It was great to learn the amazing history of the property, its origins as well as the amazing work put in by the owners to restore the property to its glory! Our room, "Eagle Bridge" was comfortable and clean. Tastefully decorated in period pieces, with Grandma Moses prints on the walls. The bed was a little bit of heaven. I have NEVER slept so well at an Inn or BnB before. Breakfast was tasty, a cheese frittata, with an apple compote and a delicious apple cider doughnut. The classic Jaguars and the Volvo P1800 parked alongside the Inn, were also a fun diversion and Stephen loves to talk about them and I enjoyed the conversation about a shared love of cars. As we sat at breakfast in the sun-room, enjoying the view to the east of the Green Mountains of Vermont, a family of deer wandered by on the lawn. It was lovely. We will be back, that you can bank on. Never have we had a better BnB experience!

The room has everything you'll need for your stay. Clean and charming. The mansion is full of history and beauty. And every mornings homemade breakfast made by Steve's wife was delicious! I came across this B&B because my daughter had just moved to Vermont and I was looking for a B&B to stay at. I wanted something nice because it was my first time going to Vermont. I was so happy I had found this place, it was a wonderful experience. The B&B and farm was so beautiful. The owners were amazing and the nicest people. I'm sorry I can't remember their names. I had a room on the first floor. I remember mentioning to her that I was visiting my daughter and that I wish I could cook my daughter her favorite meals. The owner mentioned that they had an apartment like room on the 2nd floor with a kitchen that was already reserved, however if the people who reserved it don't show up, I could have the room. They did not show up so I got that beautiful room with a outside porch and beautiful view. My daughter even slept over for a couple of nights and I was able to cook some of her favorite meals. The stay included breakfast which was the best. The house was so charming. It was the best experience I ever had. The following year I drove and called to book a room and found out no pets were allowed. I was devastated. I would have been a life long customer. I highly recommend this B&B. Also, best maple syrup ever!

Definitely not because if you find yourself in the sweet little town of Granville, NY, you're in for a treat: Mickey and Wayne have put their heart and soul into renovating the old Granville train station into a stunning bed and breakfast, the Station House B&B. When we arrived late in the evening to check in, Mickey was there to greet us and make us feel at home. And her kindness and grace poured over into every detail: from the historic photos, to the antique tables and chairs, to the timely holiday decorations, to the abundance of mugs and tea, which were always available. For which I say thank you! Because we were traveling in a party of 8, we occupied 4 of the 5 rooms, which was fantastic because that afforded us the opportunity to glimpse each cozy space. Three of the rooms have their own bathroom, but two have a shared bathroom. For us, it was no problem since we were all family. This one minor detail is something to consider when selecting your room. Each space is unique, from the name to the decor. Every detail is thoughtfully selected and creates a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel like you're coming home each night. Although the walls were a bit thin in our room, the Ticket Office, James F and I slept like rocks, we were so comfy! But it doesn't end there. Gotta get to the breakfast part, of course! Coffee was always ready at 7AM and breakfast at 8AM each morning. Well, oftentimes breakfast was waiting for us well past 8AM because some of our group are late risers. And my god, the breakfast spread presented each morning was fantastic: tea, coffee, orange juice, pancakes, french toast, bacon, ham, pastries, yogurt, pudding, it goes on! Basically, everything to keep our bellies happy and ready for the long days ahead. Truly, what hospitality! To Mickey and Wayne: thank you for creating such a friendly and beautiful B&B! As I sit and type this back in Denver, I'm longing for that wonderful breakfast spread! It was truly a pleasure to stay at the Station House B&B.

They were great to chat with and just good down to earth people. We stated in the Freight Office. What a lovely spacious room and the bathroom was massive. There was a wide variety of food and everything was made to perfection. I honestly felt like when I used to go to my grandmas house...lots and lots of home cooked goodness! We totally can't wait to come back again. Love the place and owners!

Day one was waffles, bacon, and fruit. Our second and last day led us to a nice quiche with sausage and homemade crumb cake...drool. Preston took the time to sit and converse with us while we are and made a real effort to get to know us. We loved hearing some of his stories about the house and about the area. I just don't like the lack of privacy or the set time to eat or the forced conversation. When I'm traveling I prefer to chill. But this B&B has several things that set is apart and make me like it- a very casual atmosphere- a pretty location- a wonderful proprietor and policies that are different than most B&Bs. First off- there is no set time for breakfast. You can wander down when you like. Second- the lady who runs the place has come up with a brilliant plan- she sets a steaming hot pot of coffee outside your door in the morning so that you can drink your coffee in peace (and privately) before venturing down to the main room. So simple but I've never seen another B&B do that. There really isn't much in Salem NY so you'll only stop here if you happen to be in the area. But if you do and you have B&B phobia as I do you can safely book here. I just remembered the name of the lady who runs it- Laura. She's really nice.

I would have been stranded otherwise, biking legs tired for the day. Thank you Laura for providing a wonderful retreat from a hard day's ride.
