This was a very cute hole in the wall, all the food was so delicious. This place had the best chorizo I had ever had in my life!

Fun place with a mix of a store with typical Portuguese gifts, restaurant and cocktail bar. On a nice day as to seat on their rooftop terrace which is GORGEOUS!!! Staff is super attentive and very friendly. Cocktails are fabulous. Portuguese traditional yummy food with a modern twist. Before or after you meal or drinks make sure to take some time to browse the different little rooms and levels with Portuguese traditional items for you to take with you home.

The olives are delicious. Such a neat combination sweet, salty, and savoury. I ate "olive" them. :) I had a green salad. It was healthy and tasty. Lots of good veggies in it, not just greens, it included cabbage, peppers, and made an overall heartier salad. Pork sandwich was ok but lacked flavour. It didn't have sauces on it. Maybe condiments are a North American thing but the sandwich seemed dry, but the pork wasn't. It wasn't bad but I was hoping for flavour that matched the intensity of the olives. Great rooftop view, away from the busy streets. Service was friendly. Would definitely come back.

Service and atmosphere: excellent friendly staff, super neat bathroom, nice decor and comfortable seating with plenty of space between tables Food: so good! - pumpkin soup €2.00 and came in a large bowl With croutons. Delicious! - fig and cheese toast €5.00 and was simply awesome! Two slices of toast filled w purple figs and honey Drinks: decent - coffee came out warm - there were soy alternatives - wine by the glass

Wonderful atmosphere and service, food was well curated too! definitely one of the finer places in Lagos and an awesome dining experience!

Phenomenal place. Probably the best restaurant in all of Lagos. Went here for dinner and breakfast the next morning because I loved it so much. It's fairly unassuming exterior belies a three storey gastronomic experience. The lower floor is a souvenir shop. The second floor is more a sit down dinner place where we ate - great service, well priced and quality food. The terrace is where we had breakfast and the views were stunning. Such fresh food, good selection and great service as usual. Highly recommend it!!

Great chill bar on top of the store. Cocktails. Great store; want to buy everything. First stop in Lagos and doesn't feel as touristy as the other places!

The food here was pretty good! We ordered tuna steaks and got a couple of Imperial Beers for our last dinner in Portugal. The tuna steaks were very tender and easy to chew. If I were to go back again, I would get two orders of the tuna steak with onions on top and french fries instead of one of those along with a tuna steak with hummus and vegetables. I think the tuna steak is a must-get since it is their signature dish, from what I read. We had a reservation, but it wasn't necessary. It was a little confusing to find the restaurant - it is on the second floor above a store - you have to take the stairs on the right side of the store to get to the restaurant above. read more

Phenomenal meal, attentive service and lovely ambiance. We had the octopus with mashed sweet potatoes and the tuna steak. Also a bottle of locally made rose wine. Both were delicious and beautifully presented. Daniel, our server, was friendly and very helpful with suggestions for the rest of our trip. The shop downstairs was a treasure trove, could have spent all night there. read more

Warm, cozy, and friendly place with delicious, moderately-priced local fare. The service was impeccable and attentive with a nice touch of complimentary Prosecco to start our meal. read more

Such a beautiful store with elements of the original architecture but made clean and modern in a coastal style. Selling all things made in Portugal, including home goods, baskets, trinkets, candles, oils, wines, music, books, and more. They have a gorgeous rooftop cafe with views to the sea, and a gallery featuring current local artists. Highly recommended for unique and authentic souvenirs (or just gifts to yourself!) read more

This is a cracking spot! You can shop for local artisan products, sip large Portuguese gins on the rooftop bar and eat fabulous food at their mid level restaurant! Everything about this place is just perfect! The food, drink, products for sale and the friendly staff! My favourite place in Lagos! read more

I was recommended to go here from our hotel casa mae. We were the only people there at 9p on a Tuesday and it was definitely best meal of our entire trip! We shared tuna and chicken and our appetizer was pickled octopus and tomato/egg dish. Would definitely go back! read more

History
Established in 2016.
Born in a dream, the idea needed a home that could host the stories, tastes, aromas, textures and the experiences of a simply unique Portugal. And so "Mar d'Estórias" has come to life in Lagos' Old Town Centre, amidst other places of great touristic and cultural interest.
Meet the Manager: Celia Real R.
I have always been very curious and interested in knowing how things are made. I love handicrafts and anything made by hand that tells a story. Mar d'Estórias is a dream come true.
