Beautifully rustic convenience store, with a deli that has reasonable food and prices. With a new owner and new refreshed products.

This store I am finally willing to come into again. It's clean, FRIENDLY staff and the new owners are great and local! They adjusted pricing so everything is affordable now. 10/10 recommend! First of all they never give a refund, I got a couple of copper sink parts only to find they wouldn't work, I went back to return them in less than 20 minutes, was told they can't do any refunds, same girl that sold em to me, told me I'd have to come back in the morning and talk to the manager. Pretty sure there's new owners, prices on everything went up, as usual, I went to dry 3 loads of laundry and because the price had gone up to $3.75 from $2.50 I didn't have enough quarters, of course no bill changer and they had no quarters to spare inside the store, unfortunately I had already started one load but couldn't do the other 2, I didn't feel like spending an hour waiting for one load to dry so I unloaded it all and went to Everson. Should have known when I went in and saw that most of the machines were out of order plus I had to go into the store to get them to come out and unlock the door. Not a good experience, definitely not anywhere near the same as when Bethany owned it. I don't believe that the new owners are even from this country and the first thing they do is raise the prices by $2 on whatever they think they can get away with. I hope the Crossroads and Grahams never sell out to people who aren't a part of the community. read more

I headed out for an afternoon drive up Route 542 - the Mount Baker Hwy - up into the mountains. Unfortunately I got started later than intended and decided to head back towards Bellingham, being that I was unfamiliar with the area and driving alone - did not want to attempt to navigate through the mountains after dark. I stopped in Maple Falls, WA for a snack - and found Maple Fuels - an outpost of civilization! It's a gas station, deli, coffee shop, convenience store, laundromat, and liquor store - and probably a few other things as well. I got a hot dog with mustard and sat out in the parking lot and wolfed it down. There is no cell service out this way - at least there was not on AT&T. I asked the proprietor of the shop about this - he indicated that his cell service does not work out here and they use a land line. Someone other than AT&T must have some cell coverage out there though - I did see someone talking on their cell phone. Maple Fuels has a free WiFi network - so you can get connected on e-mails and social media. I used the WiFi to check in on Yelp and Foursquare. Good place for a stop! read more

this place has the worst service I have ever come across. Just because it's one of the last places to buy a few essentials or get gas on the way to Mount Baker. They think they can gouge people and being rude while they're at it. my grandson ran out of gas about 500 feet from the pumps and he went inside to see what a gas can would cost because he didn't have one. They wanted to charge him $34 for a 1 gallon plastic jug. $54 for a 5 gallon plastic container. Where on earth did they purchase these from Dan to expect a customer to pay that much money and they run out of gas is absurd. Other items in the store were also 10 times the price of anywhere else. I would encourage anyone and everyone not to stop they're not to buy gas they're not to purchase anything from these thieves. I will never be a customer at this place ever again, and I will never set foot even on this property and I suggest you do the same! THEIVES!!!! read more

I have never been able to get propane tanks filled there. There "aren't enough people working" or "sorry, I'm not certified" or, today "sorry, our tank is leaking. Won't waste my time any more. read more

I used to stop in here whenever I came up to ski or go camping. Never again will I step one foot on their property, let alone go into this store. Came up to ski in mid to late February and the store smelled like rotten food and sewage. But I figured, maybe it's just something they're waiting for a repair person to fix. So, I came back in here the second week in April hoping for a better experience. NOPE... the smell wasn't as bad which is good, but it was still there. The tall baldish (I say baldish because he had a hat on, that he briefly lifted to wipe a profuse amount of sweat from his forehead) man that seemed to be a manager or something was drinking on the job! He smelled strongly of alcohol and if my perception was accurate, he was a bit high on something as well. The store is stocked, but not with the things people actually want. The produce was very sad looking and the counter area was a messy cluster of what looked like trash. Just sad how the new owner just doesn't seem to care about the community he is supposed to be serving, let alone his other employees who have to work with someone who is drunk/high. I would also say to everyone in the Maple Falls community, don't shop there, shop at Crossroads! Friendly people, fresh produce and way cleaner/sanitary!!! read more

A gas station, convenience store, cafe all in one. Has a small seating area to eat in the back and offers free WiFi. The coffee is really good, the breakfast sandwich of Everything bagel, egg, bacon, cheddar is one of the best I've ever had. read more

The new owners have killed the spirit of this once awesome store. At one point, this was a warm, inviting place where people would come in, sit, enjoy their coffee, relax, and eat. But now the other half of this location looks dead in the water, it's stagnant and dark, uninviting. With overly paranoid owners who think everyone is going to steal from them, it has sucked the life out of the deli portion of this once booming place. Yes, it has a large array of grocery items, but so does the store across the street and the vibe is totally different, not to mention they have way more options for dietary issues and they support local businesses. I wish I could give more stars based on customer service, but all I feel when I go in there now is get in and out as fast as possible, and on the rare occasion that I have to go in, I have no desire to see what else is available. read more

this used to be an awesome place to get coffee and connect with others doing the same. ive been going to maple fuels since bethany was the owner and i have to say it has gone downhill. the staff (owners?) are rude and downright mean. not to mention the laundry has only 3 working machines and hasnt been swept in who knows how long. i get it closes at 7 but the clock on the wall doesnt work either. after my last encounter with a female staff i will no longer be returning. crossroads across the street has a great selection and movies. and great customer service. my review is drive on by this place. sad but true read more

On this year's annual Christmas trip to Snow Line, I stopped in at Maple Fuels store as I'd forgotten to pick up eggnog in Bellingham. True story. What a joyous surprise it was to find that this store pretty much stocks everything you could possibly need for a wondrous mountain excursion. The store is really well stocked and you can find pretty much anything that you forgot to pick up in Bellingham. Essentials like eggnog, cheese, meat sticks, cigars, and whisky. We LOVE Maple Fuels! They sell everything...literally! From gas, forest passes, basic groceries, liquor, candy, hardware items, hygiene items, souvenirs, and cleaning products to ice cream, bakery items and coffee...this place has it all. The ice cream is an annual treat for our kids while visiting Maple Falls...my favorite is the lemon meringue flavor. YUM! They have a fantastic selection of sandwiches, though their service is VERY slow...so don't order if you are short on time as there is only one person behind the deli counter and can take a LONG time. If you have the time, then the beef dip is AMAZING! They have free wifi, a small eating area, and nice workers. read more

The ice cream is great and locally sourced but the hygienic practices of the person serving are not good. Eventually I started to find hair(s) in it after a few visits when the owners fired the people who normally handled it. I think the health department needs to give this place a very thorough look over. If you want great coffee skip this place and go to Glacier. They have been cutting corners on the coffee lately since I moved here, sour milk, improperly fixed coffee beverages etc. I like the man (one of the owners) who operates the register, he seems like a very kind person and it really bothers me to leave such a negative review but I can't not mention these problems. Basic conveniences can be found there: Camping goods, Veggies, Fruit, Wi-Fi for your social media binge. This is your last fuel stop before you hit Mt baker or any of the other back country roads in the area near glacier. So gas up now or regret it later. read more

This convenience store/gas station is a good place to fuel up and get some snacks or drinks. In the store they handy items for travelers, i.e. campfire wood, knives, food, etc. If you are planning to stab something and cook it over a campfire, Maple Falls Shell has everything you need. read more

Probably the nicest gas station/convenience store I've ever seen. Place has a clock tower! Are you kidding me? Maple Fuels Wash-a-ton is the perfect place to gas up before heading to Mt. Baker, or pick up pretty much everything you need before a weekend in the mountains. I had a sandwich from their deli and enjoyed a coffee while using their free wifi. On the retail side they sell everything from beer and wine to hardware. Oh and they have a liquor store in back. And a laundromat. What next, a game room? (Please, that would be awesome.) read more

Well we used to regularly give this place our business. We live close by and it was nice and convenient. We won't be coming back after today. My husband went in to see if they had anything to hang Christmas lights with and the lady behind the counter was as rude as can be. Wasn't interested in helping him find what he was looking for and when he did finally go to make a purchase the total came to $2.06. He had his debit card but thinking since he had two dollars in his wallet and there was 6 pennies in the take a penny cup he would just use that instead of having to use his card for such a small purchase. Well she got a huge attitude over SIX CENTS. It's the holidays! Maybe they should put somebody who can manage to be friendly to customers behind the counter. This is a small town and I feel like we should all be getting along. Sorry if you had a bad morning don't spread your negativity to every one else! SIX CENTS. seriously. Shameful. This place has changed quite a bit in the last few years. New owners, it seems like they are not stocking items that used to be very useful for small town folks like the hardware section, which is too bad. It also seems like the items they are focusing on are like city bodega style, knives, smoking parafinalia and what not. I am a local and watched this store be build from the ground up by a local who worked very hard to build this business with great item convenience to us locals. Now the store has new owners and I do my very best to not have to go there and support them. I know many people that left there job there due to poor management and mistreatment. Every time I have been in there they are rude and can't understand what I am looking for, I have called to see if they have something and been hung up on because they don't know what I am talking about. As they say - "I sorry, I don't understand" and hang up on you, or just say "I Sorry" and hang up, they don't try or attempt to help you or figure out what you are trying to say. They have raised there prices quite a bit on many items. What use to be a $1.69 can of soup is now $2.79 a can or more. It is a shame because this was such a great store that has great food, convenience and people there and it sold to very rude/poor management people. read more
