I don't understand some of the negative reviews. Its been a while since I did yoga, about 20 years. This place is very sociable and treat newcomers like we've been there for years. I never feel uncomfortable and I do feel welcomed and the instructors are all wonderful. They each have their way of doing things, which keeps it from getting boring. As far as booking classes I think its a wonderful idea so not too many can show up and you're literally sitting on a wall because there isn't any floor space available. If you want to cancel do it 3 hours before the class. Its simple! You really get good advice and the place is so clean and always smells so good too. I've taken 2 classes this past Sunday and then on Tuesday both times it's unfortunate but I became sick(vomiting) after each class... I was enjoying them till reacting the way I did, I honestly can't bring myself to go thru this again... I know the warmth in the room is a contributing factor for me; I just don't respond well with the warmth. It seems we may be at an impass... because any other classes will be the same scenario. Can I maybe apply what's left of the gift card to purchasing merchandise so the gift card isn't a total loss?! I was looking forward to getting back into yoga but I can't continue with the sickness each time. Sorry for all this... The room temperature of the classes you attended was 75°, living in the northeast, I wouldn't think it's the room temperature, however exertion in a new physical activity can make us feel ill until we become acclimated to it. One of the perks of your trial membership is the two free buddy passes valued at $17 each. If we change your trial membership it would revoke the buddy passes perks too. The fee for the classes that both you and your husband participated it would be $56.00 and exceeds the value of your $45.00 gift card. I understand not wanting to continue, given the previous result. However your trial membership is active for one month. Perhaps try more classes and see how you feel and progress with more practice? Things to know: Don't eat up to 3 hrs before practice Drink plenty of water the day before practice When beginning a new practice take Childs pose as often as needed. read more

Mantra Yoga studio in Danvers MA is a wonderful yoga community on the North Shore. The memberships are extremely reasonable. You don't need to be a member to attend. They offer walk-ins and have multiple discounted class cards. I became a Platinum member in November '19 and I'm very satisfied with the investment I've made in myself. This studio makes me feel part of a collective whole and its that positive outlook that keeps me coming back. The teachers at Mantra are kind, work with your medical conditions, motivate you, and know everyone by name. I've made new friends here too because the environment is so encouraging and interesting. There is plenty of free parking on the street or at an adjacent lot. (There is even a boutique food market next door with an excellent salad bar I frequent . . .to keep the wellness vibe going post-class.) I also love the variety of class offerings. If you want to take a peek, check out the bi-monthly Friday night 2-hour workshops. They'll give you some great insight into the studio's community and ethos. Mantra Yoga studio has also helped improve my meditation practice. The owner, Marlena, has a psalm-like ability to let words float through your mind. I have taken yoga classes for over 20 years, and am rarely impressed. Tonight I was pleasantly surprised when I tried Kirstie's class here at Mantra. 6pm Tuesdays! Kirstie was wonderful! I learned some new things, corrected a few things that I was surprised nobody had ever corrected in my form before. And I was challenged in a way I haven't been in a long time! It was a very grounding, balanced experience! What a great workout, too! I usually like to do a little meditation before any yoga practice, and was again, pleasantly surprised that she started the class with a little meditation and breath work. She is so knowledgeable and attentive as well! To sum it up, I left in full yoga bliss!!! One more thing and I'll stop going on and on, is that her music choices were perfect!! What ever you do don't purchase an unlimited package! Initially I went frequently because walk in. Then that changed to online booking with advanced several hours in advanced booking. Need to cancel 3 hours in advance otherwise $15 charge. So, basically $110 month + rack up charges from not being able to cancel. I had a 6 month contract, but then they continued to AUTOPAY after contract was over, very unfair. Shady business practices! My original contract was March & was viewed as such in app the other day. Now I look & newer one in April. Strongly believe contracts are being tampered with & sending notifications to BBB! read more

Apparently, this studio does not need anymore business. Their customer service is absolutely terrible. I took one class at the studio, which was great and the instructor was awesome. They offered a two week special for new clients which is why I chose this yoga studio to begin with. They do not have a phone in the studio so without having anyone to talk to, I signed up for the class online. I did not see anything about the 2 wk special online, and the website would not let me sign up unless I paid for the class. I assumed I would just pay and then talk to someone when I got there. No one was able to help so I ended up having to deal with it all through email. The emails were unprofessional and they clearly don't care about keeping clients. It's too bad...I had two other friends that we're going to sign up as well...good thing there are plenty of other yoga studios that are more than happy to have our business! read more
