But Lone Fir is rigid in how they treat customers and seems overly focused on making money. During our most recent visit, they refused to accommodate our party of 6 by finding a way to let us sit together. Rather than let us push tables together, bring 6 chairs around a table , or open up another seating area with tables of 6, we were forced to sit apart at tables of 4. They also have very high prices and find ways to run the cost up, like charging for a side of sauce. Our visit just didn't feel very welcoming. Downgrading a star for this and hope they improve the customer experience.

Their gift shop is stocked well with items that folks might actually need while going into ape caves or summiting Mt st Helen's. The restaurant portion here has one of the juiciest most flavorful burgers I've had- no joke. It came with shoe string fries that had seasoning (I believe it was rosemary). I also had the huckleberry lemonade and a hot coco and both were excellent. The staff were all very kind, welcoming, quick, and helpful. They even helped us find the weather report for Mt. St. Helens summit the next day and gave us some tips for having a successful hike. We stayed one night in a two twin room. The room was well decorated and clean as well as the beds being decently comfortable. Unfortunately the restroom had some things get missed during the clean. There were baby spiders all over the ceiling and climbing down the walls, it smelled strongly of urine, and there were globs of hair on the floor and in the shower- we had to use a hand towel to tidy up the floor and kill as many of the spiders as we could. This wasn't my first time staying here, so I know the bathroom being like that is not the norm- must have just been missed by accident. If I need to stay in Cougar in the future I would definitely still stay here again.

Staff informed us that the park is now owned by the Port of Woodland. Site 55 was gravel and it was level and gave us plenty of room for our truck and trailer. Checked out the upstairs club room and shot a round of pool. There was no one else in the room. Tried my luck fishing on the beach just below the park. No bites during the two days we were there. Obviously the fish didn't care for the coon shrimp offerings. Park is quiet and kept very clean, pool was open but we didn't use it. There is also a horseshoe pit and basketball hoop that we didn't use either. Will return again since it's so close to home and the location on the river can't be beat.

The spots are small, but we found a space where we could barely fit our van which is around 22 ft. I also could not see my vehicle from my room and I don't like that, especially in an area like this that doesn't feel completely safe. Our room was on the third floor and it was hot, so of course the ice machine was broken on the third floor. We had to take the elevator and walk around every time we needed ice. The room was basic and the chair in my room smelled of marijuana. I had to try and work on my laptop on the bed because just sitting at the desk in that chair gave me a headache. They do allow pets which is a plus for me. The fee is $25 per pet per night. There is no relief area though, so be aware of that. They also offered a breakfast of cereal and a few other items. We saw it as we were checking out a bit early but it did not look worth partaking in so I can't really speak to that. The worst part, I think, and the reason we left earlier than usual was because the room had one of those old toilets where you are holding the handle down for 30 seconds or flushing multiple times. That was annoying enough but when we woke up in the morning, we noticed the water was dangerously close to the top and looked as if it might overflow. We thought we were going to have to use the lobby bathroom but then we learned that someone on our floor had clogged up multiple toilets. It was a yucky situation but the staff seemed to get it cleared. They never came into our room but we heard toilets flushing around us and the water level went down so we were able to use the restroom in private before leaving. Luckily our stay at this location was short and although it's currently rated at 3.2 as I write this review, it probably deserves more like a 2.7 overall, so I am just trying to help out the average.

We absolutely love the private beach access--it's one of our favorite parts of the campground and makes for such a relaxing getaway. The staff is always incredibly friendly and welcoming, and both the booking process and check-in are quick and easy. The camp store is super convenient for grabbing anything you forgot or need during your stay. This year, we even hosted our nephew's birthday party here, and it was perfect! The park allows day visitors for just $8, giving them access to the entire park and private beach. It made it so easy for our family and friends to spend the day with us without having to camp overnight. One of our favorite things is watching the massive cargo ships pass by on the Columbia River. It's so cool to see them glide by from the beach--you don't realize just how enormous they are until they're right in front of you! The park is also incredibly dog-friendly, with plenty of space to walk, explore, and enjoy the outdoors. Between the berry picking, wildlife (they have resident giant geese, and we saw a ton of bats and a few deer!) and the beach, there's always something to do for both kids and adults. The only thing I'd suggest is a little more attention to the bathrooms. They weren't bad by any means, but they're small enough that a more frequent deep clean would go a long way. Knocking down the spider webs more regularly and keeping the hand soap stocked would make an already great campground even better. We'll definitely be back again next year. Reeder Beach has become one of our favorite summer traditions!
