    Ginger Tobacco Sling

Marcel's was our first stop in Dublin, and was definitely amazing. When you walk in the place is amazing from the first impression. Our bartender Allan was a great guy too. We got a Ginger Tobacco Sling (me) and an Orange & Rhubarb Mojito (my girl). The drinks were amazing and definitely not what I was expecting. Thought it was going to be a hole in the wall joint, but it's more of a good fellas kind of place. Another positive was that it wasn't over crowded. Ordered the soup of the day with was Leek and Watercress soup, and a grilled cheese sandwich as well. The side salad on the grilled cheese needed a little additional salt, as did the soup, but I need salt in my food, which is why they still got 5 stars. It was delicious. We devoured it, and only moved onto the next spot because we're only visiting and have to hit as many places as possible. Would definitely recommend Marcel's to anyone who is visiting Dublin.

I went for lunch with my friends and it was one of my friends birthday. The staff we very welcoming and they helped us hide the gifts. The outdoor seating area is really nice, indoor interior not bad, menu looked good and we all ordered different dishes that tasted good but nothing was special about it. Then came the dessert and they came to surprise my friend and sing for her. We tried their passion fruit cheese cake , creme brulee and chocolate cake and i enjoyed the chocolate one the most. Overall, nice but i wouldnt go again.

We looked at Yelp to see what restaurants were around our location in Dublin and found this amazing place. The bartender and waitstaff was super friendly and kept making sure everything was ok and that we had enough water. Everything we ordered did not disappoint. My husband and I love pea soup with mint but never had one this tasty and the short ribs and his rib eye steak was Devine. I would highly recommend this place!!!

We visited the pub side of this establishment with 11 people. Service was good and the beer was cold! The Hake was really good.

I had the Fillet Of Irish Beef. I hardly ever order filet mignon but I'm glad I did. It may well be the best I've ever had. With Café de Paris butter, shallot pureé, pepper sauce, rocket (arugula), and a side of french fries. The flavor of the meat itself was incredible and the three sauces complemented it perfectly. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare as ordered. French fries aren't normally something to get excited about but these were a gastronomic masterpiece; the insides soft and sweet, not starchy, the outsides browned and subtly crisp, and I don't know what they were fried in but these had so much flavor it must have been beef tallow or duck fat. I'd come here again just to have a platter of these amazing fries! The wife's Coq Au Vin Façon La Maison (chicken breast braised in red wine, smoked bacon, mushrooms, baby onions, roast carrot, pomme purée) was equally memorable. I've never considering ordering this, thinking it too simple or plain. Not this. The red wine sauce really elevated a simple braised chicken. And how do they make even a simple carrot taste so good? We each had a wine from the ample selection of by the glass offerings and shared a gingery dessert which we both enjoyed. The service was good and not rushed. Just don't be intimidated by the waiter, who announced when he brought the bill that tip was not included; it seems this could have been handled more subtly.

La Maison was a delight! It was rainy but we wanted to sit outside, and there's a covered outdoor area with lots of smaller 2- and 4-top tables, so we were seated there. It is on a side street in downtown Dublin, so not as busy as main streets but still lots of food traffic, which added to the lively ambience. It was cold outside, but we stayed warm under here. We had a lovely meal. We started with a bread basket and shared shrimp appetizer, which were both great. For the main course, I ordered the duck breast, which was prepared perfectly. My husband had the steak which was also cooked nicely. To drink, we had a couple of glasses of wine each; La Maison has a solid wine menu with lots of delicious French wines and a few Italian wines as well. The service was pleasant and friendly, and the prices were just about right for the food and wine quality. Overall we had a lovely experience and would dine here again.

The absolute best meal we had during our stay in Dublin in July/Aug 2025…read more After stopping in another restaurant nearby that a local recommended and receiving the worst seats and attitude, we decided to leave without placing an order and find something else because no way.. life is too short. We walked around the corner, I saw Pichet and immediately remembered it from my trip research. I was visiting Ireland with my mother who is not an adventurous eater, so I looked at the menu online - found a lovely pasta dish that she would enjoy and she agreed to go. Turned out to be a great decision and a very memorable meal in every way. Service was wonderful... attentive, charming, and funny. Wine was perfection. And the meal was outstanding. My mom had the Knockanore cheese agnolotti with girolles, baby courgette, lovage and hazelnut pesto, and I had harissa spiced local lamb shoulder with tomato cumin puree, smoked yoghurt, roasted gnocchi, courgette and basil. We also shared two desserts, an Île Flottante with creme anglaise, Irish strawberry, strawberry prosecco sorbet, and an almond and black sesame tuile as well as the tropical themed and highly recommended coconut parfait with rum roasted pineapple, passion fruit gel, and coconut sorbet. Perfection. We chatted with a lovely local lady next to us for a bit and then two delightful & vivacious young women who arrived shortly after. One from Italy and one from Mexico. This is part of why I love travel. I recommend making reservations or arrive on the early side if you want to try your luck without one. We were able to get a seat in the bar/lounge area early as a walk in. All in all, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. 10000/10000 would go again.

My bf got the smoked salmon with dill sauce which I remember because it was different. The veal was amazing. Cooked perfection. Carrot cake was more bread like than i expected. Definitely not like the American cream cheese frosting carrot cake however still delicious. The meal was amazing and something I look forward to again!

Outside was as mess, there were no chairs at some tables and other had to many with dirty dishes on them. So we decided to go in. There was no hostess nor any wait staff so we stood there like stooges. Finally ,two of the wait staff walked right by and just ignored us so we decided to take a seat. Now they want to come talk to us! I asked if this seat was ok and got the reply "I guess it will have to be as you already sat down". Should have got up then but the wife was tired so decided to stay. It was crazy warm in there with little air flow. I liked the atmosphere and ambience. Guess they wanted to make a point as we sat there for 15 mins without water or anybody coming by. Had to flag down what appeared to be a bus boy to get water. Finally had order taken by male bus boy who seemed he wanted to be anywhere else and said "I am waiting". We ordered two "specials" and the bœuf bourguignon. Two separate couples came in and were served before we received our food. So hard to eat as it was 80-85 degrees in there. The beef was good and would recommend. The two specials were chicken and very very dry. To wrap it up we had to hunt down the wait staff to get the ticket as they actively avoided eye contact. Fairly expensive for just ok food and horrible service. Customer service is not hard. A "Welcome" or "Glad you came in" goes a long way.

We were seated at 7:05 and were not waited on until 7:30, drinks did not arrive until 7:40, first course came out well past 8:00pm. The table next to us had to specifically request that waiters actually describe the plates they were serving, to which they responded by bringing out the menu so they could read the description of the dish?? My wife tried to order a dirty martini but alas no olives in the whole restaurant which seems kind of crazy when you have a full bar. Food was aesthetically pleasing while lacking in almost every other department, particularly the smoked tuna starter and the turbot. Some might even go so far as to call it borderline unseasoned.

Shame there is so little for vegetarians and both dishes on the menu were pasta dishes. Having been to many restaurants in France you notice the huge change in menus and choices for vegetarians. You have to order all the courses up front. The wine list and cocktail list is also quite extensive albeit a bit pricey. It is quite a cosy space with nice seats and ironed white table cloths. Staff are very welcoming and efficient but not very engaging. Missing the Irish friendly touch in the service. Food is quite nice here, nothing spectacular. Food lacked a bit of seasoning but the flavors were good. I absolutely loved my soufflé for dessert and the steak was cooked to perfection. The black truffle with the entree and main was not very intense or flavorful. Overall a nice meal and I would come back here again.
