The only complaint that I have is that their communication is lacking. I recently had an issue with contraindications for the oral sedation and it would have been great to know from the beginning that this was what the issue was. I was initially informed that my insurance didn't want to pay for it. After that was resolved I did the procedure with no sedation but they couldn't finish. I was told to return the following Tuesday to finish only to find out that they only wanted to do half of the remaining work and that I would have to come back a third time to actually finish. I told them that wouldn't work and now I'm waiting for a cancellation because they are booked into next year. Just be clear please.

It's been two years and I still can't seem to get an appt and I'm an established patient. Years between appts shouldn't be for established patients... unreal. The drs are great but scheduling absolutely sucks. Kicker- I get texts and emails non-stop to give them a great review so they can be "Santa Fe's best".... Why ask for a good review if you're not giving actual service?! Come on...

I didn't realize that they don't have a endodental surgeon on staff and they are a common dentist preforming root canals until after we were referred by Dentistry for Kids. It took several days to get an appointment and then they couldn't finish the job during the first appointment and wanted us to come back months later. I insisted they make an appointment much sooner much to their dismay. Hey also wanted to charge us $1,300 out of pocket without unstanding our estimate of benefits. I argued that they are wrong and I'd like a breakdown of our estimate of benefits, that they could not provide. Finally after they scheduled us a date to finish the root canal weeks after the initial procedure I asked about prescriptions since my daughter has been in immense pain and was concerned about continual infection. I asked about penicillin and the dentist reply "oh yeah I guess that would be a good idea". WTF kind of place is this???? My daughter has been screaming in pain for several nights still waiting for these idiots to finish the job. DO NOT USE THIS FLY BY NIGHT OPERATION!!!!!!!!

She will be a Senior when school starts in August and wanted them out before school started, a tight timeline. I called and spoke with Annie who she could not have been more helpful and understanding. She scheduled the consult for 4 business days out and said she couldn't schedule the surgery until after the consult. I mentioned that I was concerned we would miss an open slot if we waited, as time was short. Annie called me back a few minutes later and said she had gotten approval to reserve a slot the following week! I so appreciate her caring nature, professionalism and her extra effort to help us out. Bonita also comes highly recommended by Dr. Kayci Harris at Northern New Mexico Dental Center in Taos. And by my son, who works for DDent Labs in Santa Fe.

Then her ignoring me for minutes after my arrival (I called again while in reception while they chatted away ignoring me.) Then not telling me the doctor had gone into procedure until I had been waiting over an hour. It was another 40 minutes before seeing the Dr. Schow who literally lied to my face did not bother to read the paperwork Annie insists I fill out so the Dr. could review it before my appointment - Dr. Schow is inept. He didn't read anything I filed out, when questioned about the diagnosis of another Dr. and when caught in that lie seemed smug and contrite. Trust this Dr to perform surgery HELL NO. They are downright mean, even sadistic, unprofessional, and a complete waste of time and money (they don't take most insurance,) I suggest if you can go elsewhere to do so.

From the moment I walked in, they made me feel genuinely safe, seen, and comfortable. They were incredibly patient, checked in with me throughout the appointment, and offered breaks whenever I needed them--something that made a huge difference for me. Dr. Pisotti's calm, compassionate approach and the kindness of his staff helped me get through an appointment I would normally dread. I am extremely grateful to him and his team for the care and understanding they showed. If you're looking for an exceptional dentist in the Santa Fe area--especially if you struggle with dental anxiety--I highly, highly recommend Dr. Pisotti.

I went to Vida requesting new whitening trays. Dr. Detrik talked me into having the much more…read moreexpensive teeth whitening treatment done, saying its actually so good for the teeth, really wonderful chemistry and better than any other kind of whitening treatment and also, Id get the whitening trays along with the treatment. I say sure, go for it. Dial forward, Im in the chair getting this treatment done and the hygenist notes that my teeth are "already paper white." She seems a bit worried about the whitening going too far. We go through the treatment and afterward Im handed a bag that does not have whitening trays in it. I ask Dr. Detrik where they are. He says "Oh, you really dont need them, your teeth are already white. I had them include a light that you can use instead but honestly you dont really need to." I say nope, I want trays, isnt that what you did the whole high-tech super accurate mapping of my mouth for? Isnt that what I actually came here for, and what I actually paid for? Not this light that I could have bought on Amazon for $20?" So they ORDER my trays. Mind you, I had just paid them to put goop on my teeth to open the surface of my teeth chemically to allow the HOME tray treatment to work better. You are supposed to have the treatment then follow up with whitening trays the following two weeks because THAT is when the whitening happens. At home, with the trays. The trays he didnt order at the time I paid for this treatment because he was very clear in his mind that I do not actually NEED the 3k treatment he talked me into doing. And the trays? They arrived via mail about a month later. Far too late for the at home whitening to benefit from that treatment I just went through, spent so much money on. So, you tell me? What is the top priority for this dentist, this office? Is the top priority caring for your teeth in a clinically appropriate, and necessary way? Or is it $omething el$e?
