a variety of desserts

I'm extremely disappointed,I was lied too. I don't touch sugar, honey, dextrose, high fructose and so on. I was truly excited to see they had a sugar free dessert. I don't eat dairy or wheat but I bought it because it was sugar free. I asked them what artificial sweetener do you use? They told me they use HONEY. THE BODY PROCESSES SUGAR LIKE HONEY . I DIDN'T TOUCH SUGAR FOR MONTHS AND NOW THIS... PLEASE DO RESEARCH ON WHAT SUGARS ARE. THANKS ALOT.

I've been coming to this bakery for as long as I can remember! Growing up beside Metrotown as a kid, I used to come to the mall all the time with my family and I remember always wanting to get a treat from this bakery (AKA those chocolate chip cookies that were probably as big as my face back then). Nowadays, I don't really get their cookies anymore, but I love their other food! In particular, I love their sandwiches and wraps. The chicken wrap is always tasty and satisfying, though the sandwich that's stolen my heart is the Turkey on Olive Bread. The turkey is moist and goes so well with the creaminess of the mayo and avocado in the sandwich, while the lettuce and tomato keep it light and refreshing. Finally, the olives in the bread add that final kick of umami to take the flavour up to another level! The Blackforest Ham sandwich and Salmon on Baguette are also delicious. As for dessert, I love their cakes and other pastries. Their pastries are never too sweet or heavy, and have the perfect level of richness. My favourites would have to be the tiramisu, original cheesecake, pear torte, apple torte, pumpkin cheesecake, and apple cinnamon bun! Metrotown is huge, but make sure you stop by this corner of the mall to get some of the best desserts and sandwiches in the whole place!

Nice sandwiches, try the turkey on olive bread. Decent iced mocha. Small seating area and great customer service. The staff was lovely. A much nicer option than the food court directly above.

Really good cakes, sandwiches, and drinks. Good place to stop by in the mall for a small snack. Their truffle cake, mango mousse cake and mocha are all very good.

Cheese bun and coffee

There is a pleasant little bakery that does croissants and cheese buns and muffins. I wouldn't say it is an old European type bakery but it gives off the appearance of being one. Grab a coffee and some pastries or take home a cake. When it's busy the staff are bustling about. Taking orders and running the cashier. You can hear the bread slicer working overtime. I did notice a few Yelp stickers. Do people on yelp like it here? I'm guessing yes. Wondering which of my Yelper colleagues dropped them off to post. There is a seating area for customers in the hallway so you can sit and enjoy your coffee. All the while the hustle and bustle of the food court above churns away. Btw the coffee is pretty good . Typos free of charge as it was thumbed up on my ole iPhone

Really delicious and reasonably priced cheesecake.

Located on the ground level of Metrotown, next to the Bay, and across from the pet store. Friendly service from the get-go taking down my phone order for a 6" cheesecake. Worked out to be $17.xx - what a bargain! An 8" cheesecake was $27.xx. My memory fails me on the cost of the bigger size. A slice in the display counter was $2.99. Overall very reasonably priced. I went with the original flavour. It was fluffy, creamy, and decadent. Easily one of the more memorable cheesecakes I've had. My parents enjoyed it as well, and they're hard to please with Western-style desserts. That says something, right? EDIT: I thoroughly enjoyed my Salmon Sandwich. Soup was average. Unfortunately, sandwiches are ready-made and cannot be heated up. I don't like cold sandwiches, but the flavours and bread made up for it. I'll probably try a deli meat sandwich of some sort next time - they look huge! There is a little reserved eating area in the mall sidewalk. Also, they did away with their credit card machine recently. CASH AND DEBIT ONLY.

Lamb sandwich

I had the lamb sandwich and the fresh fruit torte. Both were pretty good. The sandwich was a bit salty but the lamb does shine through and the mustard was a perfect touch. I think it would have been even better with it as a panini. I loved everything about the fruit torte aside from the shell which was much too sweet for my liking. The custard had a hint of mango which was delicious and the glaze was a bit thick but that's how I prefer it anyways.

This is a great little bakery hidden in the mall. Good place to grab some bake goods after shopping and they have a variety of breads, cookies, and cheese cakes. Apparently, they make pretty good sandwiches too. There are also seats and tables outside the bakery to sit down for a quick bite. I come here for their croissants; apple, chocolate, almonds, and plain ones too. Great selection of cheese cakes as well.

Chocolate & raspberry muffin (1.85)

Metrotown never ceases to surprise me. For the longest time, I thought that the only bakeries in the mall were Saint Germain's and Maxim's, but low and behold! There's Manzano right under my nose (well beneath the food court more specifically). They seem to have a great assortment of breads and cakes, though what caught my attention today was the Chocolate & Raspberry Muffin. Was really filling and tasty...will definitely return to sample their scones and that intriguing looking Apple Croissant.

Just keep walking

We entered and joined the line, very earthy ambience with plenty of tables though very busy and full. Woodsy, and very clean. Sounds of all the patrons enjoying themselves with banter or working on their laptop whilst enjoying some beverage or food. I ordered the chocolate slice cake, wifey got a berry croissant and we got a tiramisu tart and tiramisu box to go. I ordered a house coffee just for something to drink with the cake and wifey also got a mocha. The cake was very good, not super sweet(for regular person) I'm diabetic so this was probably a bit much for me but I wanted to try. The butter cream in between each layer of chocolate sponge cake was smooth. The chocolate ganache was shiny and soft. I personally like more cake in general but this is a solid cake if you like butter cream and chocolate!. Wifeys croissant was full of cream on top and in the middle. Very soft and good for whipped cream lovers. The berries were large and sweet. Baked goods on terms from the ones we partook in were very good. Definitely understand why this is a popular place and always busy. Check it out!

This cafe is a good spot to catch up with friends over coffee and pastries that is transit-friendly. This time I came for brunch with my fiancé and we shared the fried chicken platter, and ordered the Spanish latte and iced mocha as our drinks. The food and drinks were good but for the price point, I wouldn't come back for brunch. I feel like this cafe is definitely overhyped and pricey compared to other local spots.

The pastries are delicious and crafted so beautifully. I came here for hot chocolate festival and the flavours were spot on. A tad sweet but it's hot chocolate. I also tried their limited time sticky rice croissant which had all the umami flavours one could want! Texture of the croissant was crunchy, butter and full of flavour. Sadly, the sticky rice texture mixed with croissant was not the best. The service here is great. Staff are friendly. The only downside to this store is the way their line up system works. They have 2 store areas, connected by the till. It's a bit hard to pass through when there are people waiting in line to pay, waiting on line to order, etc. Just a bit of awkward spacing

So glad i finally decided to. Cozy cute cafe where you can study and bring your labtop/ introvert friendly or quick catchup with the girls / cute coffee date etc ... The cafe is currently participating in the hot chocolate festival too but i ordered a matcha latte along with a cruffin apple cheesecake and ooo it was so delicious and bouncy airy. The center had fresh bits of apple and there was a creamy cream cheese filling and you get this texture that's a combo of crossiant and muffin .. if you love apple or even caramel etc i think it would really suit your pallette. I will order some pastries to go next time when i have more time. Staff is super friendly and patient. They handled the loads of questions i had. Super clean place too. Free parking upfront and there's parking downstairs too.

The menu has shrunk considerably and their business days/hours are also a lot less than what it was previously. The drinks were not as tasty as they used to be. My Blue Rose drink was the best of the bunch and I would say even that was just OK. I enjoyed the Lychee jelly in my drink. That was probably the best part of the drink. The liquid part was kinda "meh" for me. I think the best thing we ordered was the matcha soft serve ice cream. On the flip side, there was a guy playing piano there and they were taking requests. I suggested Demon Slayer and the guy played the famous "Gurenge" song by Lisa from season one of Demon Slayer. That was kinda cool. He was a very good pianist. Great way to liven the atmosphere. Also, there was a guy who came around and gave us all tiny paper cranes. It's nothing much, but still always nice to be gifted with anything at all. Business must be hard for them. It would sure be nice to see them return to how they used to be, with a bigger menu, tastier drinks and more days/hours again. We love this place for the manga/ anime vibes that it exudes, and love the Matcha soft serve ice cream they sell here. Really wanna give this place a higher rating but the drinks were really not up to par this time, and as much as we love the Matcha ice cream, it is not by itself enough to warrant giving out a higher rating. If they could just improve the quality of their drinks again...then even if they menu remains limited, at least if everything they serve is of good quality...that would be enough to merit a higher rating.

My cousin recently had Cory from HEY! CAKE THIS! Make a cake for her and below is what she said:…read more YEY!!! I found my forever cake designer and maker for all my family celebrations! I wasn't going to write any reviews because I just don't want to spend time doing it. But when I showed pictures of the cake Cory created for my daughter to my family and friends, I knew I had to write one. I was also reminded by my cousin and sisters about that rip off cake I received last year for my son. The cake we all called the Photocopy cake ( see review for Yummy Yonnie Cakes) But first, let me tell you about CORY'S cakes from HEY CAKE THIS! Cory does not limit the style, colour, theme, flavour, filling or size of the cake. He gives his clients free range. But keep in mind, price will obviously go up the more elaborate your imagination. If you can imagine it. He will create it! I reached out to Cory to get an idea of how much a Poppy cake would be and I even sent a picture I found online to him for reference. I told him to put many flowers and make the cake pink. I wanted strawberry filling, with fresh strawberries and a vanilla cake. Boy did he deliver! The cake I received exceeded my expectations. Everything on that cake was fondant. He cut out all the flowers, the letterings, the number, AND the star of the cake.... POPPY! He made a 2D Poppy! Nothing on that cake was a photocopy image stuck onto sugar paper. Look carefully at Poppy. Her dress, the eyes and mouth. So much details. Cory handprinted some of the details on her too. I commented on his Poppy and how I appreciated him not doing a photocopy image. He told me if the image is not complex he will do all it all freehand. I only gave I'm a week and a half for this cake too! Due to the pandemic, Cory offered free delivery. He wanted to make sure his cake was in the best condition for his clients. Cory is also very considerate. When he arrived, he actually took out a fold up table to place his cake on. He did not want to put the cake on the floor or ground where it could pick up germs. After he put it on the table, he stepped back (social distancing) so that I could take it. The box the cake came in was GOLD with a pink ribbon to complete the look. Did you know he actually MAKES all his boxes the cakes go into? No cheap see through cellophane. But a nice gold colour cardstock box. This is better because if the cake was to be a surprise , the box will definitely keep the cake hidden. My kids recycled the box and make gold cut out starts and crowns for their dolls. Cory is definitely a master cake creator. He will not disappoint. The communication between him and I for the cake was awesome. Before he went ahead with anything he was unsure of, he reached out to me. He wanted to make sure his suggestions was something I would also like. Vancouver is fortunate to have their own 'Duff Goldman'. I regret not having found him sooner to make my cakes. The Photocopy cake was an expensive lesson. Don't go to a place that limits you or brush your feedback off. GO TO CORY from HEY CAKE THIS! You won't be disappointed! I look forward to my two other cakes in the next few weeks! I will post it here as well for everyone to see. His work speaks for itself. All his reviews are excellent. Nothing less than 5 stars. I wish I can give him 10 stars! Cory's custom cakes ARE worth the splurge 1-2 or even 3 times a year! Thank you Cory!
