O. M. G. I know I can be a cynic and hard on places. Marcella's blew my mind. My wife use to live in this area and while we were driving though she said we should stop for lunch I'm so glad we did!!! It's a joke in the was, BUT NOT A DIVE!!! Quite the opposite! Ver upscale! Feels like a Chicago pizza row in the heart of small town! It's aviation themed and every spot has something unique. The walls to the ceiling are decorated. My honest favorite part... the music play list! Had some modern but followed with Frank and the boys!!! We got in early and I'm glad we did because they were filled shortly after opening. Even being busy, the staff kept up with our drinks and the pizza was to die for! They bring you a couple of their famous garlic rolls to start. I enjoy garlic and they did not leave you hanging! I almost wish there was something inside the rolls or on top? We stopped in for a late lunch while passing through. We were a little concerned looking at the outside but once in the doors everything was great. There as amazing memorabilia everywhere. If you get a chance to visit make sure to take some time and look around. We ordered small (we thought) ..... To accompany my half order of lasagne I decided to take a chance and tried the creamy mushroom soup. It was delicious. My wife got a small (7 in) pizza and the Cesear salad (which was hugh, we both ate some and didn't finish it all). The entrees were large, hot, and made with fresh ingredients. We shared both and were stuffed. The staff was friendly and laughed at my lame jokes. My only complaint is that they don't have sweet tea, but the raspberry tea was good. We order from here fairly often. A couple weeks ago we ordered our regular pizza and they messed it up and put sausage and mushrooms on my wife's half. We didn't discover it until we got home. This restaurant had great pizza before the Covid lockdown, during which its taste faltered. Well, it's back, big and great as ever. Thin crust pizza, ravioli and shrimp (!) were all excellent this afternoon. Fresh vegetables with super marinara on a hearty crust makes this one heck of a pizza. Came on Fri night early and it got packed quick! I can see why. Between the fabulous service & excellent food, and quality product that Marcella's puts out, this place isnt even barely 5 star, its a rock solid 5 star!! Deciding to do carry out as I came in, I ordered Spinach Margherita pizza. I told the waitress to get me a beer and Id wait on the bar side by the carryout customers. I had an Alpha king from 3Floyds on tap that sure brightened me up after a hot sweaty day outside at work! And then a new twist. Even though, I was at a table on the "bar side waiting for my carryout pizza, different waitresses came by to check on me. This even though they all had tables to wait on in the main part of the restaurant. This while several worked on assisting carryout customers. Truly amazing! I was asked if I was interested in any thing else while enjoying my suds? I said yeah Im sure after15 min it will still be a wait for pizza so I ordered a side of 3 dinners rolls which come with garlic & olive oil. Those were very tasty! Just as my finished my 23 oz beer and was pondering ordering a small one, my pizza arrived. I asked them to give my 2 checks, one for pizza & one for beer & appetizer which they gladly did. So I carried out and began to nibble on pizza on the way to where I was staying. Big mistake, before I knew it , id eaten 1/2 a 16 inch pizza and had to stop cause the rest was supposed to be for my lunch tomorrow and possibly dinner. Bit of a crunch ti the crust, nice fresh toppings. Not too much spinach and great taste with the Margherita style with the olive oil & tomato chunks. This pizza would do well in Chicago. Considering that I am from Chicago, this pizza actually impressing me is impressive. It is a wonderful thin crust pizza with a slightly sweet sauce which I threw me at first but I ended up liking it. I also enjoyed the sausage, it was the perfect amount of fat to protein and had a good amount of flavor in it. It was definitely not random cheap pizza, it was great pizza. We even took it for takeout and had to drive like 15 minutes to get back to where we were at and it was still good, I can only imagine what it would be like if we had it in the restaurant fresh. read more

Honestly? It wasn't anything special. The sign wasn't on outside, plus there's tinted windows so it looked like it was abandoned. We almost left to go somewhere else but decided to pop in and check; lo and behold they were actually open. We ordered a large pizza and some bosco sticks as an appetizer. The pizza was fine, I personally thought the sauce was too sweet but the crust was good and it was warm and filling. The bosco sticks were fine as well, nothing extravagant. Overall this place just had a strange theme, there's airplane decorations and a strange selection of pop music playing. Seems like they don't know what kind of an atmosphere they're going for. It's good food but it's not consistent. Sometimes I get a GREAT pizza and sometimes it's not so much. The dough is very inconsistent. On the same pizza the dough can be 1/2 thick n on same pizza it's very thin like 1/8 inch thick. When I order extra sausage sometimes I get a decent amt of sausage and sometimes I get like 1 or 2 pcs of sausage on a slice. Sometimes they put a ton of cheese on and other times it's very thin. I'm to the point I'm just gonna drive the 30 miles and get Gelsosomos or Aurelios. Its same price, but always good. My photos wont attach. read more

My friend lives in the.middle.of.nowhere.Indiana. It took us about 20-25 minutes through fields to get to this place, but it was definitely worth it!! We got here around 5;30 on a Saturday night. There were 3 adults and 4 kids in our group, and there was a slight wait for the table. Maybe 5 minutes (note, that when we left an hour later, there were a BUNCH of people--very awkwardly--standing around waiting, so get there early or be prepared to wait). The pizzas I saw on everyone else's tables looked amazing! My daughter ordered a sausage pizza, but didn't really care for the actual sausage. She liked the rest of it, though. I got the "Marcella's Helper" which was really delicious. It came with caramelized onions, noodles, sauce, and some other things mixed in there that gave it a delicious flavor. Yum!! The curly fries we added were great as well! My meal also came with salad and my choice of garlic bread or the garlic rolls they have (see the picture--they are amazing). These came with huge chunks of garlic sitting in a pool of delicious oil, and baked to perfection. So amazing! I wish they saved better because it would have been nice to have been able to show my husband (a fellow garlic lover!) For all of that food, our bill was $24 + tip, and we had a TON of food. The service was really good as well! I will definitely go back if we are ever in the area! read more

A local spot I wouldn't have stopped at if the blueberry farm we were at told us to. Wife enjoyed the mushroom soup,I liked the house garlic dressing. The lasagna was home made and had great flavor but lacked a little presentation as it came out in a bowl. Known for their garlic rolls and yep, they were good. We were in the area for a wedding and the rehearsal dinner was held at Marcella's. WOW! I HIGHLY recommend Marcella's when you are near Wheatfield, Indiana. It is well worth it to divert your travel plans and get off I-65 to eat there. The restaurant is located at the far end of a large strip mall, so there is plenty of parking. I half expected to walk into a Little Italy-themed restaurant, and was pleasantly surprised that the motif was aeronautical, with the waitstaff dressed as Pan Am flight attendants. Excellent! Just a note about the staff... GREAT! We had a large party of about 30 people, with a full restaurant and they never skipped a beat. Our dinner options had been preset, so we never looked at a menu, but judging by the size of it, it's extensive. We were served hot garlic bread rolls, a variety of hot-wings and salads. All very good. Then the pizzas same out. They brought out a variety, which was great. My favorite was the margarita pizza, FABULOUS! However, all of the pizzas were terrific, so you can't go wrong. The sauce and cheese on each pie was incredible, very tasty. Loved the thin crust. They had a nice offering of wine and beer and the desert we were served was nice. Highly recommend. We will definitely make this a stop when we come back through. read more

Terrific food in a charming atmosphere. I took my in laws here in their first visit to the area. They were very pleased with the laid back, welcoming atmosphere combined with hearty, well-cooked meals. Our staff was very attentive to our needs even though she was very busy. My wife and I recently moved to the area from Chicago. We were concerned about "Where are we going to find a decent pizza out in these parts" ? Well it turned out ,Marcella's was a great find.The pizza we tried was a thin crust Pizza.They serve thick crust,but we are not big fans of thick crust pizza. Marcella's sause is a sweet sauce. I have been eating here for a few years now, It had been a while since we had a chance to re-visit. I use to love their pizza better than any around but this last visit it was very expensive! I was okay but not happy with $17.50 for a 12 inch pizza but $3.25 for a non- alcoholic drink is a deal breaker. Drink cost are a sneaky way to increase the bill! I will not be dinning in here anymore and in fact most likely will go to another local pizzeria even for carry out. Stopped in April 9th for dinner and I got the Stromboli. This Stromboli has gone down hill in quality. Most Stromboli are baked in the pizza oven and this one wasn't. The bun was not toasted at all and the sauce was cold. However the cheese and meat were hot and melted. If I had to guess maybe the meat and cheese were thrown on the flat top or microwaved and then thrown on the bun. I got the deep fried chips which are usually pretty good. Guys if you are going to serve Stromboli at a pizza place then do it justice and cook it in the Pizza oven. Next time I think I will go to Pav's. read more
