline leaf blowers they use. They blow the back yard, front yard driveway and street. So It is about a hour for each side so two hours of listening to leaf blowers. Gasoline leaf blowers are illegal in the city of Encinitas and there is no way to enforce them. I understand that electric isn't feasible for a landscape company (I have no desire to call the city on them either) but I wish they could somehow reduce the the time. Do they have to blow the streets? Or use a rake if possible? read more

Words cannot express my satisfaction with Marcus. Responded same day, provided estimate and today did an amazing job in my garden. He really knows about gardening and plants and one can tell he loves his trade. Cleanup of the flower beds and cleanup once the job was done was just a-mazing. I had a puddle of water in my backyard not sure if it was a drain issue or irrigation pipe issue. Marco sent his team out and after a deep dig found the pipe leak. They replaced the pipe and cleared out the grass area where my drain was covered. Great job at a reasonable price. We had a landscape contractor this fall who ignored our requests to clean out and amend the soil in three new front planter areas. My husband has spent days and days and days cleaning out the concrete, brick debris, and rocks. Still having to amend the soil, and clean weeds out of a couple of planters in the back, we were looking at more weeks ahead. So we decided to hire a garden service man. We sent out our request on Yelp, and received a prompt response from Marco. He came out the next day and his estimate was very fair. He and his workers showed up this morning and had the job completed in about 2 hours. They even trimmed the palm trees for us. They saved us a lot of backaches! Everything looks beautiful! Marco made my messy rose garden look great by fixing the grading and lining it with premium tarp, planting a few more rose bushes, then covering it with stones. The stones were my idea. He was able to take my vision and transformed it into a garden that my neighbors have given me many complements on. read more

This is the worst garden service ever. Stay away! I asked them to remove weeds and do a clean up in the backyard, they cut the weeds a (did not remove them, just trimmed them) cut the ivy (not a weed) and also managed to remove a blooming pink jasmine vine and an artichoke bush that was waste high tall, did they think that was a weed, with mulch around it in front of a rose bush? I think what is most upsetting is Marco's total refusal to take any responsibility- it's one thing to be inept, but when I confronted him on what he did, he told me he didn't- I had the plants, now I don't, did I imagine the plants that I had planted?! Finally, I think that Marco's pricing was questionable at best, based on how long he said it would take to complete the job and how long they worked. They did a complete hack job. Would give them -5 stars if possible. read more
