I wish I could say something about their work, but I scheduled an appointment two weeks ago and less than 24 hours before I was about to have my car towed there they called and cancelled the appointment. I was looking forward to trying someplace new for my 2000 Porsche Boxster. All he said was that he didn't have time to dive into a 24 year old Boxster and it would be two more weeks before he could look at it. The car isn't running right now and I don't want to wait two more weeks. Who wants to wait a month to fix a convertible in New England? Extremely great service! Brought my '17 BMW X1 in for front brake service, new pads and rotors. They were the cheapest out of all the "Indy bmw service shops" and close to $500 cheaper than what the dealer quoted. These guys know what they are doing with the German cars! I brought my Mercedes for the yearly maintenance. The Rep. was knowledgeable from the first phone call and the prices were half what the Dealership is charging. Other places could not give me a price over the phone. They either needed to see the car, or needed 2-3 days to look up what service A/B was & what it included. The North Shore Motor Werks Rep. knew what the service included and had a "set price" for it which means they had done it before & know what they're doing. I got the new (to me) BMW I mentions in my previous review and it goes to NSMW for all service issues. Just had both BMWs back to James & crew for oil changes. James recommended an oil additive for my X5 and seemed worried that I was thinking he was trying to up-sell me. My response, "If you think it needs it that's good enough for me." On my 328 he found a broken bushing and a differential leak. Told me the bushing should be repaired and that he could refill the differential and it's repair could be put off for a month or 2. No "the sky is falling" pressure like I got when dealing with the dealership. Once again, NSMW reaffirms that they are the best BMW Service location on the North Shore. As I've said before, try them. This was the absolute worse experience I ever had at any auto shop. I dropped my car off for a full brake job and two hours later got a call that, " ummm you have wheel locks and well ummm the lock kit was in the trunk and well ummmm we are just going to put a regular bolt on your wheel". I said wait what happened to the lock? I then got, " no one steels these wheels" And my wife's car doesn't have locks". what his wife's car had anything to do with any of this. I said well I dropped my car off with wheel locks and that's how I would want it back. He got angry and told me no and to pick my car up. I had to go keep calling back to try and reason with this shop..The guy at the shop continued to push back saying the lock was rusted. No not to break it that way the whole top broke off. I had tires put on 5k miles earlier with no issues. None and the lock was not rusted. No one should have to go through this for something they didn't do. They threw away an 1,800 job over $75 wheel lock kit. Nice going! Aweful experience and horrible customer service! read more

Finally I found a good and reliable shop with top notch mechanics!! After installing front M3 control arms upgrade package on a e90 330i I went for the alignment to a different BMW shop and they couldn't bring it to specs, I've been told that my rear sub frame is bent most likely. North Shore Motor Werks were able to bring the alignment to specs and about 30% cheaper than the other shop. Great job GUYS! Would definitely recommend to everyone! read more

Nathanial saved my car today! I had a crank pulley bolt break inside my crankshaft on my 2013 WRX, about 2" deep. I was not willing to extract it myself and wanted to get it professionally done. I had my car towed to the shop today, and by the end of the day they fit my car in and got the bolt out! This saved me from buying either a new crankshaft or short block if I wanted to do a hybrid swap. Cant thank these guys enough and will be going here if I need anything whatsoever on my WRX! I highly recommend them. Finally a shop that does amazing work at a great price! Thank you again. Staff is extremely friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Having moved here from a different state I was lucky to have found this establishment for all of my future repairs and car needs. My experience with these gentlemen started when I got into a car accident and needed a tune up as my check engine came on. My car would stall out like crazy - it was scary. They were not open and I drove there with my light on and George came out and asked if everything was ok. He checked my car with the code machine and told me it was ok for me to run it until I came in to repair it. This was while they were not open for business, folks! I was so grateful he did that. We took our Mercedes C240 to three shops before getting an accurate and thorough diagnosis of our cars issues. I'll like to include that Flagship Mercedes was one of those shops, who actually misdiagnosed the vehicle after having it for a week. They actually told us we needed an entire new transmission to the tune of $6500. It was actually an exhaust issue, which was about 1/4 of the cost. I have a manual 2005 Mini Cooper and started coming here back in the fall after poor visits to the Mini Cooper dealership. The dealership suggests outrageous unnecessary repairs based on mileage (mine nearing 150,000) and not what is actually going on under the hood. James and his team have given me great recommendations, explaining the process and repairs to me, and have done great work to keep my beloved coop on the road. Mini's require quite a bit of work, but they are fair in their work and estimates. They replaced my clutch, steering rods, wheel bearings, and several other things, and it's in great condition thanks to them. They really know their stuff and I trust their advice and work on my car above the Mini dealership. They're sociable and kind, and they provide loaner cars for free which is a big plus! read more

Absolutely the worst customer service had call to make an appointment after waiting a month to get the appointment James the owner call me up asking for information on what exactly was happening to my Vehicle as I started explaining to him all of sudden started to get aggravated and tell me it was going to cost thousands of dollars to fix the vehicle without even knowing what was wrong with the vehicle without even taking a look at it because he said he has years of experience etc having years of experience isn't going to allow you to make a statement like that until you physically look at the car on top of that he ask me how many miles were on the car ,so I tell him and all of a sudden he tells me I should just sell my car, first of all I never called this place to ask for an opinion on what I should do or not do with my car,I simply contact you to look at it to see if we can diagnose the problem, thats the first problem the second problem was the nasty attitude and the fact he hasn't even seen my car and know what the problem is, and is already starting assuming it was going to cost thousands of dollars really ? How do you know this information without having even look at the car ? Not every car not every problem is the same and yes experience is very helpful but how can you make a determination without evening taking an hour to check the vehicle ? this was all prior to the appointment, already having a negative attitude about what could be the cause to the problem of the vehicle assuming it was going to cost thousands of dollar without ever even looking at the car and telling me I should sell it all red flags I suggest people be extra careful dealing with shops like this, learn how to respect and talk to customers the right way very unprofessional and shady read more

I just moved here from California and I have been looking for a place to service my '08 Audi A4 Avant and I'm pretty sure I found the spot. My engine light came on last week so I stopped by here on Saturday (seems like one of the few places that is actually open on a Saturday, so thank you!) and the mechanic there was super friendly and super helpful. He hooked it up to the diagnostics and told me what the issue was, then spent another 15 minutes fixing the issue and cleared my engine light. Then, I asked what the bill was and he said, don't worry about it. I was super impressed and super appreciative cos that doesn't happen every day. My wife's maintenance light went on two days ago. Called this place and spoke to James (owner). I wanted it checked since we're going away for the long holiday weekend. He snuck me in at the end of his day today...told me it only needed an oil change right now, but also pointed out that her tires were overinflated by about 30 psi! Nice catch! Needless to say, we will not be bringing the car back to the franchise oil change place that starts with a 'V.' They are very good at overcharging and overinflating. The business ad here on yelp says "we service all makes and models". Apparently my pristine 2007 Saturn XR wasn't to up to their high standards. I stopped in to schedule an appointment for a check engine light. Two mechanics came out to ask me what's up? When I told them my check engine light was on and I would like to schedule an appointment based on the great reviews on yelp, the response was, "We only work on high end cars like BMW...try the gas station down the street, their good guys, they can help you".
