I walked into the Marathon Nail Spa, and instantly noticed how clean and how new all of the equipment was. I got the best pedicure I have ever gotten and I am extremely picky when it comes to my pedicures! The staff were so friendly, made me feel welcome (highly recommend Calvin, however they all were awesome). 10/10 recommend this nail salon! Horrendous experience.. overpriced .. worst job I ever saw .. unprofessional. I called and sent the owner Lilly pictures on her phone .she said she did nails over 40 years .. well perhaps a new pair of glasses is needed because the paint job we uneven and a total shit show. I called to try and have them repaint but I was told by the other nail tech . A family move that she was not in. In all honesty I don't even want her touching my nails. I got tips and a pedicure here last weekend. The salon is pretty and clean looking. Pedicure chairs were very comfy. Convos with locals were entertaining - you could tell they have a community of locals that love this place, a la barber shop conversation. My manicurist did my tips SO well, they look natural. The only reasons I'm not giving the full five stars is because only the tools used for my pedicure we're in a sealed sanitary bag, and also because the owner insisted that gel manicure cures are good for your nails, even as I told her it made mine brittle. I mean, I get that your salon focuses on gel manicures because the ocean doesn't make it wear away as easily, but don't invalidate my experience with gel manicures, that's not cool. Worst $25 manicure I've ever had! I pay $11 for a manicure in NY, I get my nails filed, cuticles trimmed, a nice hand massage with lotion, base coat, color, a top coat and a nice back massage to finish. I realize I'm not in NY so it's $25 here, okay, I make an appointment. I don't get a friendly greeting when I walk in, no biggie, they tell me to pick a color and point to all the gel polishes. I told three different people I want a REGULAR manicure, they tell me yeah, those are the colors. I pick a color and sit. Nails filed, cuticles cut, as soon as she starts to polish my nails, no lotion, no massage, no base coat, another customer walks in who wants a $55 powder manicure, the rest of my manicure was rushed. Without the UV light on gel polish, my nails smudged, dented and are peeling. I won't be back. read more

Highly expensive $55 for a deluxe spa pedi that promised to removed callouses and it didn't. We left with rough feet. No special mask or booties to soften feet. No extra scrubbing of heels. As for the mail painting, sloppy, my grandsons who are young could Have done a better job. Won't be returning here . They acted like they were in a hurry, and the place wasn't busy. read more

To be honest, I never wrote a bad comment on anything until now. I was going to this salon as a regular costumer at least 2 times a month for past 6 months. Linda is doing good job. The owner is very rude and most of the times asking very personal questions (about income, relationship status and many more) She did my nails few times and I wouldn't recommend her at all because she is very careless and imprecise. However I continued going there because of Linda. Today, I have been charged 70$ for acrylics ( I do it all the time and the price was never that high ) When I asked why is that high she simply answered because I removed the old ones ( that she did 2 weeks ago and they broke ) Long story short, beyond unprofessional. Horrible experience at this salon. Set an appointment at 9am 3 weeks in advance to have my nails and toes. I get there 10 ahead of time. No one is there yet... they show up at 9am for 9 o'clock appointments. Nothing like being ready and waiting for your clients. I walk in with 2 other people neither have an appointment. They stated they were walk-ins. I have my appointment with the owner she is the only one that know how to do my acrylic nails. She is no way to be found. I ask as they start on the other 2 clients " Where is the owner ?" She is on her way? What? I sit and wait 15 mins I ask again " Where is the owner? My appointment was for 9am " All they can say is she is on her way. She walks in at 9:22am has to get all set up ... ridiculous not to be ready nor be on time. She literally starts to cut my nails down and start to do the fill and her phone rings. She scrambles to find her phone. It's her family calling asking where she is ? I can hear the caller. She has forgotten that they have an appointment she has to take them too by 10am!!!!! It's now 9:30am Remember she showed up late at 9:22am. She literally is rushing thru my fill. Proceeds to cut not 1 but 3 of my fingers while filling my nails. I tell her to slow down and stop rushing thru my appointment. Her phone rings again with her family members telling to to come home to get him. She stands up in the middle of doing only one hand poorly mind you .... And walks out !!! I tell her you can't just leave me like this you have only done one hand. And badly at that I'm bleeding from 3 fingers. She walks out !!!!! Mind you there are now 6 total people already seated at station waiting to be done. There are only two people working at the salon now that the owner walked out after being 20 mins late. The other gal is working on one of the first 2 people there when I arrived. Owner yells at her to finish my up with polish ummm NO they aren't finished. She starts to actually try to Polish clear coat my nails ??? One hand is half finished the other is not close to Polish. Total Joke !!!! I have been going to this salon for 3 years now. Never Ever again !!!!!!' Do not waste your time. They have the most unbelievable unprofessional salon period. There are others nail salons in Marathon that are much better and will not be so highly unprofessional!!!! Slow service. Ok pedicures. Clean and friendly but pedicures didn't hold up. Polish was peeling the very next day.

If I could give it a zero star I would. The products are poor quality. If you want just a regular mani and pedi they get upset and argue with you that you should get gel. My nails chipped the same day and he only gave me one coat of paint. He Didn't want to file my nails that were jagged. I had to point it out to him several times. He just got upset about it. He was rude and you can tell he just wanted to get me out of the way. Then expected a tip. I tip regardless but what a terrible experience. read more

Please BEWARE! We had a terrible experience, probably worst nail salon experience in my life! Took my two daughters to get their manicures. Everything was rushed. The nail technicians DID NOT even wash hands between clients! No had massage as included at reputable nail places as part of a full manicure. One technician working on two clients at the same time. When we got there we were directed to pick nail polish. My daughters picked from the regular nail polish section. The guy who did my 11yo nails then switched the polish to GEL without me knowing! I realized way too late and she did not object as she has never had gel manicure and did not know! When I pointed it out he basically said "oh well, it is done already". When she asked for two different colors being applied to every other nail he said "you can only have one nail of different color per hand"... He was rude! They were going to do gel for my 7yo but I stopped them and she got regular as planned. Despite this horrible experience and clear "upgrade in service to upcharge without client conset".. the guy charged me $45 for gel and $20 for regular manicure. Ok, I called ahead and was told I could get an apppoint at 12:30pm. I arrived and then sat for 1/2 hr before they took me. Then the guy doing my nails has his baby in the shop. So another 10 minutes I had to wait while he dealt with his crying baby (who is adorable) but completely unprofessional to hAve their child here and not accommodate the customer. This was my 2nd time going to this salon, the first time (unnamed- we will call her flower) did my nails perfect! Looked wonderful so I made sure to go back and book an appointment with her! She rushed through my nails, they are sharp, middle finger is mis-shapen and has polish on my cuticles. She has been doing nails for 35 years I have confidence my 13 year old daughter could do better. Is this how you treat repeat customers? I get it was a Friday night and you were rushed to leave but then don't take the appointment. I am a paying customer and I expect quality service. I still tipped well, but obviously knew she was in a hurry and wasn't going to ask her to fix my nails. I was excited to start business here but needless to say I am still on the prowl for a quality nail tech. I was extremely let down and have re-booked a new polish tomorrow! Yay!
