I find it hard to pick a fresh pie or food sometimes because the flies are all over everything. You can't wash fly poop off your pie. But the staff is friendly and welcoming and the place is generally well maintained. They hold events, have all kinds of seasonal activities for the public. I look forward to buying a basket of apples and other delicious treasures there every fall. It's great to see families, children having fun there...making new memories. They have so many unique ingredients. There is a lot of sugar free options, organic, etc. The staff are always helpful and engaging. Parking can be hard. Patience is the winner here.

Poughkeepsie Farm Project is conducting it outreach this weekend and next to attract new membership. It was wonderful to meet some of the new people who are considering joining the farm as a CSA member. It's an investment to be sure. You do need to pay for your shares upfront so that the farmers know how much to plant and can budget accordingly. That being said, they do accept credit card payments and even EBT/SNAP through their website ordering system. It's fun to pick up my share because one never knows what's been picked - it's a surprise every week. There's just one more pick up before we go dormant until late spring/June. I'm preparing and storing as much as I can to hold me over because I know where the food has been grown and I know it's chemical free. If you are in the region of the Hudson Valley/Poughkeepsie town, consider joining. With the price of produce and the supply chain glitches ( don't get me started on why), being assured that you will have fresh produce, fruit, mushrooms, eggs, yogurt, and cheese from a nearby local farm lends a piece of mind

There's a hay bale ride constantly cycling through the farm so you can hop on and off whenever you want, but the orchard is pretty walkable as well. Overall, the apples were sweet and the farm made it a fun and easy experience though I wish they also provided sticks for reaching apples higher up in trees. The corn maze was pretty fun and they have a few sheep to pet. They have several food options including vegan selections and their hard cider was pretty good.
