Fifteen minutes, a few hundred calories, and a quick Yelp search later, I found myself standing inside of their beautiful Gastown store. First, it's hard not to be smitten by the space itself. Wood, brick, and steel seem to be Gastown staples, and this space blends the materials beautifully. At the same time though, cascading wall plants and some strategically placed trees make the space feel cozy. Factor in the ridiculously comfortable sofa near the dressing rooms, and you just might find yourself inquiring about a sublet. As for the main event, the clothing, the styles are mostly classic (with some welcome twists), the fabrics look and feel expensive, and the cuts are on the slimmer side. You can find everything from t-shirts and chinos to formal suits and sneakers (and pretty much everything in between). And the best part - the prices are actually reasonable. I have to give much deserved kudos to the wonderful staff, who made my shopping experience enjoyable from start to finish. Their patience and assistance while I seemingly tried on everything in the store was greatly appreciated. One final tidbit, make sure to enroll in their rewards program, which gives you back 4% of your in-store purchase for next-time. The credit never expires, and is stored electronically in their computer system for your convenience.

Me being an old dude, I'm use to shopping at GAP where the staff are smiling and super friendly despite on the stupidity of my questions. In this store, I got a blank look when I asked for helped, as if like a regular dude like me don't have clothing questions. The staff was unsure on what products were in promotion which is fine, if I was in their place I wouldnt remember either. It wasn't all that bad, but I just got a negative vibe from the staff almost as if they were lifeless and annoyed. Essentially, Frank and Oak staff in this store really need to smile and greet customers as if they like being there. No attitudes despite on shitty the day is going. The atmosphere in the place felt very snotty which does not make a good shopping experience. Regardless, I will continue to shop here and continue to ask questions so beware staff I will test your patience. I like their products and their prices are fair. Good day to you all!

Base on what we were told, we headed promptly to the store. After 30 min of driving and finding parking, we made it to the store. To our annoyance, Rae at the store indicated to us we were misinformed and that he was unable to provide the price adjustments as agreed by this colleague. Even after showing my phone log and reiterating the conversation, he stood firm with his statement. We asked to speak to his manager, to which he indicated he was the only one there. My question is this event is for "Customer Appreciation". This experience alone does not make this customer appreciated at all. I'm was appalled your store did not honor what customer service representatives indicated resulting us wasting our time. I've since emailed them and am waiting to hear back as to whether or not they'll do the honourable thing and make this right ... Update: Since reaching out to their website and posting on Yelp, Lauren, the store's Shop Director contacted me to resolve the issue. I truly appreciate her doing that and it has regained my confidence in their store's customer service.

Not only did she remember me (i've bumped into her a few times at the shop, but not more then a handful) but she was still the incredibly energetic, totally genuine ball of sunshine that made me RUN home to pen that first review back in January. And so, as a tip of the hat to my top service ninja of the year, I thought it be best to share some new findings at Two of Hearts: 1. Karen has a jewellery line that she sells at the shop! Go buy it and support local crafters and an all around rad person! ...I don't remember the name, because I took a business card and had her write down the specifics on a few pieces. Such organization obviously means I will lose said card within 24 hours. I do however have a note that says: "Sounds like the muppets song Mahna Mahna." Because i'm an adult. So I will take that to the Twitterverse for further investigation. Stay tuned. 2. Hats!! If you are looking for the most fabulous fall hat, go check out the Andre felt hats from Montreal. I debated over mine last January and it is singlehandedly my second favourite purchase of the year (it's tough to compete with the Fiat...) They are an excellent price (under $100), made in Canada and just classic, beautiful pieces. But if you buy the red one in the window before, I will get mad at you. Bonus points: you can't even find this line online for a better price. Tip of the hat 2ofH. 3. Bags! I have beat the s%&t out of my bag over the year - every day, dual laptop wielding and it has survived. Definitely looking a bit worse for wear, but it's held up far better then I expected, considering the price point is so reasonable. Right now, they have super awesome colours like hot pink mailbags & bright red clutches. It's a rainbow money suck! 4. Still with the awesome people. Karen isn't an anomaly here. Honest to gosh, i've had nothing but the most fabulous service every time i've gone in. Everyone who works here is all sugar & spice. ...I still have yet to find any actual clothing that fits me properly here... but I don't care.
