I understand that Edgewater is hit-or-miss depending on what condo you get; each condo is privately owned and decorated. We happened to get a great condo: room 116. Edgewater took care of us pretty well. We were supposed to stay at the nearby Lodge. The Lodge instructed us to go to Edgewater's lobby to retrieve our key, as we would arrive after the Lodge closed. Despite being assured by the attendant at the Lodge that she'd leave our key at Edgewater, we arrived - tired from a nearly five hour car trip - to find they did not deliver the key at Edgewater's lobby, thus leaving us without access to the room we paid for. The Edgewater attendant said she'd let us rent a condo for the weekend at $100 off the regular nightly rate for our trouble. This was a fortunate accident, as our condo was gorgeous - clean, well decorated and with a fully functioning and renovated kitchen. The countertops were faux-marble. The shower was large and luxurious. The bed was spacious and comfy. The view from the patio was incomparable; the sliding doors open and look out over the canal and automated bridge. My only point of contention is the cleaning staff. They left previous tenant's empty bottles laying around. This wouldn't be so bad if I hadn't inadvertently took a swig from a Diet Coke bottle that was hidden under the bed (I thought it was one of my Diet Cokes; I had one by the bed the previous night) only to discover it was an old Diet Coke spiked with rum. So, because the staff didn't do a thorough cleaning job, I drank someone else's old booze-infused Coke. That was unsavory to say the least.

Room 116: king bed, shelf storage, tv, door to hall, door to bathroom.

They don't want non members to golf there, they just want your money. We were golfing a 9 hole scramble with a group of 4 and a group of 3. The course staff told us to tee off the back 9, but be aware of some twosomes coming up behind us (obviously not a problem). They did not catch us until the 8th hole, and we let them pass. The course martial came out on a golf cart after the 8th hole and told us that we were "making this very difficult for him" and that "he will be having to deal with calls from members complaining about this". We competed 9 holes in 2 hours so by no means were we going slow. We get back to the clubhouse and the golf manager came out to tell us that we are not welcome back. They want one time golf fees from non members, but do not want us to actually golf there. The reality is they can't stay open if they don't keep it open to non members, but will complain about them instead the entire time they are golfing. We won't be back. If you are looking for a good place to golf, I recommend going to Crooked Tree, or another Boyne owned course. The courses are better and the staff is much friendlier.
