I've been wanting to try this place for months, and I'm happy I finally went with a friend. We each ordered similar dishes, one being chicken and one pork. I was really happy with the plate that was provided, especially the tzsaski sauce. Food is served on styrofoam plates with plastic utensils. You order at the front of the restaurant (no sit-down service), and drinks are self-serve. Beer is also available for purchase. The inside was unique and quaint, and quite frankly, I'm surprised there weren't more people there. Will probably be going back.

Chicken Kabob Platter with Salad

I enjoyed the hummus and chicken kabob platter I had on my last visit. The place had a kind of old school / casual dive bar feel (because they do have a dive-ish bar inside) and I dig that. I think I will probably hang out here again soon. They have a large menu of Greek specialties. I will probably try their Gyro on my next visit... I had a salad on the side which tasted fresh and the pita served with my hummus was served warm. Pretty Nice! One small caveat - they do close kind of early. on weekdays I came in at 8:09 on a Tuesday and the fellow at the counter said, ¨We close at 8:30 tonight" (the front door sign says 8:45 - which is still sort of a strange closing time - on a weekday near a college (?) ECU - East Carolina University...). So, I scarfed down my food (quite tasty) and left by 8:32. I counted four other tables still eating when I left - so I don´t think I was an imposition. I will say - if this place was open til 10:00 on weekdays I would be there very often. I will be back. I liked the food and I also like the ¨dated¨ style of the interior.

Athenian grilled cheese, takeout

Decided to give this place a go on my lunch break to support local. I got the chicken kabob sandwich and Athenian grilled cheese. Both were very good. I'd get either or both again, though you'd likely need 2 items as I did to satisfy the appetite of an active adult. I did wait almost 45 minutes for my order. I understand being busy at lunch but that seemed unnecessary. Sanitation score was also below what I'm normally comfortable with. Surely it'll be back up soon...

Lots of vegetarian options and great service! The spanakopita was delicious and the falafel was some of the best I've had!

The food is amazing! You have to try the steak & cheese sandwich. I have been dining here since I was a teen.

However, I'm glad to say my instincts were completely wrong on this one. My business colleagues told me all the ingredients are locally sourced, and the based of taking diner food and making it a little more modern (without the pretentiousness). The space matches the concept - modern diner. I tried the following: - Daily Bread: Very good. Nothing like freshly bread and butter. - Spaetzle Mac & Cheese: Excellent. I've had spaetzle and and I've had mac & cheese, and this was as good as interpretation of mac & cheese I've ever had. A lot of my colleagues thought this was the most memorable dish of the night. - Pickled Things: Good. I always like trying new things, and pickled blueberries and fried saltines were new to me. Really nice surprises. - Daily NC Catch (Trout): Very good. Trout was just as perfect as can be with a nice crispy sear on the skin, and meat was still tender. The risotto underneath was good, but a bit over-seasoned. Service was incredible. The server was interactive, fun, attentive and doing a masterful job of single-handedly managing a table of over 12 people, which is never easy. Overall, a great meal. Really great food with service that made us feel like restaurant regulars. If I happen to visit Greenville NC again, I would definitely make sure to return.

The daily catch was trout and the beef was a hanger steak. We weren't too sold on either tonight so I got the chicken sandwich. The chicken was cooked really well but there was so much hot sauce on it, I would def ask for it on the side if you're not someone who wants hot sauce dripping through your bun. Also got the truffle fries which tasted a lot like oil and were just ok! The server we had was very friendly but we sat with empty waters (hard when you have a very hot sauce-y sandwich) and the girl walking around with water walked right past us at one point. Native is typically where we go for our celebration dinners, tonight being our two year wedding anniversary, and I think we will switch it up next time because of this trip.

From the parts I got to see inside was small table seating around the bar. We got lucky to sit in at the outdoor covered patio seating which was great minus perhaps some outdoor heaters to warm it up a bit. Service was good overall. Servers were fun and helpful. Service a bit slow on our drink refills but the food running and table bussing was fast. Food was great, wished I had taken pics to share. Menu consisted of a good selection of apps, sandwiches, burgers and sides. Everything we tried was great. Chicken nachos were awesome, wish they had been a bit bigger but the topping portions was perfect and the taste amazing. The Cuban and fried pork chop sandwiches were again great and the spicy sweet potato fries were so good. Potion sizes were good and the food tasty. The nachos and spicy sweet potato fries were my faves. While probably not the place for young families, this was a hidden gem and fantastic find. Not really for those in wheelchairs as it is tight getting through the bar area, but there was a small ramp I recall. Bathrooms could use some work, about what you'd expect at your local dive bar but only a single stall and could be cleaner. Highly recommend this place.

We got the pulled pork and chopped brisket, cornbread, mac n cheese, baked beans and a bottle of sauce (included). We felt the value for amount of food was great, and I loved that they included smaller containers of most, if not all, of their sauces so we could try them! The corn bread was great, a couple pieces were pretty dark but still warm and fresh. The baked beans, for me, was a highlight! They were so good, whatever sauce they're cooked in was SO good, I ended up dipping my pulled pork/ brisket into that instead of the sauces!! So good!!! Our kids liked the Mac n cheese, we thought it was pretty good too! Loved that the pulled pork came with no sauce, made it super easy to portion it out for my husband and keep it fresh. Thee brisket came sauced, but the flavor was really good so we were fine with that! Overall, we'd definitely do this once in a while. It was about $90 total for the family meal, which is a little steep for a regular family meal. But flavor was great, everything was fresh, and we very much enjoyed it and will have leftovers for days!!

It just feels stagnant and uninspired. Nothing new, nothing seasonal, nothing exciting. If you've been once, you've basically seen it all. The food itself was bland and boring. Dishes lacked seasoning and creativity, and nothing stood out as memorable. For the prices they charge, you expect at least some depth of flavor, but everything felt flat. Service was also slow, even though it wasn't especially busy. We waited far too long for basic things, and the staff didn't seem particularly attentive or professional. There was a noticeable lack of urgency and overall polish. Overall, it feels like a place that hasn't evolved in years -- same menu, same energy, same issues. Unfortunately, it just doesn't live up to expectations.

We ended our amazing dinner sharing an incredible white chocolate bread pudding. The place is kitschy & cool, taking full advantage of a busy storefront display. We look forward to returning.
