Amazing first night at the Marble Mansion. I stayed in the Pearl S Buck room which was beautiful and comfortable. I need to ask where to buy those squishy pillows, they were just right and I live for a good pillow! Due to poor/last minute planning on my part I'll be staying in a different room tonight and I look forward to seeing it! Breakfast this morning was elegant and delicious. Bacon is one of my favorite food groups so that's all I really need, but the coffee was quality, & the eggs were fancy. My only regret is that I'm here for a wedding weekend and I don't get to spend much time at the inn or exploring the area (gentlemen get all of the leisure time but us ladies have to prep). I will have to book a room (just one this time) in the fall or winter so I can get one of those fireplaces going!

This was a very comfortable refuge for me coming from California in the middle of winter and having never been to this region of Vermont. I attended a week of activities at nearby Green Mountain College, just a few miles down the highway while staying at the mansion. Sharon was very accommodating to ensure my personal comfort. Parking, privacy, internet and a great atmosphere were all plentiful. Additionally, the rates were fair and affordable when compared with other nearby B&B options. You cannot go wrong with this choice. Stay a few nights in Fair Haven. The mansion is right in town, yet surrounded by open space all at once.

A wonderful place to stay while in VT. Warm and inviting. Decorated in period style; you will feel transported to the early 20th century. Breakfast is a gourmet treat, and included. Even though we have family in Fair Haven, we opt to stay at the Marble Mansion while in town to feel like a true get away.

I absolutely loved this venue. I was visiting from California, came up to see my daughter who is a student at University @ Buffalo. We took some time off to venture out this way and visit the William Miller Farm in Whitehall, NY. I happened to hear about this place through the William Miller Farm Hosts. I was able to reserve two nights. They were very flexible with me when I had to change dates. We were treated so kindly and courteously. We requested plant-based options and they were so accommodating. Our host was so friendly. We enjoyed his company and his taking care of us to the detail. My daughter was pleasantly surprised to walk into the suite that I had chosen -- Jane Austin -- her favorite author! She was able to get some homework done, and at the same time just absorb the peace and quiet and beautiful surrounds. I truly recommend this awesome, affordable place. It is nice to know that the new owners are really upgrading this place. I love the history behind it. I highly recommend this experience.

    Thank you!!!

What a WONDERFUL place to stay! The "Inn Keepers", Stephen and Marianne, are so welcoming! Funny,…read moreengaging, knowledgeable! It was great to learn the amazing history of the property, its origins as well as the amazing work put in by the owners to restore the property to its glory! Our room, "Eagle Bridge" was comfortable and clean. Tastefully decorated in period pieces, with Grandma Moses prints on the walls. The bed was a little bit of heaven. I have NEVER slept so well at an Inn or BnB before. Breakfast was tasty, a cheese frittata, with an apple compote and a delicious apple cider doughnut. The classic Jaguars and the Volvo P1800 parked alongside the Inn, were also a fun diversion and Stephen loves to talk about them and I enjoyed the conversation about a shared love of cars. As we sat at breakfast in the sun-room, enjoying the view to the east of the Green Mountains of Vermont, a family of deer wandered by on the lawn. It was lovely. We will be back, that you can bank on. Never have we had a better BnB experience!

First off let me set the record straight- I really don't like Bed and Breakfasts. I've stayed at…read moresome pretty ones- in Ashland Oregon, in Maine. I just don't like the lack of privacy or the set time to eat or the forced conversation. When I'm traveling I prefer to chill. But this B&B has several things that set is apart and make me like it- a very casual atmosphere- a pretty location- a wonderful proprietor and policies that are different than most B&Bs. First off- there is no set time for breakfast. You can wander down when you like. Second- the lady who runs the place has come up with a brilliant plan- she sets a steaming hot pot of coffee outside your door in the morning so that you can drink your coffee in peace (and privately) before venturing down to the main room. So simple but I've never seen another B&B do that. There really isn't much in Salem NY so you'll only stop here if you happen to be in the area. But if you do and you have B&B phobia as I do you can safely book here. I just remembered the name of the lady who runs it- Laura. She's really nice.

I was bike touring through the area and needed a place to stay for the evening. I called up The Inn…read moreand Laura picked up, thank gosh! I would have been stranded otherwise, biking legs tired for the day. The inn is just what need and want, clean rooms and bathroom, friendly and helpful host (she told me where to bike the next day), beautiful grounds, friendly farm dogs and a tasty breakfast, coffee and tea the next morning at a time of your choosing. Thank you Laura for providing a wonderful retreat from a hard day's ride.
