This is such a cute place. It's like the Canadian and cuter version of buccees. They have so much chocolate and fudge and maple syrup to try, and all of the maple syrup we tried in the tasting was sooo yummy. The lightest colored one tasted just like pure honey, and the darker they got the better they tasted for pancakes. This definitely worth stopping at if you're nearby Niagara Falls. We went in on the off season, if you go during the busy season I would highly recommend calling ahead to look into the tasting experiences they offer. We had a flight of three maple syrups along with an offering of small candies. The maple syrup was amazing, beware if you take a full shot of it very fast it's hard to also drink the other ones to their fullest as well. If you are looking for a place that is just a place to spend some money, this one is right there. We went looking for more of an experience, thinking maple production place and well that was not it. We were rushed over to a bar where we would receive samples and then we were just allowed to stand there. Eventually someone came over- "Oh do you want to taste?" But then you look over and you see me fudge counter and they're doing tastings there too. So we went over there I'm trying about four or five different kinds. I got the chocolate snicker fudge so good. We didn't buy any maple syrup but we did buy lots of fudge. Great gift shop with some nice high end gifts. Prices are a little high but you get a good deal with the American money. I love the little photo shoots outside. This is a great place off the beaten path on the north side of town along the river but still very tourist friendly in that you can try various local and Canadian food and drinks. It was a great place for our tour group from Over the Falls Tours to stop for lunch. My wife tried the delicious poutine, an amazing ice wine flight, very tasty maple beer, and a yummy Nanaimo bar for dessert. This is exactly what it shows- a tourist place to buy tourist stuff. The Wego south bus stops there regularly as well as large tourist groups. I got exactly what I wanted- rich delicious poutine, a taste of frozen maple candy, a quick syrup taste, and a place to buy some convenient souvenirs. If you're already down that way on the river and want a rest break, this would be nice. The workers are on auto pilot, don't expect more than their basic tourist engagement and surprisingly some things were sold out. After visiting the Floral Clock for the Zoom Tours, we went to Maple Leaf Place on a Friday around 5:30pm to do a maple syrup tasting! There were three different syrups we each tried. It was a cool experience doing this tasting because they taught us about the different types of syrup that Canada has! The syrups we tried were the Golden, Amber, and Dark. My favorite was the Amber syrup. The Amber syrup is a nice mix of sweetness without being too strong in the maple flavor, while the Dark syrup reminded me more of the American syrups. I'd recommend this place! The syrup tasting was fun and educational and this is also a huge gift shop with lots of cool souvenirs! We came here to get our souvenirs before returning to the U.S. This was, to me, one of the better souvenir shops. Additionally, they were giving samples of their maple products. There were a range of souvenir items that were unique and high quality but then some that were more affordable and more typical. We saw an ad about Maple Leaf Place at TableRock. We came here on a whim walking from the Aerocar. The WeGo South bus stops here. There is also a food court with a bathroom nearby. This is a tourist attraction so expect tourist prices. The maple syrup experience was a real treat that we brought home the tasting set for all our friends and family to try. We also bought the Amber maple syrup in a large size and a 3 pack mini size for gifts. They also passed out samples of their almonds which they had a variety like blueberry almonds and cherry almonds. We bought 3 bags because there was a promo. Maple Leaf Place also has lots of cool souvenirs which you may be able to find at other stores. If you have some time while visiting Niagara Falls, check this place out! We stopped by for a maple syrup tasting earlier today and it was a really positive experience. The lady taught us about maple syrup and gave us a flight to try. Maple Syrup Tasting: We started with the gold maple syrup. It tasted sweet but had a bit of a weird aftertaste or bite. This is the least flavourful, is in the trees the shortest amount of time and is the syrup that is shipped abroad. The Amber maple syrup was the one we tasted second. It has a deeper and more complex flavour than the gold flavour but it was really good. It was sweet and tasted like the typical maple syrup you would buy in-stores across Canada. The last one we tried was the deep maple syrup. It is the darkest and stays in the trees the longest. It has a more complex and deep flavour. It is definitely an squired taste and it would be drizzled on fruit or desserts in fancy restaurants. The tasting was really fun and costs $15 for two people. If you'd like a stop during your day this is worth a trip. They have a gift shop with lots of local art. We were glad we stopped in. They also sell fudge but it was closed when we got there. read more

Our tour stopped for lunch at the Hungry Moose which is inside Maple Leaf. It is a solid place to get a quick bite. Selection is limited to chicken fingers, hamburgers, etc. as well as a local specialty, poutine fries. Everything was very tasty and the place was clean, service was decent. Afterwards we meandered around the gift shop. They have a nice selection of souvenirs, more than just cheap trinkets. The best part was the maple syrup tasting. That was great! The young lady that helped us was extremely knowledgeable and the syrups were delicious. I never knew there was such a difference and variety! Good place to stop for a bite to eat, use the bathroom, grab a souvenir, and try some maple syrup! This place is huge! We didn't eat at the food court because it seemed extremely overpriced, a panini was $20, but there were a lot of others eating here. There was about five options, pizza, burgers, salads, paninis and more at different stands. The gift shop was large and had a lot of nice bottles of syrup. I purchased four small bottles for $15 CAD each and one large bottle for $36. Unfortunately, I found the same amount of syrup for cheaper prices at a store closer to the falls, so it's possible that this syrup is overpriced like the food court options. What I did enjoy a lot about this store was that they had signs telling you which syrup is best for cooking, using on dessert, or using on waffles and pancakes which I thought was helpful. Besides this, there were many other souvenirs to purchase, like tshirts and pajama pants. There was also a syrup tasting going on so the whole gift shop smelt like delicious maple syrup. The bathrooms here were clean and did not have any lines when we went. Outside of this facility were a few cute photo ops that my partner and I took photos in front of, like a giant moose and a sign that said Niagara Falls. This is one of those really fun souvenir shops that you occasionally run into while traveling. Shopping was really fun and they have a extensive variety of things to take back home with you. Be sure to check out Rossi Glass, where you can get a free glass blowing demonstration and watch as the skilled artisans create unique, mouth-blown works of art!! They are the only manufacturer to create Cranberry Glass, which is made from 22 Karat Gold. They also have a Food Court, Fudge Factory and Chocolate World located inside. I was a bit disappointed this visit to see that Chocolate World as it once was doesn't exist anymore. I preferred the big elaborate area they used to have dedicated to all the chocolate and candy, now it is just a very small counter that they sell the candy at. I was unimpressed and didn't buy any this time around. Don't forget to bring your camera.... They have larger-than-life Canadian icons that you can take pictures with for free which include our 15-foot-tall Inukshuk, Mounties, Teepee, Spoons, Thimbles, and of course, the giant Moose!! The guy who did the maple syrup tasting was not friendly at all. He never smiled, and his eye told us that he was not happy to help us. He answered all our questions, but when we tried to make little jokes to ease the whole weird situation, he just wouldn't smile at all. He really makes it a point that he is not happy to attend to us. We spent more than $200 there just because that's our last destination before we headed to the airport. We didn't want to buy souvenirs from the airport because usually they were more expensive. But guess what? They sold us the maple leaf cookies for $11.99 per box, and the airport sold 2 boxes for only $15. Such a rip-off. I didn't compare the prices of all the maple syrup that we bought from them. Holy photo ops around every turn! Honestly, I would recommend going here just for the millions of pictures you can get with giant cheesy Canadian items. I literally took a picture with every of these items for a grand total of 24 unique pictures. This gift shop is great to stop at on your way out of Niagara Falls as it's not near the rest of the touristy stuff and has ample parking. They have a nice little cafe you can grab food at & relax, as well as a chocolate shop "Chocolate World", and glass blowing (watch it being made) - fun! Just about every Niagara Falls publication has a 20% of all purchases coupon so be sure to use that. Beware of the many associated restrictions. They simply say 'restrictions apply' on the coupon but don't specify for what. I tried to use it on batteries but it was a no go.
