From the exterior it could be mistaken for a simple sandwich shop, which if course it is as well. But the venue also includes a bistro serving all of its homemade loveliness. The deli has a wide varied from the local area and international sources alike. If your taking a wonder through the village is a quaint stop off & 1 minutes walk form the seafront. The bistro is open for breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea, serving full englishes, pastas, risottos and cakes for yumming up.

The second experience was a sit in Breakfast. Firstly they got my order wrong, so the food was scraped off and then plonked back on, except when it came back the order was still wrong. I decided just to get on with it but the eggs were too burnt so I quickly moved them to one side. Thirdly the toast wasn't there. Fourthly I asked for toast, about 4 people were just chatting away behind the counter whilst I waited for my toast, 10 mins later they managed to bring it out. Fifthly everything had gone cold already. Sixthly, for two small breakfasts and drinks it was 15 quid. Not a breakfast place maybe but the sandwiches are good and perhaps the rostis and soups are their forte. Yes they have good sausages but how hard is it to prepare breakfast in a cafe with 4 tables and get it right, or even close? Ill be off to a cheaper greasy spoon next time I need a fry up.

For just £1.80 I picked up a freshly made that day ball of fluffy rice cooked in breadcrumbs with a mozzarella and spinach centre that was about the size of both my fists together (without thumbs). Bringing it over to me, he offered a knife and fork, but said he personally like to "snatch it up in a napkin", With my cutlery poised, I suddenly deviated and went down the napkin route, which proved an incredibly satisfying, clean and spillage free way of munching through my meal... Random details aside, there was a host of food on offer here, which I fully intend to explore further down the line, with iconic Mediterranean dishes like lasagne sitting alongside equally intriguing unknown delights. Its a little small inside, so I was pleased to get a seat out of the cold. But for something to bring home with you, or for a sit down and nibble outside, this place is unparalleled.

Having tasted the food though, this is perhaps the best of the local lunchtime eateries. The menu is based on traditional Sicilian dishes, and delivers superbly on the famous Italian brand. You'll also find that it's a lot cheaper than other deli's, certainly those further in to town. My baguette came in at £2.90, very reasonable. Space is a bit limited, but there is seating inside and out (weather permitting). Perhaps the strongest reason for going here would be the delightfully friendly owner, I can't explain just how sweet he was.

Will is incredibly knowledgeable about the wines he introduced us to, taking us through the history of the grape / vineyard through to the flavours we should expect. We got to try six delectable wines, paired with the perfect cheese for the tasting. Oh yes! Now, don't think you're going to get enough nibbles to constitute a full meal... Also, I would suggest a late lunch if possible as you will end up fairly jolly as they have generous pours... We were trashed by the end of it bantering with Will and cracking jokes left right and centre (or at least we were in our minds). Will was happy to join in, and we hoped we left more of a good impression rather than a "thank god they're gone!" sigh of relief. The venue itself is a great size with small tables scattered around the centre table (where we were sat as a larger group of six). The decor is light, modern and filled with the chatter of happy drinkers. I also took home a bottle of my fave wine of the night. Offering 10% off purchases that evening sealed the deal for me (and the fact I needed to pack the bottle in my suitcase as I dreaded my hangover the next day before my 12 hour flight back to Hong Kong!).

The host was so knowledgeable, welcoming and not at all pretentious or intimidating if you're a beginner wine fan! I ended up buying a couple of bottles to take home :) Have come here several times and would definitely recommend for a pleasant and relaxed evening.

Yummmmmmm!…read more Everything in this little Hanover deli/cafe looks mouth-wateringly delicious. I find it a real challenge to walk past without popping in for a treat. The idea behind Fanny's is to provide the local community with local produce, so you'll find there's lots of Sussex cheeses and local meat, as well as local organic milk and eggs. With freshly baked bread and pastries from the Real Patisserie this really is the perfect little shop to have on your doorstep! No longer must you buy yucky over-priced bread from the newsagent if you run out- hooray! The assortment of bread is great and the baguettes are especially good. If you fancy a sandwich they do filled ones too. With yummy home-made cakes, jars of pickles and preserves, antipasti, cheeses and meats of all varieties, I really could spend hours browsing and sampling in this lovely little deli. Alas I don't have that much time or money on my hands. But I will continue to support this fantastic little local business whenever I can!

Selling homemade cakes, bread, sandwiches and fresh coffees, this is one of the nicest places for quite a distance. Everything here is so very Brighton; the produce is continental, yet local and organic (sounds contradictory, but it really is true). I would recommend coming here to anybody, although I would warn you that it is a bit pricey, and the selection is a bit limited if you're thinking about coming here instead of a green grocers or Co-Op.

The signage is pure Farrow & Ball and there's wooden crates artfully displaying mountains of butternut squash, sweet potaties and oranges. Two steps inside however, and you realise the owners have created more of a post-modern corner store with everything from fresh fruit and vegetables, organic eggs, milk and cheese to homemade cakes, soups and palm-sized quiches. The majority of it looks lip-smackingly good and is priced reasonably with coffee, pastries and salads to take away for commuters. Handily, they also sell big bags of rice, pasta, pulses and herbs and lots of Ecover household and cleaning products. In a strange twist, they also stock a small variety of rental DVDs from the owner's previous business - so you can pick up a blockbuster or rom-com with your grains and groceries!

At 60p for a big batch of cinnamon sticks, I would say that Grocer & grain is the right value for right amount. It did seem a little bit cheaper than other markets in the area, which is great if you just spent £24 on a ticket to London!

The lady that owns the business and who is responsible for making all of the food is extremely talented, friendly and down to earth. The food is exceptional, I've eaten here several times and its always consistently good too. What I also love is that even though its raw/clean eating food which is supposed to be the latest trend at the moment, where most places are cashing in, Eat Naked keep their prices reasonable. Its not a fad for them they really do live and breath it as a lifestyle. Their ethos is healthy should be affordable and not boring! They change their menu daily which is to be admired and you can see the menu online on their instagram account. Their clean treats are what dreams are made of. I regularly crave and dream about their snickers bar when I'm in London and count down the days until I can come here again to get one when I'm in Brighton. ITS THAT GOOD! They also do juice cleanses that you can pick up or I believe they can post out too. I can't say one negative thing about this place, its quite small so maybe more of a takeaway place but they still have some seating inside if you want to chill and have a coffee. I've currently sprained my ankle and can't walk, but I just can't go a day without some Eat Naked goodness so I've managed to track down a courier to collect it and bring it to me in my flat. That's how much I love this place! All I need now is for them to clone the store and drop it in London please so that I can visit every day!
