What a great experience!…read more My step dad is a mechanic and we found this place while searching local shops to get a transmission reprogrammed for my Lincoln MKX. We have never really used an auto repair shop, seeing as he does it all, yet this was one thing that needed to be done after replacing the transmission. One word : IMPRESSED. Quick and friendly service and honest opinions about the car - which is really appreciated - you don't always see this when going to a auto shop. If you are looking for ANY car service needs, go to Essex County Auto Repair. Highly recommend and we will be back if we need to be. Bravo!

One day, this guy is the owner, and the next month the other guy is, depending on who you have contracted your botched repair with. The game is too long to explain. Save yourself the disappointing and expensive experience. They are con men. These 2 guys at that garage appear to be in financial trouble and are in to screw every Porsche owner. They, or at least the first owner, have been around for a long time, so many older Porsche owners tend to have gone to that shop for services. They ARE NO AS LONGER KNOWLEDGEABLE AS other alternatives. Save your time and your well-being, do not waste your time and your well earned money with these folks! The absolute worst!

**For German car engine related issues, please stay away **…read moreIf your engine dies, but you love your car and are thinking about switching your car engine to one A.G auto service offers, do yourself a favor and stay AWAY from this option. AG auto service will quote price points based on "the mileage" of the "new" engine that is being installed; in reality, Angelo does not stand behind what he quotes, if need be. I spent well over 10K on my engine replacement only for the engine sign to come on soon after the installation. For Angelo to say "it's fine", for the "newer" engine to die within the year, and for Angelo to hold no accountability then. Do yourself a favor and buy the new car you need for years to enjoy and no hassle or headache with such shops. Truly disappointed!

Pete's Garage came highly recommended by people on some local Facebook groups, but it's hard to…read moreunderstand why. I brought my car in to fix a few issues, but all they did was give me a fairly expensive oil change. Over the next three weeks, they continued to string me along by saying that they were developing an estimate for the repairs. The estimate started at $3800, which I agreed to, but then a different person I spoke with said that they had "forgotten" to add a repair to the estimate, and that the real estimate was almost $8000. While it seemed outrageous that the price would essentially double over one thing they "forgot", I was desperate and they came highly reviewed, so I agreed and asked when I could bring my car in. Without any hesitation and without consulting anyone, the person I spoke with said that the almost $8000 estimate wasn't the ACTUAL estimate, and that they wanted to "look at the numbers again". To be honest, it felt like they were just jacking the price up to see how much I'd pay. I was nothing but pleasant and respectful over the phone, and they had given me my car back after the oil change, so this was not a situation where they were finding new things wrong -- they didn't have my car. This place does not seem honest or reliable at all. They didn't even attempt to fix the problems with my car when I brought it in. They gave multiple escalating quotes and didn't stick to any of them. They didn't call when they said they would, or at all.
