I called 5 Painters,…read more2 didn't even show up and the other 2 I had to chase for a proposal which was 3x that of Mike's. Why did I hire mike? Because he LOVES to paint.. He says it is "therapeutic". Therapeutic ?!?!? I find when you hire people who love what they do, you are likely to have good results. So mike gets on site "ding" 8am with a text - "i am here in the dog run, just FYI, if your going to let the dogs out". Painting begins.. He doesn't ring the doorbell, call me open the phone. He knows I have dogs, kids.. The following day, mike calls me with bad news "Sean, I am checking the wood as I go along, and there's some rot, what do you want to do"? I ask him can he fix it, and he's like "yeah". So for a marginal (AND I MEAN marginal) price he goes around replacing all the TRIM that is rotted, and the cost is really nominal.. I am expecting thousands of dollars, and he's like its just a few places. He then calls me and tells me that there is more rot, and called a roofer friend on his own, and tells me the "ROOF was installed improperly, and because of that there's rot into the sub wall". He then refers me to not 1, but 3 reputable companies that can repair the rot. They actually come out?!!?!?! He then calls his roofer buddy to check my roof. We then learn that my brand new roof was not installed to code, and I was charged for items that were not actually installed. I am now in the process of getting that repaired through the roof vendor who was attempting to defraud me. I would have never known otherwise. He could have, and most likely others would have just painted over it! Mike takes picture of all the damage on his own time, because "that's not right"...So.. Mike continues to do this work, and its the best painting I have seen in my life. Repairs the wood with bondo in some places where the rot is not bad.. So I ask him "hey my pool stairs are broken, how much to fix/bondo that"? He's like "I got the bondo out, no problem man"... Doesn't charge me and is out there for an hour (1 hour of his time) Bondo/sanding my pool stair, which look AWESOME. Then there are the little things: Very tidy, ladders are stacked, cleans up, no mess. We also had painted the deck and the "brown" was not "brown". So we had him change the color, and he's like no problem. I ask him how much, and he says, just pay me for the materials, we have to do a second coat anyways.! Finally, Walking down my deck steps they feel more firm - WHY? Because he literally drove new screws to secure the wood. SERIOUSLY!!! If you need painting done, you should call him! Because we have a laundry list of items were gonna get done! To the other reviewee on here that gave him a negative review, I suggest you stop taking your hallucinogenic drugs!

But I still needed it fixed. I called AMB for a REPAIR estimate. What we received instead were two NEW roof estimates. One for $79,455 and the second one for $66,755. This was after they took a core sample. Do your research when working on your roof. We absolutely did not need a new roof. We knew that and every other company that came out, agreed. I was not going to post a review on this ridiculous encounter until the company we actually hired to repair and reseal the roof came across the core sample. They informed us that it was not put back properly and was actually stuck back in with caulk and the caulk used doesn't even adhere to roofing materials. Had this not been found and repaired properly, we could have had serious roof and interior damage. Unbelievable. This whole experience is, at the minimum, really bad business practices. At the most, it borders on fraud and negligence. Buyer beware. Update: I obviously ruffled some feathers. lol. I initially had written a six page review, listing every single detail but decided against posting that. Nobody is interested in reading a novel. Bottom line is we called for a repair. We do not need a new roof. We needed repairs and a reseal. We discussed a repair. AMB pushed for a full, new roof quote as the "repair quote would be 50% of what a new roof would cost". My husband said fine, but that he was really only interested in a repair. Btw, I am only discussing here the house and attached garage. The detached garage is an entirely separate issue. My husband is sitting here flabbergasted at this company's response to the core sample and how it was left. Because what was said here is not what he was told on site. I stand by my review and every word. The sales person saw a big house on 12 acres and assumed deep pockets and a huge sale. Big mistake
