If I were to go back again, I would get two orders of the tuna steak with onions on top and french fries instead of one of those along with a tuna steak with hummus and vegetables. I think the tuna steak is a must-get since it is their signature dish, from what I read. We had a reservation, but it wasn't necessary. It was a little confusing to find the restaurant - it is on the second floor above a store - you have to take the stairs on the right side of the store to get to the restaurant above.

We visited on the first day of our recent trip to stock the villa with food and drink for the week. Luckily, they offer a free delivery service, so there was no need for us to carry everything back up to the villa. From visiting the shop to it arriving was roughly 3 hours. They have fresh counters for baked goods, meat and fish, which are especially good if you're planning on having a bbq at any point. The chicken kebabs and spicy sausage are especially good. If you don't want to cook it yourself, I'd recommend visiting the Look Steakhouse as it's owned and supplied by the butcher here. There is a well stocked section of toiletries and baby goods, so great if you've forgotten any last minute essentials. The dairy section is also vast, with a tonne of non-dairy alternatives, perfect for those who have any kind of allergies. Cigarettes, magazines and newspapers can also be bought from a small kiosk at the front of the store.

They are quick to get your order if you eat outside or are getting pastries to go inside. The space is nice and the outdoor seating area is the better option. I would recommend one of the regional pastries such as fruta de Algarve, which are similar to soft marzipan with a thick egg yolk and sugar mixture in the middle. It's not like marzipan in the States and a lot softer and has a better texture and flavor. The other would be the Dom Rodrigo, which comes in a little colorful foil packet. It's an egg yolk and sugar mixture that is in thin strings layered on top of each other and swimming in a simple syrup. It might be too sweet for some.
