At half sweet, there's a bit of harshness from the fructose but it works in unison with the tea and doesn't hide any of the smoky tea aromas. The whole milk doesn't add any milky flavor either. It's a pretty standard drink but very good for the area. The boba is smooth and sweet, clearly having been marinated well. They aren't spherical and instead kind of lumpy but the texture and flavor are good. The texture exhibits a very pleasant bouncy chewiness. The stir-fries were outstanding--the chicken packed a punch with spice and that wonderful numbing kick from Sichuan peppercorns, and the eggplant was fried to perfection with crispy edges, just like a dish I loved growing up in China.
