Where before a breakfast was included each morning of your stay, you now are offered 15% off you breakfast, but more on that later. The dining area is a fraction its former charm, but still charming. The dinner menu is pretty good and both of our dinners each night of our stay there were excellent. For this reason I have given two stars. It would be impossible to say the same about breakfast. In one location, an 8AM breakfast opening was listed. Our Welcome Letter stated 830AM was the opening time. Neither time mattered, because on both mornings the Breakfast service wasn't even open. The entry to it was locked up like an after hours NYC Subway entrance. Saturday morning no human being could be found. We even went back at 10AM to see if it had opened yet, with no change. Sunday morning it was locked up, but there a woman behind the bar to give our key to as we checked out. On both mornings we had breakfast elsewhere. We stay at the hotel for special occasions, and this stay was no exception. Staying at the Charlotte Hotel and not having to leave it was always something we appreciated and looked forward to during the previous dozen or so times we had stayed there before. Jessica even made a special dinner plate for me to take up to the room for my traveling companion who had a wicked headache one morning. So appreciative of both of them. Speaking of dining, I loved the chef breakfasts that were prepared each morning. You received a menu on the table that specified the chef's selection that day. There was also a side table of fresh fruits, breads and juices to enjoy. You could then order a boxed lunch to be picked up by noon based on your selections from a separate menu listing. These meals were inclusive in your daily room charge. So convenient! Finally, they even had a "tea time" spread between 3-4pm, consisting of various teas and cookies, also complimentary. The hotel was completed in 1904 and has an old world feel to the entire inn. There is also a Guest House with several rooms just a short walk from the main house. Televisions are located in Room 12 and the Guest House only, as the establishment wants you to enjoy a relaxing stay where you can escape from life's hustle. The grounds of the inn are well maintained and beautifully cared for with paths between each building. The owner showed us where breakfast would be and even brought breakfast to our room one day. Breakfast was also wonderful every morning with juice, fruit, a sweet, and a main dish which was either sweet or savory depending on the day. Our breakfasts including a peach croissant casserole, and a hatch chili egg bake just to name a few. We regularly saw the owners around the grounds and they were always very friendly. We did not get to enjoy the pool but it looked lovely and well maintained. I have only two minor complaints which are more personal preference that actually complain. The room had four windows the were high on the wall which were not covered which woke my partner every morning. These should probably be either covered or the bed placement changed. The button for the big tub in the bathroom was very hard to push on and off. These are really minor things and do not distract from the overall wonderful experience we had. Of note there a ton on Mosquito's on the eastern shore and the islands. Make sure if you are traveling this way you bring bug spray. One last quick note, we got the soaps and lotion add one. The soaps and lotions were wonderful both made and to use. I would recommend this B and B to anyone who wants to enjoy Chincoteague and the eastern shore.

The bagel/ toaster barely toasted anything. Check out is at 11. We were granted late check out at 1130. The receptionist came around at 11:15 asking if we were leaving.. smh. Of course, we were running late than 11 so we asked for the late check out. That was pretty annoying. Cleaning kitchen supplies were right behind the counter for the breakfast food, smh. The pool is out front of the lobby and looks a hot mess right now. Its January but the pool has black looking filled water in it and the chairs seem to be all thrown about.
