The front desk staff has always been very helpful and friendly. Continental breakfast is fine but nothing special. During my most recent trip, housekeeping left a little to be desired- the maid forgot to wash dishes in the sink the first day (I received conflicting information about whether I was supposed to do it or she was, but she apologized profusely), but when she did wash them, she didn't rinse them properly so the subsequent food tasted like soap. And pro tip: call them up to make your reservation instead of just booking online. If you ask if there are any specials or discounts, they'll often find a way to take a little off the price. (The last time I did this, I saved about $50 on a three night stay.) Why consider staying here, then? The jacuzzi rooms with lake view. I don't know what kind of jetted tubs these are, but they're extra deep and comfy. Bring your favorite bubble bath. I stock up in anticipation of a trip to Charlevoix. No need to stock up on sparkling white- there are plenty of wineries in the area. Note also: the Weathervane was designed by a whimsical local architect, Earl Young, who also designed the Mushroom Houses, which explains the odd shape of some rooms.

I would refund the stay if I gave a damn about consumer experience. At least 50% back the nights they slept without a locking door in the room? Buy them a meal for the gross pans in their kitchen?
