Ultimately, the name seems reminiscent of a time when the exterior of the building matched the fare and the building was filled with newspaper-lined tables and shells on the ground. But now it's a nice, clean diner that deserves a peak into next time you drive past. The bartender was there to greet me and she set me up with some menus and gave me a few moments to decide on a drink. As beer is not really my thing, i found a decent glass of Côtes du Rhône to get started with. The menu is decent sized and I wasn't completely famished, so I went straight for the steak frites. Myself, a fellow diner sitting next to me, and the bartender (her name was Brooke, by the way) decided it should be med / rare in case the kitchen was off by a level. Turns out the kitchen was spot-on with the medium rare, and this bad boy was just fabulous both in the way it was cooked and seasoned. The accompanying shallot-parsley herb butter and the green beans were both perfect. I literally cleaned the plate.
