They stopped accepting my insurance although it hadn't changed and were not careful with helping me keep my out of pocket expenses lower. They tried to stick with me a $90 invoice for an error on their part and that didn't sit well with me. Avalon Dental has been taking care of me for about two years now. With Avalon, I am clear on what my out of pocket costs will be up front. They have been able to accommodate me when my insurance has changed. Their high quality of leadership is apparent and their customer care is top notch. I feel well taken care of and appreciated. Each staff member has done a great job from the front desk to the dentist chair. I would highly recommend Avalon Dental Group to anyone who needs a dentist and a wonderful experience.

This would be my 2nd year, and could have been my children's 2nd year, with Avalon. Last year's…read moreexperience was exceptional for me and my children because we were new patients, IMO. I had an appointment with them today for a cleaning, which, unbeknownst to me until I had to pay my co-pay, turned out to be a periodontal cleaning. The co-pay was higher than usual, and, of course, I questioned it since I have exceptional insurance. The person I spoke to TRIED to be patient while explaining to me the difference between a periodontal and a regular surface cleaning. Not sure why they're taken aback when patients question their services and prices. This is a service business the last time I checked. My next scheduled appointment is in July, and I moved my children's appointment onto the same day, which will make it easier for me to cancel our appointments if I choose to. It's a new year, so my dental insurance just reset. Prior, my and my children's dental group of 5 years were the excellent until we had to move. Within throwing distance we have Sapphire, Grand Mission, Studio Dental, etc. who have high ratings, not only on Google, but also on Yelp. I have options.

I initially had a very positive experience with this dental office, and both my husband and I…read morebecame patients. Early on, my husband was advised to get a deep cleaning that cost around $600 out of pocket even with insurance. After that, he was placed on a 3-month deep cleaning schedule at $400 per visit, which we trusted at the time. Because of that trust, I even upgraded our insurance to a top-tier plan. During my own visits, I was consistently told my teeth were in excellent condition--multiple staff members commented on how clean and healthy they looked, even though I had gone two years without dental care prior. However, my experience took a concerning turn. At one visit, I had minor gum irritation from eating hard food the night before. Suddenly, I was told I had gum disease and would need a deep cleaning at my next appointment. The cleaning that day felt rushed and incomplete, which I found unusual. At my following visit, I had scheduled a regular cleaning instead of a deep cleaning. The dentist reacted with visible frustration and pressured me to proceed with the more expensive treatment. I was told that if I did not get a deep cleaning, it could jeopardize their professional licenses. As someone in the medical field holding multiple licenses, I found this statement extremely inappropriate and misleading. Patients have the right to decline treatment, and using fear as a tactic is unacceptable. I ultimately agreed to a regular cleaning but was required to sign a liability waiver. The hygienist appeared visibly nervous throughout the procedure, although she did perform a thorough cleaning. What is most concerning is that after all of this, I left the appointment without even being clearly informed whether or not I had a cavity--something that should be a basic part of any dental visit. The focus seemed to be entirely on pushing an expensive procedure rather than providing complete, patient-centered care. Dr. Patel was to focus on pressuring me about a deep cleaning, then evaluating me for cavities. Also, be aware that while they advertise a $59 cleaning, X-ray, and exam, my experience suggests that this is often used as a way to upsell more expensive procedures--even if you have top-tier insurance. This experience raised serious concerns for me about consistency in diagnosis, pressure for costly treatments, and the use of fear-based communication. I can no longer confidently trust the recommendations from this office. I would strongly encourage others to seek a second opinion before agreeing to major or repeated procedures here.

I called that I needed cleaning. I got to the place, they said I needed full X-ray. They had all…read moresorts of X-rays, took some saliva test, took so many nonsense test that made ZERO sense to me. It felt they were doing everything in their power to bill me for whatever was left in my dental insurance since the year was coming to an end. After so many hours of time wasting, a blonde looking Dr came in, said I was losing bone teeth, that I was beginning to have large spaces on my teeth. She said even though I didn't have any cavities I still needed a laser deep cleaning, she said I'll need mouth guard too, I said I wear retainer to sleep every night religiously, she later sent a young black man to me that he is in charge of knowing what insurance would cover. The guy presented many bills, he said for all the X-rays done, he showed me that they charged my insurance about $1,500, and that my out of pocket was zero. He said for the complete laser deep cleaning, the total would be around $4,500, and my out of pocket would be around $1,500, I told him, I don't have all these, I ONLY wanted the regular basic cleaning. He left shortly after seeing, I wasn't ready to pay for these nonsense they were trying to sell me, and later on the blonde so called 'Dr' came back, telling me I'll needed 4 quadrant, and it cost $80 per quadrant, meaning, my out of pocket after charging the insurance another almost $1,500 would be $320. I felt like I was in a time share sales meeting. It was horrible and so unethical. In the end they didn't clean my teeth, and I was let go after fraudulently charging my insurance for nonsense test. Please RUN away from them. I hardly write reviews, but this is too important to just let go.
