So. My Review of LMS…read more I'm Now Attending DRHS, But I figured I would leave a quick post for some of the newbie's :) 1. Teachers. I wont name any names, however The Science Department, and the Math Department have some issues. 8th Grade Intro to Physical Science. Worst Teacher Ever. I had so many problems and The counselors couldn't help me out. Academically Speaking, She prepared me for High School Well. I am well Above my Class, With the Ability to Use and Recognize Chemistry Level material. The Math Department was OK. I felt "Blown Off" By some of the teachers, but again, I was prepared well for High School. The Administration was always extremely courteous, and helped me solve many of my problems that I faced while Attending. Counselors worked with me, and I enjoyed my Enrollment here. Library: Extremely Clean, Neat, and Nice place to relax! The Campus is outdoors, and if its hot, the Library is the Only escape! Nice Media Tech, and Nice Selection! Security: Extremely Friendly! Always felt Safe and Secure, and Security was NEVER an issue. Cafeteria: The cafeteria is Indoor, But is surrounded with chain link openings. There is No A/C. ***Note My remark about the library*** Gymnasium: Could receive some TLC. Needs A/C. Gets Really hot, and they have really big fans that they use, that dont really do anything. Features Basketball Courts, Volleyball Courts, and is also Really good for DodgeBall :) Portables: Typical. Athletic Fields: Football, Soccer, Baseball, Softball, Track. Thats About it. Track is dirt, and Gets muddy when wet, but belongs to Diamond Bar, not PUSD. Parking: READ THE WEBSITE! It clearly states that it is extremely busy. However i would recommend walking to nearby business and getting a ride there. Locker Rooms: Typical, Large lockers. Recent Upgrade :) Restrooms: located in the Gym, Upstairs, Downstairs, and in the Portables. Normally Clean! Thats My Review! Hope you Enjoyed It :)

My son started kindergarten in August 2025. By the second week, we began receiving reports about…read morebehavioral issues. However, the accounts he shared with us often differed from what his teacher reported, and at times the teacher referred to him as a liar. We were also told that he was hitting and kicking other children--behaviors we had never seen at home. In some instances, when we spoke with other children who were present, they said those incidents did not happen as described. This led us to feel concerned that he may have been unfairly treated or singled out. As he was the only Black child in his class, we couldn't ignore the possibility of discrimination. We reached out to the school by email, including his teacher, the principal, and the district superintendent. Unfortunately, we never received a response, even as of April 2026. Initially, we believed the issue might be limited to the teacher, but the lack of response from school leadership raised further concerns. In October 2025, we made the decision to transfer him to a different school. Since then, he has been doing very well and has not received any negative behavioral reports.

The staff and teachers here are all truly exceptional. Every teacher and team member is dedicated, caring, and deeply invested in the success and well-being of each student. You can feel the sense of community the moment you step foot into the school. What has been especially impressive is the leadership of the current principal, Dr. Elizabeth Chang!! Her vision, commitment, and strong leadership skills have brought such positive energy and meaningful change to the school. The school culture, communication, and overall environment are all noticeably outstanding, and it's clear that the school is continuing to evolve in many amazing ways! Castle Rock Elementary is more than just a school. Wholeheartedly, it's a supportive, inspiring place where students can grow, learn, and thrive. I feel incredibly grateful that my children are able to experience the same strong, nurturing environment that I did so many decades ago. I highly recommend Castle Rock to any family looking for a school that carries such high academic standards and a school that truly cares about the students!!

The more time I have spent at my current daycare, I realize how sad I feel when I reflect back on when he was going here. This daycare is not nearly as warm as the daycare where my son spent his last 2 years. I remember when we first dropped off my son at this daycare, he was so scared and would cry a lot from the anxiety of leaving his parents. One of the suggestions that Ms. Toni said was not to carry him into the daycare and let him walk in. I'm not sure if this advise was to maybe make him less scared, but when I think back on that advise and how small my son was back then, it really makes me mad to even think that I took that advise as helpful. At 2 years old, a parent should definitely not feel like they can't carry their scared son into their first daycare. I also remember Ms. Toni commented that my son was constantly wanting to sit on Ms. Kat's lap and that she couldn't have him do that so often. When I see the kids in my current daycare, kids are on the laps of the teachers all the time and all day, especially if they need some comfort since they are showing anxiety being away from their parents. This school was so callous compared to the school that my son is currently at and I remember how scared he always felt when going there, which makes me sad and the reason why I'm writing a 2nd review. I also mentioned in an earlier review that I hated dropping off my son in the morning due to one of the teachers (Ms. Wafaa). She was always so rude to me, which made me worry about my son having to spend the morning with her. I hope she's no longer there, but if she is, she really needs to improve her demeanor. It's always hard to know how bad someplace is until you leave and go someplace else, so I'm glad we only stayed here for one year.

When COVID-19 came around, his preschool moved to online and then eventually outdoor learning. This model did not work well for him because of his age and because it was hot outside. We got a tour of the Early Learning Center from Miss Georgette and we decided to enroll him. He did two years of pre-school and then we decided to enroll him in the elementary school. He is now in 2nd grade and we couldn't be happier. We had a great experience with Mrs. Hobbs, Mrs. Stade and now Miss Siria. The school has some great activities and a wonderful music and PE program. Our son gets piano lessons from Mr. McCombs and he is doing so well! They also host a Fall Festival and other amazing holiday programs. His classroom has such a wonderful bond and it is great to see. The kids all love and respect one another and the school feels like family to us. Our son is excelling with straight As and is reading at a 4th grade level and is only 8 years old. Their tuition rates are very competitive compared to other private schools and you can even get a 20% discount if you attend at least 20 services during the school year. I highly recommend this school for both the Early Childhood Center and the Elementary/Middle School.

Also if you dont know what that means, it translates to "feeling/spirit of place"). All of the teachers are highly trained and able to do their job well. I am currently in the Design Based Learning core, and it really helps you exercise your brain and they are very strict about not settling for "good enough" for the landforms. Every one of the projects have a criteria that has to be followed. Mr. Lew and Mrs. Robertson are great at getting the 6th graders into the hang of DBL. I am not sure about any of the traditional or tech teachers (the teachers from other cores). Mrs. Hildebrandt and Mrs. Najera are the most lenient out of all the DBL teachers, and they are also great club advisors for Dance Crew and Musical. And then the 8th grade DBL teachers. Mrs. Haro and Mr. Garcia are very good teachers as well. Mrs. Haro is a great science teacher. She has the ability to get the information she is teaching to get inside your head, specifically from the metric system song. Mr. Garcia is the strictest teacher out of all Chaparral. He is completely honest with his constructive feedback. But that is a good thing because he forces you to do well until all of the criteria is met. Chaparral also has a wide variety of electives from DVP (Digital Video Production) to Orchestra. I never had DVP, but I am in orchestra as a viola player, and Mr. Rochford is also a great teacher. He makes the all of the sections of the orchestra to play well. The only issue with him is that he gets angry at the orchestra a lot, but that is just because a few of us don't listen to the group, and therefore not playing together. The clubs that are at Chaparral are also plentiful. I am sure that there will always be something of interest for you, whether it is anime all the way to Christianity. They have it all. And then there are the types of groups at Chaparral. The jocks, who get into almost every school athletic sport they try out for. The people who are just friends. The people who are alone too much. The people who talk about anime too much. And the cubers, the people who cannot go one second without holding any type of speed cube (most of these people are also weebs) Overall, I would just like to say that Chaparral is a really good junior high school in Diamond Bar because of its teachers, choices of electives, and the diversity of interests the students have on certain topics. P.S. What is up with the business photos?
